This was probably the most filler we’ve had in the show, Kinda boring the entire time and pretty predictable. Almost reminded me of like Mercy Mission from TCW.
Next week should get back on track cause the episode is called War Mantle and I’d imagine the final 3 will be connected to the main plot specifically the Kamino plot line

Well I expected Gregor to show up at some point so it was cool to see that. Also cool to see that secret Commando training grounds that's a pretty neat idea. At least I imagine it's a Commando facility and not a new Stormtrooper training facility I mean why would it be crawling with CCs? Early stormtroopers also interesting. They were clearly drawing on Death Star escape vibes with the music and set design.
Also they snuck in Scorch. I didn't expect to see Delta Squad ever again considering the Batch is basically their replacement so that was a nice surprise. Obviously the rest of the squad would've been even better but maybe there's a chance for that in the future. Though not expecting it. One thing pissing me off is that they're still using stun rounds. Why? And in the beginning we even saw a Commando can tank a stun or two so it makes no sense to use them against the CCs.
Kinda feels like this basically turned into the Rebels season 1 finale though. I loved those episodes but I'd like to see something a little more different here. I think maybe the Kaminoans will find out Hunter was captured and recover him for their experiment. I'm really concerned about Lama Su though. I don't want him to die. They always kill off interesting non combatant characters like The Client and Taun We for example

Also I feel like Nala Se was sending off those cadets to use for their rebellion or whatever but no way accelerated aging kicks in in time. So they're gonna use kids to fight the Imperials? Kinda lame. Might as well show kid Boba then too

That was one of the better episodes this season for sure. Gregor's appearance was fun, and now that he's here, I'd like to see him stick around a few more episodes. Daro and the Imperial base looked great, and Scorch's cameo was a nice touch. Maybe we'll see a little more of him next episode.
Finally they're back to showing more of the Kaminoan storyline. Super glad that Lama Su is smart enough to realize the Empire will eventually wipe them out. Su's chances of surviving past the finale don't look great, but would love if he did. Rampart choosing to keep Nala Se around also makes it seem she'll be a major influence on all Imperial cloning stuff that even carries into the Mando and sequel era stories.

Nala Se is such a weird character imo, in TCW she was super loyal to the chancellor and earlier this season she betrayed the empire to protect Omega and the Batch and now I just don’t know with her. Hopefully Lama Su didn’t die though at the end there.
Honestly the animation was probably the best yet, it looked so good in the forest. I’m hoping things work out and Crosshair rejoins the squad... unless they have Gregor replace him. His appearance was pretty cool though, but I really hope we see Cody soon. Probably season 2.
Honestly surprised we didn’t see Ahsoka at any point this season and I kinda feel like we won’t, unless Rex and her come to help here at the end. But idk that might be weird, cause Vader seemed to think she died in order 66 in Rebels

I kinda hope Gregor doesn't become a recurring character I find his voice annoying lol. And tbh I'll be glad if there's no Ahsoka I'm pretty tired of her. But some article long before the show dropped said she along with Bo-Katan would be in it at some point.

Yeah I don’t really want Ahsoka that much either tbh, Rex is fine he honestly kind of fits in the era for now. Honestly Bo wouldn’t be that bad though, I actually kind of want to know what’s going on with Mandalore after ROTS. I hope they keep Maul out of it as much as possible, but Crimson Dawn would be a cool thing in the later seasons I suppose.

Season 2 confirmed for 2022. Glad this show will be sticking around for a bit, I think there's a lot more they can do with it. However I think that will mean some plotlines will not be concluded this season and will be saved for next season... I just want to know more about the mysterious vat stuff. Mando showed it also but didn't give any clear answers. I just need to know if it's related to TROS or not lol
And I guess the other thing is whether Crosshair rejoins the squad or dies. I'm leaning towards rejoins them however I feel like their shuttle will get pretty crowded with 6 people...

I can't help but feel lik this show would have been better if they had done Clone Wars style arcs and the focus was not necessarily on the Bad Batch.
Like it would just be a show of the events immediately after the Clone Wars. Sometimes we follow Rex or Ahsoka for a few episodes, then we can switch to the Batch, then back to Kamino to see what the other clones and Kaminoans are up to, then some underworld arcs with Hondo, Boba, Cad Bane and Maul then some politics with Palpatine and the senate, also have some separatist main characters that are dealing with the aftermath of their defeat. And of course we would revisit these different stories at different points and they might cross over into each other, but I think focusing on the Bad Batch alone was a mistake. There are so many stories to tell here.

The arc format is definitely a lot more versatile and better for worldbuilding but idk I think when it's serialized, you can get more invested in the story and characters and whatnot. If it's compelling enough of course...

Idk about this one. I'm sad that Kamino was destroyed I feel like it could've been used later. But then again it does feel like something the Empire would do. Still I had hoped for some kind of last stand and what we got was a little anti climactic to me. Sucks we didn't really see any clones because everyone had been evacuated. And there was no cool battle, just Omega accidentally turning on the droids which I honestly thought was dumb and annoying... I get they wanted to show the squad training again like old times but I would've preferred something else...
Interesting developments with Crosshair though. But the finale I just don't see covering all the plot threads unfortunately. Why is Omega a girl? What is Nale Se's experiment? What happened to the prime minister? Where did all the clone troopers and Kaminoan personnel get sent to? What happened to Howzer? Guess we'll see next season...

I'm gonna guess the next season will show regular stormtroopers from the start. There will probably be a bit of a time jump and they will drop the McQuarrie armor and "TK trooper" name. Or idk maybe they will keep the TK troopers around for a bit and then gradually turn them into the stormtroopers we are familiar with. I think it would be better to actually see the clones being phased out in the first couple episodes though as well as their reactions to the Stormtroopers. Or who knows maybe we will see that. I guess I'm speculating prematurely and the finale will give us more ideas lol

Meh, I guess this was a better episode since it moved the story forward and seeing the clone facility destroyed was kind of sad.
But I feel like the clones should stick around a bit longer. It doesn't make a lot of sense for the Empire to phase them out so quickly when they already had years of training. Maybe the Kaminoans had a back-up plan in the inhibitor chips or something like that, and they will activate that to fight back against the Empire. That would give the Empire some good reasons to complete phase out the clones.

I think arcs work better for Star Wars show due to the scope of the galaxy and the amount of characters. Serialized arcs would work too. OR they really have to focus on an interesting story with interesting characters (like Palpatine's rise to senator, that would work serialized). The Bad Batch has neither. Having said that, I still think this beats the Mandalorian and Rebels in every way. It's like a 5,5/10 for me right now. It does the bare minimum.

The destruction of Kamino was sad, almost like a transition from prequel to original in a way. I also thought it was a little anti climatic but I liked the developments with Crosshair, I’m pretty sure he will be good with the squad again I’m just not sure exactly how it will happen. It’s likely the finale will be a character building episode with the Batch rather then much Imperial involvement since it should pick up under water.
I think the Kaminoans are gonna remain relevant for quite awhile though

While we sadly won't see a clone rebellion on Kamino, I do think they are setting up some sort of clone rebellion with Rex. That's what he's been doing off screen, rallying or at least saving clones against the Empire. Gregor, Wolffe, and Howzer will be involved for sure. I would prefer Ahsoka to find an excuse not to help so it's purely a clone centered event

I think he still has the chip though... after the droid fight he held his head for a second. I don’t think the empire would let him remove his chip. It might be damaged though from his injuries

It might be damaged though from his injuries A couple theories I've seen are after he got hit with the Venator engines, they had to remove the chip as it would've caused him further internal damage otherwise Or they simply told him the chip was removed when it actually wasn't. I could see that being the case. Crosshair thinks he doesn't have the chip which allowed them to do that twist however if he does unknowingly still have it, they can remove it and he will be able to rejoin the squad and it'll be a happy ending

And I actually feel like the empire would have rather him died then have no chip

Just had a crazy idea what if the plan to get rid of the clones is to basically "order 66" them. Like wherever clones and TK troopers are serving together, the TKs will suddenly get orders to execute all nearby clones. Would be sorta poetic lol
But I mean there has to be some endgame for the remaining clone forces. There are still so many of them and I don't think they'd just be kicked out of the Empire and get their freedom. They will most likely be wiped out. You get the sense there aren't really any clones left during the Empire era. Also I imagine Palpatine has some paranoia about the clones and how the chips could possibly be used to have them turn on him.

They age twice as fast, so they would be in their sixties. I would hope that some clones are still around as officers, but most just retired and aren't really relevant to the story anymore by that time.

It was okay. Kinda underwhelming. I wish something more happened like some more interesting plot development. The Nala Se ending doesn't feel like a strong enough of a cliff hanger to look forward to more. Honestly I fully expected them to pull something like this. I wanted them to advance the plot but I knew the whole episode would just be them escaping. What I find funny is how many people are disappointed by this finale when it is pretty much the exact same as TCW's finale. And everyone loved that...
In TCW the main characters are trying to escape the Venator after Order 66. It's mostly action with a quiet and emotional scene of reflection at the end. Then we cut to the Empire looking cool.
In Bad Batch the main characters are trying to escape Kamino after it is destroyed. It's mostly action with a quiet and emotional scene of reflection at the end. Then we cut to the Empire looking cool.
Why is one underwhelming and the other an epic and satisfying finish to a beloved series? I felt this exact same disappointment with TCW's finale, probably even more actually. Because that was supposed to be the grand finale for the whole series. At least with Batch we know they are continuing.

Meh it was okay, the animation was excellent and the story at least progressed. But it didn't feel like a finale, not much of a cliffhanger or anything like that. The show could have ended here to be honest. Also the Batch barely made any progress. Kamino got destroyed, sure... but the Bad Batch are just in the same position as they were after episode 1.
So yeah, I just feel like my original worries for this show (the Bad Batch not being interesting enough for their own show) were correct.
