Cersei: "You're hurt" Jaime: "Well, you did send Bronn to kill me." Is that really confirmed though? All we have is the “Hand of the Queen” Qyberns word to go off of. He may have took it on his own authority, just the way Cersei stood down to Tyrion and her reaction to Jaime makes me think she didn’t really want Bronn to murder them. And Tyrion even told him not to trust Cersei

So... predictions for the finale? I'd say there's no way Jon won't kill Dany, but then again, I don't know what to expect anymore after the Night King debacle. Dany's definitely a goner though. Arya will do it.

Apparently most people who read the full spoilers think the finale will be the worst episode in the series due to the fact that it ends with a major twist that won't work with the limited time left. I wonder if it is the twist I saw... Because I think that could work, but I really agree there is not much time to properly execute it at this point... 80 minutes to deal with the aftermath of the previous episode AND set up this new big twist... that's 100% impossible. So I guess we should prepare for even more disappointment.

Every problem I’ve had with the show feels like it could have been solved if the writers had more time.
And the thing is, HBO and the fans would have given them as much as they needed for a satisfying ending.

And the thing is, HBO and the fans would have given them as much as they needed for a satisfying ending. That's one of the main worries with this kind of long running television. Writers/showrunners losing interest and focusing more on ending it sooner rather than properly is perhaps one of the worst ways you can close a show. Clearly D&D are just itching for that Star Wars project to get going and are willing to throw what made them in the first place under a bus. Did you know Benioff wrote X-Men Origins: Wolverine? I just learned this recently and now I'm wondering A) how the hell he was let out of writing prison and B) how they thought they could get away with this kind of ending to the show

So D&D are getting their Star Wars movie in 2022... This proofs they rushed GOT just to get their SW movie in my opinion... If they had done another season (or another two seasons as HBO/Martin wanted) they would not have managed to finish GOT in time.

I kinda want to give the books a go, but I just know that if I get into them, I'll read them quickly and wind up joining everyone else in the agonising wait for the final two

A Storm of Swords is one of my favorite books ever. I would definitely recommend it. But you shouldn't worry about finishing them before the next one is released because A Feast for Crows is really bad and kind of exhausted me. I still haven't managed to finish the fifth book because of that. Also, since we are on the subject... Did you ever end up reading the other two Mistborn books?

George only wanted certain people he approved to do it and it was these guys. Seems like he's regretting that decision now... It's kinda fucked though. The network is allowing you to do more and you refuse? I think there's many shows and fans of those shows which got cancelled or were forced to end prematurely that would've been grateful for the opportunity to do more.

I'm hoping to have enough free time over the weeks to finish off Mistborn. The story's stuck with me for so long I'm getting really annoyed at how I can't seem to make space for it for so long Once that series is in the bag, I think I'll give Fire and Ice a crack at it.

I'm looking forward to it. I think it will be hailed as the worst episode of anything ever Even though it won't be. No matter how bad this season has been... it is still better than 90% of what airs on TV in my opinion. Sure, it sucks that it didn't meet the standards of the early seasons due to the time restrictions imposed by the writers... But it is not bad TV still.

Honestly, I just need three things from this episode: 1. Have Bran use his powers in an interesting way. Nothing lame like warging himself to give Arya that dagger (as people have been suggesting). 2. Have Jon kill Dany. Not Arya. 3. Explain the Lord of Light stuff properly (hopefully ties into Bran).
Bonus points: Davos does something useful for the first time in like 3 seasons.
If they do all that I might just accept this season... as a season of good ideas with rushed writing.

On a positive note: George RR Martin is apparently more involved with the upcoming prequels than he was with the last few seasons of GOT. So I have faith that we will at least get one good GOT spin-off. Maybe not as good as GOT season 1-4, but still a lot better than what we have been watching the last few months.
