Since the movie will premiere tonight for a select audience spoilers will start to spread over the internet in the next few days. So I think it is time to create the TFA spoiler thread. For those who have seen the movie or read spoilers, please ONLY discuss here. Do NOT mention any spoilers anywhere outside this thread until at least 2 weeks after the official release date.

Like I said in the non-spoiler thread, this movie was awesome. I'll have to see it at least one more time and let it all sink in before officially ranking it, but it's definitely in the top half of my favorite Star Wars films. The old cast was used pretty well. The new cast was great and I now have full confidence in all of them. The effects were great (a good mix of practical and CGI) too. This was just an all around fun, exciting film. I was in a massive theater with tons of people, so everyone laughing and cheering along with the most emotional moments really helped make the experience more enjoyable to me.

As for the characters, Kylo Ren is awesome. He was a really well done villain. If you told me, out of context, that Rey would beat him in a lightsaber duel, though, then I would have been really disappointed. However, seeing the scene in context made it work well for me. Kylo was badly injured already, and Rey tapping into the force seemed pretty believable to me. I really liked Poe as well. He just seemed like he would be an awesome guy in real life. Hopefully his role will expand in the next one.

I really didn't expect to see Snoke in this one. I thought they were saving him for Episode VIII. However his scenes felt a bit out of place but that might because that hologram was so big. And i still hate the name with a passion although i'm sure he has a "Darth" name that's a lot cooler somewhere.

And the biggest spoiler of all. Han Solo I knew the possibility for him to die was there and i loved Kylo Ren was actually Ben Solo. The moment told Chewie to go upstairs and he went downstairs i felt that he was going to die. Then the scene where he spoke with his son was very touching and heartpouding since we didn't know if he was going to make it alive. Then Kylo tried to give his saber to Solo and that's where i lost it. Because at that moment i knew he was done for.

Predictions for Episode VIII:
- Finn finds Rey again. She is now a Padawan training with Luke and she becomes a full Jedi at the end of the film or she is already a Jedi when they find her. - More Poe Dameron and some more development for the Resistance. - The Knight of Ren in action - Kylo training to become a full Sith. Possible we might see a Jedi and a Sith training in this movie at the same time. - The return of an angry Captain Phasma who actually does something. - Rematch between Rey and Ren - Possible Luke .vs. Snoke? I think the scars Snoke had in Force Awakens are because of Luke - Snoke gets a better name.

I'm going to slowly spill my thoughts in this thread over time because there's so much to talk about. I loved how diverse this movie was. Other Star Wars movies had aliens, but this one felt much more inclusive... there were not only people of different colors, races, and accents (like the Guavian Death Gang and Kanjiklub Gang guys), but there were also even female stormtroopers other than Phasma. And so many characters didn't speak basic. It just felt like a real galaxy.

I knew it was coming (spoilers...), but it was a great confrontation. Adam Driver killed it as Kylo Ren (it's not the only thing he killed ). That's actually one of my problems with the movie though. I feel like they didn't really address Han's death too well. We get the initial reactions from Rey, Chewie, and Finn, and then we get shots of Leia and Chewie looking sad later, but Han's never mentioned after his death and he doesn't even get some type of funeral (I no there's no body, but they still could have honored him somehow). I hope his death's acknowledged more properly in Episode VIII.

So Ivar (and anyone else who eventually makes their way to this thread), do you think Rey is Luke's daughter? Or do you think she's just a random person? She's definitely not Han and Leia's, so I think she sort of has to be Luke's at this point... maybe she got her memories wiped when he abandoned her on Jakku? The only problem with Luke being her father is that it wouldn't be a surprise at all.

I hope his death's acknowledged more properly in Episode VIII. I disagree. His death was acknowledged but not in words but through actions. He didn't need to be mentioned because it was clear enough. A funeral wasn't needed for Han IMO. Doesn't feel like his style (and like you said there was no body to recover) The reactions from Chewie, Finn and Rey were spine-chilling though. For me personally it was perfectly done.

I always knew Rey was going to be the Jedi in this episode and not Finn so i liked to see that was right. Since the Jedi are purged (again) i assume Luke saved Rey and hid her away just like Obi-wan and Bail did with him and Leia. I don't think a memory wipe wasn't needed since she seemed pretty young.

It would have been nice if Leia told Rey that Han legacy would live on or something like that... but I do agree that the initial reactions were great (Leia sensing it was perfect and Chewie's roar was heartbreaking).

The moment when Finn asked Rey: "How did you do that!?" and she responded with: "I don't know" At that moment i knew she was a Jedi and most likely Rey Skywalker.

Apparently she was five, so I think she would have known her father was a jedi. During the forceback sequence it also sort of seemed like she was recovering memories. I just wish that, if she really is Luke's daughter, they revealed it in this one. Because it's not really going to be a surprise at all in Episode VIII.

Well his legacy did live on. They destroyed Starkiller Base. It didn't really need to be said because we saw it. That's my opinion ofcourse i can see what you're coming from though.

The Millennium Falcon's introduction was also perfect. When Rey first said "that ship's garbage", I knew it would be the Falcon. The theater went crazy in laughter and applause when that scene happened.

This movie was awesome! I got to the very first show of the night last night and it was packed an hour and a half before the movie started, so glad I left when I did. We know that Kylo is the son of Leia and Han but is Reya? She was hugging Leia like she had a tie to her but being she is force sensitive most likely she is? Also, where did Snoke come from and how powerful is he, powerful enough to overthrow Palpatine in his time and is be really that large in person or just on hologram? These are all things I'm looking forward to seeing in the next movie to be clarified. This was an outstanding movie! A lot better than expected and great camera work as well. I liked when Fin gave VB8 I think his name is a thumbs up and then he gave one back using a mini torch .

Yeah, my theater was packed as well (I got there an hour early and was lucky enough to get 3 seats in a row high up with my two brothers). As for Snoke's size, I guess we'll just have to wait and see. For all we know, he could be 2 feet tall. And LOL, yeah, that scene with BB-8 was one of the funniest in the movie.

I couldn't quite tell if that was his true size or just a hologram for Snoke. In the first scene he kind of faded like light (leading to the hologram theory) but the next scene he seemed like a real figure....I hope he's human size

Wait, wait, wait guys. I know it looks like he totally kicked the bucket, but Han fell down a chasm. Now if we look back at similar "deaths", then we may not have ourselves a stiff after all

Now if we look back at similar "deaths", then we may not have ourselves a stiff after all I actually think Han killed himself, didn't he? I think killing his father was Kylo's weakness as he said. As a result I think he asked for Han's help in killing himself, so he pulled the saber trigger for Kylo? Or maybe I read that wrong? Sorry I'm an analyzer

What I find so fascinating about Kylo is that he's a complex villain that wants to be a simple black and white villain. The idea of him wanting to purge the light out of himself is a cool reversal of what we usually see.

What were your guys' favorite parts of the movie? IMO, the first act was the best. Maybe it was because I was still so flabbergasted by seeing an opening crawl on screen again, but I thought the opening village raid scene was phenomenal. And then the entire first act was just really fun and immersive. As for later scenes, like I said before, Han's death scene was really well done.

I enjoyed the scene where Reya was interrogated but resisted the force from Kylo. It showed her character and made you wonder if she would cave but it showed her strength. I also enjoyed the chase scene of Fin and Reya on Jaku towards the beginning. I enjoyed all the explosives and camera work of the scene and with all the Tie Fighters flying in low that was pretty neat as well. That scene was the perfect transition to the iconic Millenium Falcon stealing the show of the scene. I enjoyed all Chewie scenes, especially after he raged after Han's death and went beast mode on his crossbow blaster. I wonder if they'll keep him in all the other movies despite the fact his lifetime partner Han is now gone, I hope so.
