This stuff is very intriguing, you can't argue with science. I have no doubt that there are aliens. I mean you would have to be really dumb to think that out of this gigantic universe only one small little planet holds life.

I mean you would have to be really dumb to think that out of this gigantic universe only one small little planet holds life. I'm more worried about the fact that we've never seen aliens. They might have killed themselves. For every planet that could support life, but doesn't the chances of our survival get slimmer. It's called the great filter theory, there may be something preventing intelligent life form becoming too intelligent... like nuclear disasters...

Well then... This is worrying... The rate at which technology is advancing and how it's advancing scares me. Soon it will take over our lives. It already did... Google predicted that in 15 years robots will exceed human intelligence and they'll be capable of the same things we are, they might even have obtained consciousness by then. This could either be beneficial for us (we could merge with them to improve ourselves), but would we want that to happen? Would we want to become cyborgs? Or maybe they see us as a problem. Robots would be logical, and logically we're a threat to them... I guess we'll find out within our lifetimes...

The mind control technique also scares me though... enslavement by robots is one thing... but mind control is even scarier... and already exists.

I'm not sure. I mean immortality sounds great and I'd like to live forever... but who I still be myself if I merged with a machine? Would we still be human? Anyway, it's better than enslavement or extremination at the hands of artificial intelligence I suppose.

For now the most important purpose of the technology is to make computers much faster and more secure, but it lays the basic for real teleportation Teleport data? Like a Text Message? Well, no it's much more complicated than that. I believe they managed to teleport some really small particle. I'm not sure what exactly they did (since I'm no scientist) but it's all over the news and it's labeled as a major breakthrough in teleportation technology... so no, it's probably not a text message. But it can be used for text messages in the future. Computers work on 0's and 1's at the moment but with this technology they could add more numbers to that, which will supposedly make computers a lot faster.

I looked it up. What they basically did is transfer information without wires or the internet or any other form of wireless connection. They literally made it disappear and appear at another place, while any other form of transfering data requires uploading and downloading or wires to move through.

Anyway I found this in an article about their discovery: "Computers built of quantum particles entangled at a distance could be to contemporary computers what contemporary computers are to scratch marks on a flat stone." So... that's going to be very useful. These scientist don't believe this method could work on humans though.

Yeah, that's not exactly the smartest move... but apparently it's the first time someone in the western world has been infected with Ebola. In Africa the living conditions are much worse in general, maybe it isn't as deadly for people who live under better circumstances... that's something we can find out now.

We should block all immigration from disease ridden Africa to deal with this, strangely I don't think any Western governments have actually bothered closing borders...

A better option would have been to take all the equipment and scientists/doctors to Africa instead of bringing it here to find a cure. Scientists even said that they don't have high hopes for finding a cure.

Most Western countries already closed their borders for Africa when borders were first invented... But they should only close the borders from people from the infected areas but still allow people to enter after they have proven to be healthy.
