Ellus eyed the mermaid. She was very beautiful. Ellus turned away as she looked back; he didn't want to be caught staring. Ellus awkwardly drank from his glass, hoping the mermaid hadn't seen him. He ran his small fingers through his newly shortened hair. It felt so odd, for cutting your hair was a sin for a dwarf. Ellus had though about cutting off all his hair, but he settled with cutting off his beard and trimming his hair. But a month ago he looked like a dwarf lord, for he was the son of one. But now he had near the appearance of a child. Ellus was ready for this life, the life of an adventurer. His story began today.
OOC: How's that?

Ellus looked around at the other companions. No dwarves. Good. He thought about who ought to be the leader. Ellus himself didn't want the job. He was inexperienced, fresh out of the fat life of wealth. "I'll have a time to prove myself," said Ellus, "But now I turn to these great adventurers for my guidance." Maybe Ellus could vote the mermaid. Yes, he liked the mermaid.

Ghorak should be leader. Ghorak strong, Ghorak lead Orcs to war [ OOC: Don't know the setting but taking a wild stab at it. ] Amara gave the orc a disdainful look, her orangish eyes clearly picking out every featural flaw on him. "You cannot much less form word endings as you could lead us," the mermaid responded, her voice strong and a bit whimsical and otherworldly. She reclined in her seat, swirling the contents of the glass bottle in her hand around as she did so. "You don't have my vote." The glass went to her cosmeticly adjusted red lips and she took a swig of the beverage. "Still, it's nice to know you have confidence. That counts for something." You didn't get anywhere without confidence or some other drive. Amara had an issue sometimes with respecting people, but she spoke her mind freely and respected when she believed respect was due. Like in this case. Still, she wasn't about to let some filthy orc lead the group on such an important quest. Yet she could still be swayed. They had the time. Ghorak win when heads roll OOC: are we RPing like that?

He was inexperienced, fresh out of the fat life of wealth. "I'll have a time to prove myself," said Ellus, "But now I turn to these great adventurers for my guidance." Maybe Ellus could vote the mermaid. Yes, he liked the mermaid. The mermaid had been aware of the Dwarf's gaze a few moments previous, but had paid him no mind until she heard him talk. Mermaids heard clearer than humans, and on top of that the room was rather vacant anyways. "Yes, yes. Prove yourself. That is how greatness and respect is earned," she replied, tranding her drink to her other hand, the glass clinking against the metal bands of the rings on that hand. The rings held exotic looking diamonds, from some of the more trecherous and rare places of Ambodia. Just part of her many exploits in the world. Her back had been turned on her own kind, but she was so much more richer for it. Rich in jewels. Rich in expierence. Rich in exploration...like the mission to be at hand. Who knows where the great purple light lead in the unexplored jungle. Amara practically trembled with excitement just thinking about the adventure ahead. Yet still they had to choose a leader before they could go. The orc defintely did not have her vote, nor did the Dwarf. He seemed too inexperienced. Perhaps the other members of the team would be more better suited...once they started talking that was.

But he realized potential, wars all not all won on the front lines. Ghorak was never very good at tactics. She gave him a sneer, and for a second her incisors extended a bit into top and bottom fangs as they did when mermaids hunted and before they went in for the kill. There was no use in fighting him however. Whatever happens would happen, and if he should not return from the job well his people could shed ugly tears for him for all she cared. Amara took another sip of her drink, only to find that that was the last sip. Her orange eyes rolled, and a sound of disgust escaped her lips. Raising up her other hand, she snapped her fingers and shouted for a waiter. One appeared a few moments later and took her empty class and replaced it with a flask of something else. She peered into the glass then raised an eyebrow at the waiter. He quickly rushed off, but not before promising profusely that she would enjoy it. Giving her head a tiny shake, she took a casual sip. Liking what she tasted, she took a longer sip of it. Ah, the benefits of the surface world.

Like many of the others, Ellus did not take much of a liking to this Orc. Ellus had left many things behind with the Cimber Clan, but his hatred of orcs was not among them. He did not like to be prejudice, but Ellus could not help but despise the Orc. Maybe that could change.

Ghorak sat on a log sharpening his sword. He surveyed the group, he did not take much of a liking with anyone. Ghorak did not expect to be liked though among these people when he had fought against and killed many of their kind. Ghorak knew from Orc culture all respect is earned.

Ike sat a ways away from the other adventurers, unsure of what to think of them. Knowing that he should try to judge them more by their actions and words than by their appearance, he sheathed his sword and slowly walked toward them hoping to learn more of their personalities. "Hello my name is Ike," he said, "and whom might all of you be?"

Growing tired of receiving no response from the other members of his group, Ike ordered a small cup of water knowing that he will need to stay hydrated and sober for the following days to come. Walking to the farthest table, Ike sat in the shade and decided to study his fellow adventurers, taking small drinks as he studied.

She reached over and patted the bow that rested against the chair she was reclining in. It was of dark wood, and adorned a bit practically with red lines, that matched her crimson attire. Next to the bow was a quiver full of arrows that had red feathers on the ends. Red seemed to be the color of Amara. And of blood. Rather fitting, since she was a carnivous mermaid who killed for both food and for a living. "I also occasionally use a dagger, but I think I would be enough of a force to be recokoned with, even weaponless." It was the truth, since yet again she was a carnivious mermaid. Her kind sung and seduced sailors and pirates at sea, only to pull them into the water, drown them, and consume them in the depths. Not only was her voice a weapon, but she had the typical pointed and extending insisors of her kind.

Ellis walked up to Ike and bowed. "Ellis Cimber at you service," he said.
