Tell me. If your precious Renly commanded you to kill your own father and stand by as thousands of innocent men, women, and children burned alive would you have done it?
I never cared much for the common people. Innocent or otherwise.

Change My Mind: Jenny of Oldstones was the best part of Season 8.

Great theme for a useless character... Not sure if he even is a character or just a walking icicle that smiles... I haven't thought about GoT in a while but hearing this just made me think how he could've been such a compelling character..

The new show is apparently going to be called Blood Moon.
This has me about as excited as Star Wars: Resistance did.

So we are getting a second prequel about the Targaryens.
Could be interesting... Fire and Blood was a good read... but I am not sure what they are planning to do. If they are doing the Conquest or the Dance of Dragons they would need an insane budget.
The thing is we would already knew where everything was going... so I am not sure if it could get close to GOT season 1-4 levels of suspense.

No offense to Peter Dinklage but I’m sure there was someone more deserving.

No offense to Peter Dinklage but I’m sure there was someone more deserving. 3 of the 7 in that section were from GOT, but I think someone besides them should've gotten it. Even though their acting wasn't bad, the script didn't allow them to do much.

I haven't been able to watch Season 4 (wtf Netflix) but it feels like they are nominating Jonathan Banks just out of habit every year, just like Peter Dinklage. He is always good but I didn't think had much Emmy worthy material in Seasons 2 and 3. But honestly he was amazing in Season 1 and should have beat out Peter Dinklage, who hasn't had any good material since 2014.

Also it's laughable that Sophie Turner and Maisie Wiliams got nods.
Both are fine but all they did this season was read lame dialogue in the most bored tone possible. It's like nominating Natalie Portman for TPM.
Maisie should have been nominated maybe for Season 2 or 3. Sophie has honestly never Emmy worthy but her best work was in Season 4.

The only GOT actor/actress that deserved some kind of reward for this season was Emilia Clarke. I know Dany's story this season made absolutely no sense, but Clarke did really well trying to show her descend into madness... even if it makes no sense from a story perspective. I really liked how she started copying some of Viserys's mannerisms near the end.

They cancelled the Prequel series. I don't know how to feel about that. The GOT world is still very interesting, despite the messed up final season. I think it could have been fun... I would have liked another GOT-like show... with a proper ending.

There were 5 series originally I think but they did not give a greenlight to any of them yet... Except maybe the Targaryen prequel series George RR Martin hinted at. We don't know what they will do with that, but this does nto seem promising.

That they would try 5 prequels in the first place is the epitome of throwing shit at the wall to see what sticks.
Honestly makes me feel like none of them really need to happen.

They were never going to actually do all 5 though. They were going to pick the one or two that seemed best after the idea phase.

Not sure if I prefer this one over the Long Night one. We already know what happened with the Targaryens... I don't know if they will just do Aegon and his sister or just follow all of Fire and Blood...
Still, the end is known, and Fire and Blood spoils the main plot. Maybe something we know very little about could have been interesting.

Like if AMC couldn’t think of anything good to succeed Breaking Bad so let people try a Jesse spinoff, a Saul spinoff, a Gray Matter spin-off, a Tuco spin-off, and a Walt Jr spinoff, then I wouldn’t get that there’s much real vision for any of them.

The GOT world is a lot more extensive and interesting than the Breaking Bad world though. So I think it makes sense, there were lots of possible prequels they could have went with.

Idk. I’m just even less excited for this than I am for Star Wars. I am not. Fuck Star Wars. Game of Thrones may have messed up with the final seasons, but the story and world from the books is still awesome. Apparently they confirmed the series will focus on the Dance of Dragons. That entire storyline has already been written out by George so I don't think they can mess this up in the same way as they did with GOT. We already know how it will end, and the ending makes complete sense. And there is a potential to have it feel like early GOT. The Dance of Dragons is pretty awesome and interesting. I just don't know how they are planning on dealing with the dragon budgets... because they are going to need a lot of those... Also, they definitely need some side characters that did not appear in Fire and Blood, so that is the only thing that could go wrong. But I have faith in HBO actually (unlike Disney). It is not their fault D&D wanted to rush to the ending to get working on their Star Wars trilogy. They actually wanted 10 seasons. And George is among the writing staff (as h was with early GOT). This can totally be fine. If D&D were involved again I would have passed on this show too, but there is lots of potential for this to surpass GOT. You have to view this independently from the original series. It is a new story in the same world.
