So yeah, thought it was pretty good. The beginning kinda felt like Supernatural lol. I liked Boromir. Even though he killed that guy at the beginning, he seems like a good guy. And he didn't try to kill any Hobbits in this one. And Arya was cool. She reminds me of my sister. Catelyn was okay but you can tell she's mean to Jon Snow for no reason. And I liked Jon Snow. I feel bad for that guy. Sansa (had to look that up) annoyed me. She's whiny. And then there's Bran. I mean you feel terrible for him at the end. But then again I'd he listened to his mom, none of that would've happened... I think there was another little one but I don't remember his name. Robb didn't really do anything but he seemed kinda douchey. But not like Jamie Lannister level douchey. And oh yeah speaking of Lannisters, I really hate those guys. Especially Jamie. Every time I see him I just want to punch him in the face. Actually, from here on out I'm calling him Prince Charming because he looks like Prince Charming from Shrek. Miles Finch was good tho I mean you could tell what an outcast he is. But I'm still not sure if his *introductory* scene was all that necessary TBH. And Cersei... like she's a bitch but you still kinda feel bad for her. Like the King is a total asshole and I don't know why Boromir is friends with him. But I'm wondering how no one ever noticed how none of his kids look anything like him. I mean seriously. And I know everyone hates Joffery but IDK he sent bad or at least in this one. Come to think of it, did he even speak? And oh yeah, the other story. Almost forgot. I feel bad for Daenerys (I had to look that one up). She has it even worse than Jon Snow. Her bro (I think that's Son of Mine from Doctor Who) is a total creep and he's pawning her off to an even bigger creep. Like "I'd let them all screw you plus all their horses" Really? At least pretend to care. But I already know what happens to that guy so yeah. The horse man is weird AF and I think they made him talk like Jabba the Hutt on purpose. And that's what I'm gonna call him now. Oh wow, that was a long post. I didn't realize how many characters were in this. Well yeah, sort of a convoluted story but I think I'm getting the gist of it. Lannisters are dicks. They're plotting against King. Kings kids aren't his. King needs Boromir's help. And then Son of Mind is selling his sister to Jabba the Hutt win kingdom. Like anyone prays for his health. His sister sure doesn't. Catelyn has reasons for hating Jon Snow though. And the Lannisters (except Tyrion) are basically the bad guys (as far as real bad guys exist in GOT). And don't worry, Joffery will be annoying soon enough

I did buy the first book when i was in England. Pretty good so far Too bad i'm a slow reader I got the entire series as an ebook on my tablet (I'm a pirate). But I only got to page 400 or something... then I had to read books for school... I actually have to finish my last book now, 150 more pages for tomorrow, so I should probably get back to that. But I guess I could finally continue reading Song of Ice and Fire series soon.

Looking back, Joffrey's really not that bad in Season 1. It's not until after Ned's death (I know that Spider already knew about this) that he really starts to be bad. He's still pretty bad in the beginning though.

From when he lied about the butcher's boy was when I was like "I hate this douche" And yeah, I know pretty much all the deaths as I'm friends with people who've watched for years.

So what storyline are you guys most looking forward to in Season 5? Tyrion meeting Daenerys. I don't know if that will actually happen (I didn't read any spoilers from the books) but judging from the trailer for season 5 it is a possibility.

There's no way the show runners are going to pass up doing that. They released some concept art (or something like that) recently of Tyrion on a ship looking at Drogon. It looked awesome. Looking back, Joffrey's really not that bad in Season 1. It's not until after Ned's death (I know that Spider already knew about this) that he really starts to be bad. Varys is one of my favorite characters.

Game of Thrones Season 1 Review Well let me start off by saying I'm not a huge fan of adaptations of book series. When done wrong, they leave the casual viewer confused and left out. Often enough, you need to have read the books to understand what the hell is going on (see: Harry Potter). That being said, Game of Thrones is a prime example of a book series adaptation done RIGHT. As expected Game of Thrones is very dark. But it isn't off-puttingly dark as some have said. Yep, lots of violence during blood. And yeah, nudity. A lot of nudity. I know those two aspects are what make the show controversial, but in my opinion the show benefits. The controversial stuff is what makes the show feel real and relateable. Westeros seems like our world and is just about as complex. If it tried to avoid stuff like, that it would just feel like safe fantasy fare. That being said, the nudity was bit unnecessary at times. Like I'm not really sure why it had to be there while Littlefinger was telling his already interesting story about the Starks. The acting on this show is phenomenal. Even from the child actors which is surprising. And then the Dothraki who apent all their screen time speaking in a made up language. That doesn't seem fun but you seriously forget that stuff is just made up while watching. The best actor in the hol show is Peter Dinklage. He is hilarious but can also be really dramatic. Then Sean Bean of course is great as always. I want to recognize all the great acting but I'd be typing for hours as it was all really strong. Special stand out to Masie Williams. Best child actor ever. Except maybe that kid from ET... Maybe. So yeah characters. The characters were are really well written. In a world with such a large cast, it seems easy to make some fade to the background and become boring. But not on Game of Thrones. There's probably at least 30 important characters and they all feel real and interesting. The fall of Eddard Stark was so perfectly done. It was sad to see a man be killed for nothing but his honor but the execution (lol) was perfect. We saw that Lord Stark had so many chances to get off that path to ruin. With every steps you just become frustrated with him and want to call him out for not thinking of something (like telling Robert what was going on). But then the fact that a character doesn't think of every bring all at once makes it all that more realistic. King's Landing was all really cool. I still don't understand why Arya was there but it was cool to see her training with Syrio. Like I said before, she had some tremendously acted scenes. I hated Jaime and Ceraei bt they were portrayed really well. And sorta the same deal with Sansa and it was heartbreaking to see her at the end of "Baelor". Robert was an asshooe but you still felt for him because of Ned's sister. That one scene with him and Cersei was great. Varys is awesome. Littlefinger is a douche. That old guy is a douche too. Reply would probably make a better King than Robert so Ned really should've thiught more about joining forces with him. Let's hope Stannis is better. Tyron is probably my favorite character. Extremely funny (I like living) and also good with drama. I liked how he got out of the Eyrie. Bronn's fight was extremely cool. But Catelyn Stark was really stupid. I mean Tyrion moghtve even helped Ned out but she stuck him with her whacko sister. I liked how Tyrion helped out Jon Snow. I'm pretty sure they never see each other again so it was kinda cool to see them hang out at the Wall for a bit. (I was unaware of that part). The Wall was really cool. I liked Jon Snow's development and his struggle to find a place after being a bastard all his life. I'm pretty sure Samwell is based off Samwise. As for the rest of the Starks yet to be mentioned, Robb was boring for a while but was cool at the end. King in the North! Bran's story was sad but I liked how he became friends with the wildling. And there's a brother who I don't care about and I doubt anyone else does. Also Theon is cool. His back story is kinda confusing but I started Season 2 so I get it more. Daenerys's arc was really cool. She just had a great story. Like she started off a weak and obedient sister to her douchey creepy brother. But by the end she's awesome. Dragons are cool. And Khal Drogo was awesome. At the beginning he seemed like some creep but I thought it was great how at the end you really felt bad for him. And well, that's everybody. Right? Oh... Right... Joffrey... Total Dick. Well in short, Game of Thrones Season 1 was great. Settings were great. Acting was great. Large Battles weren't great. Writing was great. So, yeah.

Maybe Stannis could be King and Renly could be Hand of the King. Renly > Deanerys > Rob Stark > Stannis >>>>>> Joffrey I think they could have found some way to work it out between all of Joffrey's enemies. Renly was obviously the best pick for King as he had actually spent all that time on the council and would probably know more about running the kingdoms than anyone else. I'd put him as King and then Stannis at the hand. Or maybe reverse the two. And Robb could be King of the North. Then Balon could get the Iron Islands. Like come on, they could have united and destroyed the Lannisters!

Well by that time King Renly could've already taken over. And then King Robb to the North and King Balon of the Iron Islands. I mean like the entire force of the Seven Kingdoms could easily crush whatever Danerys could get.

Like come on, they could have united and destroyed the Lannisters! I wouldn't say Renly is the best choice. I thought that when I watched the show too, and I hated Stannis for killing him, but in reality, Renly's only got a chance for the throne because he has House Tyrell and the 100,00+ men of the Reach backing him. He says he's the best-suited, and yes, he has a kind heart and inspires love from his men... but he's not the best-suited. He's young, less experienced than Stannis and has no proper claim. Stannis is much better suited as he also served on the council as long as Renly (he fled when Jon Arryn was murdered, because he feared Cersei would kill him too) and is an experienced ruler. Plus, Stannis has the right claim. Renly was a fool and IMO a pawn of the Tyrells. What he should've done was not stand against Stannis but join him as Hand. That would've saved Renly's life, and given the 100,00+ men of the Reach to Stannis who could have easily defeated the Lannisters like that. But Renly's ego was too large and he decided to stand against Stannis... costing his life, and, well, helping the Lannisters.
