If you're still talking about Luminara she used Soresu which is a very defensive lightsaber form made for reflecting blaster fire. It has nothing to do with lightsaber combat, so yes, she was outmatched. It is used for lightsaber combat as well, Obi Wan uses it all the time and he doesn't usually get defeated by Sith/Dark Jedi on Maul's and Ventress' level. Not to mention that Luminara would know how to implement other forms. That's because... he's Obi-Wan. And yes, she might know how to implement other forms, but it was the start of the clone wars and none of the Jedi were used to lightsaber combat.

Maul was being overconfident and forgot about Qui Gons other lightsaber. BUT in theory if Obi Wan chopped Anakins legs off on the high ground Maul should have easily been able to do the same thing. That brings up another point. Maul was cut in half and still somehow survived, driven only by hate for years. That takes persistence, to take the least. Ventress would probably run away at any time she got if she was loosing. Oh, wait, they're in an enclosed area. Yes Maul is probably as close to the dark side as one could be at this point. IMO Maul could end Jo ending a match for Anakin.

Surviving getting cut in half and falling down a very big hole without dying? He would go into shock at the very least and the fall would kill him. Maul survived the fall because the writers wanted another story. It's cannon, Suuunnn.

I think Maul would win this one. Again, it'd be close but that's the point with these. I think it does depend on this is either Clone Wars Maul or Phantom Menace Maul, but I still think he'd be able to barely beat Ventress. He's been trained by Sidious himself since the very beginning of his life so he knows nothing other than the dark side. Ventress was trained by Dooku but it wasn't until later in her life.

This is clone wars Maul. I was debating which one too use. So Maul also has the Darksaber. Maul was trained from infancy where as Ventress only started learning from Dooku near the start of the clone wars.

As much as I'd love to say Ventress, I'd have to give it to Maul. Both were trained as assassins (note that Maul was never a true Sith, just a pawn for Sidious - Sidious granted him the "Darth" title to deceive him) so both are on equal ground there, but I think Sidious' ruthless forms of teaching Maul give him an upper hand here.

However, Ventress knows both the light side and the dark side, and I consider this a big advantage. And also, I think Ventress is smarter when it comes to fighting than Maul. She's quicker. Maul is always a savage and aggressive killer whereas Ventress ALWAYS uses the environment around her to help.

It disgusts me. Yes, I don't totally support it either. But you can see that Maul is very determined in other instances as well. He took on his first two Jedi without blinking an eye.

Maul, without a doubt. Ventress won't stand a chance. Because Sith > Bald Assassin.

Yeah I don't think Maul is much of a savage. You could be mistaking him with Savage. Horn killing is barbaric.

Sith Assassin > Sith Marauder
Anyone who plays SWTOR will get that.... Oh how powerful Assassins are still can't believe that Assassin managed to beat Malgus hard mode by himself with his enrage active.

Ventress has killed her fair share of Jedi, and once clashed with Windu and held him off for a considerable amount of time

I think that's just what Dathomirian Zabraks do.

Ventress killed Jedi Master Fay, was able to fight Mace Windu for a considerable amount of time, not to mention the fight with Plo Koon and Kit Fisto, which only ended because more Republic forces landed, in that short space of time she managed to wound Plo Koon.
