Vader's not appearing this season.. I would've liked to see him but he can't really do much... But he could've made a cameo though maybe talking to Thrawn or something... That kinda sucks.

I don't think he's really needed, Tarkin controls the outer rim and stuff which is why he was on Lothal protecting Imperial Interests aka Death Star... Now they have Thrawn to hunt down the Rebels. I think Vader mainly appeared because the Grand Inquisitor died, I mean think about it that was probably the first inquisitor ever killed in the field and it was the leader to add that. Vader probably thought there was some greater threat but then he released it was just two Jedi that had little training, but Ahsoka ended up catching his eye which compelled him to hunt her down. Now that Ahsoka is gone well he probably doesn't see Kanan and Ezra as threats and I'm not sure if Vader knows that Maul is alive.

I think that it's probably for the better that we won't see Vader again (at least not this season). If he appeared more often then we'd start seeing him get beaten by the Rebels all the time.

I don't think he ever really got beat though, he single handily destroyed the fleet in the first episode. But I think he only showed up to investigate the death of the grand inquisitor and then follow up on Ahsoka Tano, his part is over now. But I would like to see Maul vs Vader... Unless Obi-Wan comes out of hiding then I don't want anyone else to kill Maul. Seeing old Obi-Wan fight would be cool and give us something better then ANH

Filoni was talking about wanting to get Ewan McGregor to voice him so that must mean there's a high chance of seeing him.... I hope we do. I don't really care who voices him McGregor would be cool though but idk I liked JAT.

All season 3 has to do is adapt Old Wounds, with McGregor making a comeback, and it has my total thumbs up as well as my thanks, regardless of everything else.

So I haven't watched since season 1 ending. Is the show getting decent somewhat now?

I think he's going to try to resurrect Talzin. That would explain the green mist coming out of Kanan in the Season 3 trailer. Either way, I don't think Maul's making it out of Season 3 alive.

Looks like Bo Katan will return Well I didn't think she would die in TCW ever tbh... So I think it's realistic she's alive still

But wasn't Thrawn like after ROTJ... I guess they're bringing him in now just to bring him back into canon

The Jedi met a unknown civilization beyond the known galaxy which was the Chiss and Thrawn represented them. Palpatine got into contact with him long before the Empire

I think thrawn is my favorite villain. Second place would go to pellaeon

But yeah since he's been around then it makes sense having him.

However later books where made by the same author which traces the characters identity to before TCW.

But not sure what you where expecting... Rebels is only like 5 years before ROTJ. It's not like Thrawn just magically got the rank of Grand Admiral in a couple years after ROTJ.
In the EU Thrawn was over seeing the Chiss Ascendancy beyond the Galaxy and he expanded the borders of the empire in the far reaches of the Galaxy during the time of Palpatine and the Empire.
I believe he only was called into the core when more delicate matters required his attention, I guess the Rebels sort of threaten the Death Star, or have a possibility to do so. Likely why Thrawn is here now

No group has likely come close to finding out about the Death Star. The Empire has made certain of that, for example they killed all life on Geonosis...
But the Rebels are starting to get some clues, Geonosis for example and before that the Minister lady on Lothal said the Empire was there for an important project. They will eventually put everything together.
This show will directly tie into Rouge One and the characters here will find out about the Death Star, Rouge One will tie into ANH obviously.

One of the character bios said that Ezra's 17 now, so Season 3's only 2 years before A New Hope. They're definitely getting closer to Rogue One. I think we'll see Saw in the second half of the season.

As for Bo-Katan, her voice actor revealed that info, so I'm guessing Dave Filoni didn't want that to slip so soon. We'll probably see her in the second half of the season too, since she would have been in the Celebration trailer if she was in the first half.

Whether a character dies doesn't necessarily make it suspenseful or not.
