I'm preparing myself for when the first Rogue One trailer's released and there's a slew of people asking "Where's Finn and Rey? Why did the stormtroopers change again?". Well, it is understandable if you don't follow the Star Wars news that much. Which makes me wonder why Disney decided to make movie about this. It wasn't a story that had to be told, we can all pretty much imagine what happened and if they really wanted to cover it they could have done so in Rebels. They could have made a movie about something else for their first spin-off film. Either something that ties into the sequels directly or something based around a character or story people want to know more about... but this decision still seems odd to me. I'm guessing it secretly does have some ties with the sequel trilogy...

I think everyone has seen Ep. VII by now that is going to, but I'll put this in the spoiler tag just in case. Assuming Snoke is a new character, I wonder if Rogue One will introduce his character when he was much younger and provide a backstory for him? The fact Disney is making this spin-off so soon about a time before the ST still seems odd to me, making me believe it will tie into the new trilogy somehow. This could be an interesting way to make the release/purpose of this film make more sense as well as give us more insight on the new "puppet master" of the ST, like how Palpatine was for the first 6 movies.

I don't see how Snoke would tie into this movie though. He seems very old, at least 100 years, probably even a lot older. Also he said he witnessed the rise and fall of the empire and it is confirmed he didn't actively take part in the Galactic Civil War... so I really don't see how he could be relevant in this movie since it is about the Galactic Civil War. If they are going to tie it in with the ST it will probably be through other characters and storylines.

I'm sure rumors of this have been going around for a while, but I heard somewhere that they've recreated the Episode IV Vader suit exactly the same and Disney has talked with James Earl Jones, meaning that they plan to have Vader at least in a scene or two where he'll have some dialogue. As long as James Earl Jones is voicing him, I don't mind if Vader shows up, although I feel he should have limited screen time or maybe come in at the very end as a lead in to the start of ANH where he's seen chasing after the stolen plans personally.

First trailer tomorrow! I'm surprised. I was expecting it either at the end of the month to debut with Civil War or on May 4th. I guess they'll be putting it with Jungle Book in theaters.

This really came out of nowhere though... which is funny because there was like a one month build up to The Force Awakens' first teaser.

Bout time we got this Looks good, but I'm not getting myself hyped just yet. Need a bit more info to gauge what I'll think of it. Also, god does anyone else feel weird seeing OT stuff in modern day?

It looks pretty good, didn't get to see that much yet.
Off topic I like the end part where Mark Hamill is just starring into the camera lol

Actually, looking back, did anyone else feel disappointed by the total lack of aliens?

Actually, looking back, did anyone else feel disappointed by the total lack of aliens? Not really, the Empire has no aliens so you wouldn't see any with them and the old Rebels where largely humans as well to begin with.

The imperial with the white clothes is rumored to be Yularen.

The imperial with the white clothes is rumored to be Yularen. It can't be him since Yularen already appears in A New Hope. I think this is a new villain (who they'll probably kill off by the end of the movie).

Donnie Yen looks awesome. I definitely think he'll be one of my favorite characters. I'm not a fan of Felicity Jones so far though... the "I rebel" line sort of made me cringe. Other than that the trailer looked pretty good! Not as good as TFA trailers, but still good.

I think the new guy is likely the Grand Admiral, he wears an outfit similar to Thrawn in th EU I think and he has lots of ribbons or whatever. Only the best/ highest ranks would be able to over see the Death Star

It's definitely not Yularen. This takes place very shortly before A New Hope. This guy's got a cape and looks younger. Yularen's much older, is part of the Imperial Security Bureau, and has that mustache. Plus, if Yularen let the plans fall into rebel hands like it seems this guy with the cape will do, I doubt he would have a seat on that council.

What do you all think about the cloaked guy with the red guards by his side?
The obvious fan theory right now is that he's Snoke. He can't be Vader because of his stature and he's wearing a hood, and he can't be the Emperor since the Emperor wouldn't bow to anyone.

It could be Yularen, and he could survive. Well, I guess this guy could survive, but since this is a one off movie I can see them killing him off. Plus, if he isn't killed by the rebels, Vader definitely won't appreciate his failure.
