Yeah, that's not exactly the smartest move... but apparently it's the first time someone in the western world has been infected with Ebola. In Africa the living conditions are much worse in general, maybe it isn't as deadly for people who live under better circumstances... that's something we can find out now. A better option would have been to take all the equipment and scientists/doctors to Africa instead of bringing it here to find a cure. Scientists even said that they don't have high hopes for finding a cure. I heard the US scientists actually think they found a cure but it is still going through a test-phase... which is stupid. Just use it on the infected people, they're going to die anyway, at least this way they'll have a better chance to survive and even if they die they helped get us closer to the cure to help people with Ebola in the future.

We should block all immigration from disease ridden Africa to deal with this, strangely I don't think any Western governments have actually bothered closing borders... Most Western countries already closed their borders for Africa when borders were first invented... But they should only close the borders from people from the infected areas but still allow people to enter after they have proven to be healthyActually many Western countries today go by a (ridiculous) politically-correct ethic "Let anyone in regardless of the dangers they could pose" . And no, whether the people are proven to be healthy or not, the borders should still remain closed to them. Africa is full of disease and this recent outbreak shows how dangerous the diseases there are, we can't take any risks.

Wait why did the bring this person into a civilized place? The doctor that had the virus... Should keep them in Africa or out in the country somewhere at the very minimum. Why risk the spread of a deadly virus? If it does spread probably best to execute the victims.

Africa is full of disease and this recent outbreak shows how dangerous the diseases there are, we can't take any risks. The Netherlands only let people from war zones or political unstable areas cross the borders, I think that's the case for most of Europe (if it's not stricter). And it's not like all of Africa is filled with diseases, just let people enter unless they have a disease (in which case they shouldn't even be allowed to leave their country).

I'm sure they took safety measures when bringing that doctor to the US.

USA pulled all of its personnel out of the 3 big infected countries. So they're on there own now really. Other countries are following them.

The corpses of the people that died naturally from the disease, yes. And what does it matter if those countries have nothing to offer (which isn't even true)? We could still try to get them a cure. It would benefit the entire world.

They should have given their personnel proper equipment (so they won't get infected) and let them help these people. 2. All three countries have closed their borders entirely but foreigners just leave the country anyway? I really hope all of them were checked for diseases...

I don't think so. You can't get this disease from air, food, or water. The only way to be infected, like AIDS and HIV, is by touching contaminated blood, or their needles. It's basically going to be the Swine Flu, and eventually *hopefully* finds a cure.

Well the virus spread to Nigeria now I believe. So yeas we should isolate all of west Africa till vaccine is made. Probably better to work on protecting the uninflected then curing the infected that have a 65% chance of already dying.

And yes it is an excuse all medical personnel and people we send back when we decide it's time deserve to get a vaccine and cure first. Why would we send people to administer these cures when they havnt received if themselves... Process should be... 1 Give it to personnel going back 2. Give it to people working in hospitals where some patients are coming back to. 3. Then give it to people in Africa.

It's not a mass outbreak really. It's just that the countries have no proper medical facilities. They share almost anything. No clean water, or germx, or anything to help them. They basically just catch it from doing absolutely nothing. My friend's cousin works with the man who's being treated and tested upon to see if he has Ebola. They are pretty sure he doesn't have it since he hasn't come into contact with any blood or saliva, I just think people are exaggerating their symptoms. They basically have the cold or the flu or a fever and think that they have Ebola. They should just contain the citizens of the countries infected, and do whatever they can to help them get better even if there is no cure. But at least the Doctors who STOP touching the needles, their contaminated body. And not touch their blood. They need to be better equip with suits, and gloves. But the countries are so poor that they are just helpless and now it's just a race to cure it before everyone is dead in those countries.
