I don't think that guy was even a stormtrooper. He was probably disguised as one just like Luke in ANH. Also, I think stormtroopers should't be black. Not because I'm racist, but because it would add to the image of the empire if their entire army consisted of white human males. In the OT we didn't see a single alien or non-white person in the Empire, but there were plenty in the Rebel Alliance... it shows that the empire is some kind of fascist dictatorship. Actually, the stormtroopers are considered expendable. Why would they care about the race or sex of soldiers who they will not care about dying? It makes sense that the expendable ones are a bunch of different races (and sexes, there were female troopers in A New Dawn, which is canon) whereas the higher officers are all white males. Hmm, that may be true but still, all the imperials we saw in the OT were white human males... But I guess we didn't really get to see the stormtroopers, so perhaps they weren't... (and what is "A New Dawn" some new book they released after Disney deleted the EU?) |

Am I the only one who actually doesn't want or care if the OT cast is in the new movies. I really see no point in having them besides having OT fans be obsessed and so happy. They're old. None of them are going to look like there old characters. Maybe it's because I dislike the OT, but we don't need Luke or Han or Leia.

I think the producers and everything are doing a good job, the teaser looked good. But I'm not that thrilled about the cast yet don't have the most confidence in them.

Honestly, this makes me more excited for Episode 7 than I was before. I think the Sith (Jedi Hunter, or whatever his role is) looks pretty awesome. Not sold on the lightsaber yet, but it certainly is taking after a legitimate Middle Ages sword. Maybe Obi is right about it being an Old Republic relic. I think the guy in the stormtrooper outfit at the start of the teaser will be a good hero for the film for some reason. Same with the girl. They seem somewhat promising even though I know nothing about them. And yeah, that Falcon shot was breathtaking. And there was an interesting droid too. Probably a filler that may only appear briefly since JJ didn't want to show an original OT cast member (R2/3PO). |

The X-Wings flying above the water with the mountains backdrop looked great as well. The water flying up behind them adds a weight to them that GL seemed to neglect adding in the PT with the special effects he could've used. Makes it seem more realistic.

Also, is the plot thing with Luke having to be found by others after finding his lightsaber (or something like that) confirmed or not? If so, this is an way to have like affect the plot a lot but possibly not be shown a lot.
And another interesting thought could be if Luke was the hooded guy with the red lightsaber. Maybe it's him trying to learn more secrets. Unless it's truly a sith/Jedi hunter that' could also be attempting to gain knowledge and power to take down the Jedi.

One more thing (sorry for all the posts ) but, and I may be alone on this, but I think the Stormtroopers look great and will be a definite improvement on skill/threat levels when the protagonists have to face them. |
