I don't think it's that unfair actually what characters know if pretty fair game... We don't know if Maul knew about these abilities. The makers of TCW decided not to include them in the show. He couldn't know because they where lost over time. Many of TOR and KOTOR stuff was lost.

I'm trying to imply that TCW + the movies don't have these kind of abilities (probably because Filoni and Lucas find them to be overpowered or have no knowledge on them at all) so it's unfair to judge Maul on his lack of those abilities. No because the EU writers could have put that in their stories regarding Maul, but they didn't because they obviously didn't think Maul had that kind of powerEU writers don't decide what's canon. The EU is overpowered in general though. It seems the more a character is connected to the EU the more overpowered he is.

Actually the EU is basically what makes Star Wars what it is, it makes up more than 90% of Star Wars canon and expands what we can't see in the movies

That's just an excuse to explain why they aren't used in the movies or TCW. The real reasonis just because Lucas (and Filoni) didn't want them to be included or had no knowledge of them.

Actually the EU is basically what makes Star Wars what it is, it makes up more than 90% of Star Wars canon and expands what we can't see in the movies But it's secondary canon. Like an alternate universe. And most of it is garbage. Some of it can still be enjoyable, but it's still an alternate (usually overpowered and exaggerated) universe made by people who are Star Wars fans themselves and want to make their favorite characters (or new characters they made up) look awesome and really powerful.

KOTOR and TOR were EU... The stories in them are probably one of the best Star Wars stories ever told and it's all canon, including powers (because we see them in cutscenes and in other EU books as well). And the EU characters being overpowered (which Malak isn't) , isn't overpowered at all, it just expands characters and shows you their full potential

Even Starkiller does not have access too TOR abilities. Starkiller has his own set of overpowered abilities. Actually, the powers Starkiller uses are pretty basic. just amplified versions of Force Wave

All of the abilities Starkillers uses are pretty reasonable and most are established ones except the repulse which incinerates enemy's but the idea isn't OP because it's similar too Force wave.

I mean, an immortal Sith Emperor who has the power to wipe out all life in the galaxy... sounds kinda overpowered to me. I will not consider that canon.

I really advise too look at this www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=549272 this guy here has a index thread and he does VERY good in depth analysis of characters, lightsaber forms and force powers, etc... I read a lot of them and learned quite a bit I didn't know.
