I rewatched the first two. That was a really good two-parter and I liked how everyone got moments to shine. I already rated them tho. I honestly think it's a pretty straight forward Two-Parter, but i did that on purpose because you have to start off simple so the character can have, like you said, moments to shine I'm happy to hear i accomplished that. I also used Fisto for this two-parter because of his presence in ROTI.

Today we continue with one of the more action packed episodes of the season, Episode 4 - Manhuntwww.flickr.com/photos/100712891@N04/sets/72157655114649920I really wanted to have an episode where the Redemption crew goes after Dooku since his capture can mean the end of the Clone Wars. I also needed a good reason for Ravi and the others to come to Cormellia other then the standard 'distress-signal help us obi-wan kenobi' plot so i decided to have Dooku crash on there. It was a fun way to introduce Evangeline and Haracus this way since i think it was an unexpected plot element for audiences who first saw it. This was one of the the episodes that took longest to film because it uses more sets then most episodes. One important factor in this episode i tried to carry throughout it entirely was a quick, action packed pace but still make time for character and worthy introductions. I think i did pretty well in the end. I'm also happy with most effect shots in this one, they turned out nice. And ofcourse it's the first episode to feature a reference to Maverick-Jedi-Valen's Maverick Marshalls wich we had planned so long ahead of filming. Enjoy!

Episode 5 - An Endangered Escortwww.flickr.com/photos/100712891@N04/sets/72157653193980044An episode that was loved by most of you and after rewatching it myself i can see why. It has a very good structure throughout and not having Ravi in most of the episode but instead focusing on Nalyal who hadn't really been flashed out (apart from ROTJK) must've have been refreshing. This method was also applied in The Cyborg but i think this one got more praise because Nalyal wasn't as well known as Cyborg. This episode just kinda came to me out of nowhere but i thought the idea was pretty cool and gave me a good reason to flesh out ol' Narwhal more, a character i always liked and deserved more recognition. Even though that didn't come over to everyone after ROTJK's finale. I also liked exploring Nalyal and Talia's relationship and feelings a bit in this episode. There is a reason they are placed next to eachother (something found in the Character Profiles i posted a while ago) and i wanted to start exploring that here. I think most effect shots and settings in this episode worked out really nice and i was able to use some of my knowledge about animals (from the education i finished yesterday) to the episodes strength. Overall i think this is probably the best structered episode of the season, even though the story is somewhat straight-forward, but i did that on purpose since the Redemption already lost the episode before this one and it's still the beginning of the show. The great defeat is only 4 episodes anyway. I'm happy i decided to do more episodes focusing on a certain character or character after Ep 3 and this one proved that you guys were really into that. Enjoy!

Episode 6 - Vengeancewww.flickr.com/photos/100712891@N04/sets/72157655119245978Probably the least story heavy and note worthy episode of the season but still i think it is a lot of fun to watch. This episode was meant to be nothing else then a cool action packed ride and i think it delivered that, and something extra. After rewatching it myself i noticed how fun this episode actually is. Not in terms of comedy or people having a good time but just the light atmosphere and the sci-fi action make this episode feel really old school to me. Might just be me though but i think if you go in with this mind set you mgith agree with me. Not much to say about this episode other then that it is a lot of fun and since the last few episodes have been story heavy at certain parts i think it was a nice change of pace to go to something light-hearted and fast paced. One of the reason i made this episode a straight forward action one is because the next one, Wiz-Bliz has no action what so ever. So in order to compensate for all your blood lust i carefully put this episode infront of it. Personaly the Junkyard Mecha fight scene is one of my favorite scene's of the season. Everything just went perfect here in writing and filming. Enjoy!

Episode 7: Wiz-Blizwww.flickr.com/photos/100712891@N04/sets/72157653204445133Several episodes in the Clone Wars series had no action at all in them (Senate Spy, Mercy Mission) Yet these episodes still turned out great, showing that characters go a long a way. So i wanted to try something like this out in ROTR and i did that with this episode. The Redemption crew can't just be fighting everyday their out in space right? So an episode like this was a nice balance and brought some realism into the show. Now after that decision was made i purposely took Darren as the main focus of this episode. Even though he wields two guns and wears a mask Darren is not really he action type character to me. Also i could finally answer the question "What the hell is a Wiz-Man?" Something i wanted to do in each of the Rise Games but never found a logical spot for it. So this episode not only served as a great character study for Darren and Ravi's friendship but also the legacy of what Folus left behind after he died in ROTS. Wiz-Man basically means WizardMan. Not much else is too it but ofcourse i had to find a way why Folus/Darren would grant themselves these titles whilst not possessing magical powers themselves. I like how it turned out to be and it even gave some more impact on Folus's death back in 2012 i think. This backstory has been long overdue but i think it made a great episode overall. Just like The Cyborg i believe this was one of the more touching ones. Enjoy!

Episode 8 - A Battle of Equalswww.flickr.com/photos/100712891@N04/sets/72157653204549413Episode 9 - Firestormwww.flickr.com/photos/100712891@N04/sets/72157653204712233This two-parter is very important to me since it basically kickstarted the whole concept of a Rise Series for me. Now, i agree with most that Ep 8 wasn't the best of the series so far but that's because really, it was just a set up for Episode 9 Firestorm wich seemed to have greatly delivered. I'm very grateful of the feedback on Zoldius. I was afraid people wouldn't like him or think he was evil enough to be the main villian of the show. I think shooting the Redemption down was enough for audience to recognize his power and ruthlessness. I think people will very much enjoy his presence in Season 2. Firestorm is one of my favorite episodes since it's a thrill ride from start to finish and shows how far Ravi is willing to go to save the people he, unfortunately, brought in danger himself. I think Ravi is at his most Jedi-like this episode. This is why i tried to make his crawl towards the engine controls as dramatic as possible by making shots of all the characters giving up, except for Ravi. These episodes were born after i saw Star Trek: Into Darkness wich i thought was a masterpiece in sci-fi and made me wanna continue the Rise Series as quickly as possible. But because these episodes feature the main villian reveal and the Redemption itself crushing to earth i placed them later in the season. I mean there would've have been any impact on the audience if i placed them in the beginning somewhere. Episode 8 did have more scenes written but i deleted them because they added nothing then a little extra photo count. I knew from the start this was going to be a short episode compared to the rest because of the speed things went. But i did that on purpose. Everything is set up here really fast but you can still follow and understand everything wich made the pay-off in Firestorm much rewarding i believe. Enjoy!

Episode 10 - The Search For Bigshieldwww.flickr.com/photos/100712891@N04/sets/72157655535462055This is my favorite episode of the Season. Everything just went perfectly here, the filming, the writing and the characters. Everything fell into place. Personally i think i placed this episode in the perfect spot too. I could've easily done a simple 'go get that bad guy' episode and place it somewhere early in the season for random nostalgia. I'm happy i never did this and made this episode incrediblely (well i hope so) emotional. Just like Endangered Escort this episode is one of the best structered so far on the series and i'm very happy about that because this is one of the episodes i didn't want to fall apart. At first i was also afraid that people weren't gonna care about another episode about Ravi but i'm happy to have been proven wrong after seeing the feedback from the audience. Ravi might just be a better character then i thought. Enjoy! And remember: Season 2 starts tomorrow!

I saw the Zoldius 2-parter. Yeah, the first part is definitely weaker but that's cause it's mainly set up and is pretty much STID. Firestorm is awesome though. Even though it bears resemblance to STID, it's different enough and was really well made. I really like the part when the ship's going down and its showing how everyone is reacting to it.

Yeah Episode 8 unfortunately got out weaker then i expected but they can't all be gems. And yes the parter is basically a STID rip-off but like you said i tried to give my own feel to it to make it different somehow. I'm glad the crew reaction got a reaction from you That is my favorite part of the episode.

Really enjoyed "Planet of Despair". There was a lot to like. I wasn't really sure about the episode at the beginning but the plot developed nicely. I liked the whole disease plot line and it made sense as something that the Separatists would do. I liked how the episode and Ravi's decisions contrasted from "The Hunt for Bigshield"as well. I thought that was cleverly done. All in all, really strong premiere and I can't wait for Episode 12!
I'm gonna give it a 9/10.

Finally saw the new episode. Have to give it a 9/10 as well. Favourite part was the ending with Zhan's lightsaber. That was pretty darn cool Also I liked how over the top villainous the Sickimaker was as well, like he came straight out of an episode from the 60's Batman show As a start to the new season, I'd say you really got things moving Ivar. Especially with the little bits of foreshadowing like when Natalie, Daniel and Cameron head out together. Really enjoy those little details.

Episode 11 Trivia: - The 'Despair' part in the title refers to Ravi almost losing Avery and the planet almost losing its people - The Sickmaker was supposed to be a little bit over the top (as Maverick pointed out) because Nuvo Vindi (from the Blue Shadow Virus arc) was that too and this character was based on him and basically his legacy as Vindi was mentioned in the episode. - He even did the classic "I have captured the Heroes so i shall now explain my plan" routine. This was done on purpose. - Daniel, Cameron and Natalie were put together on purpose. As foreshadowment for ROTI - Same goes for Talia and Nalyal. For obvious reasons - I wanted to have an Evangeline hologram in this one (just as in Episode 5) but eventually decided against it since it didn't fit. - This is the longest episode so far by Picture Count with 197 pics - Amongst those present during the debate was Gellen who you might remember from my Pirates Game - The tower fight was really difficult to film - I didn't notice it until now but the leader of Mourndria kinda looks like Denethor from Return of The King - I have never said or writing the word 'Seperatists' as i did in this episode - Zhan vague tells Avery that she will die before Ravi does. This does indeed happen once she is eaten by a giant spider in ROTI - I've been wanting to get this episode quite a lot because it explains where Ravi's purple lightsaber comes from - The Purple Lightsaber was always Zhan's. In ROTI there is a point where Ravi talks to himself/the lightsaber as a reminder to Zhan - As you noticed this episode was a huge contrast in character for Ravi since Search For Bigshield. This was done on purpose to show that Ravi understands Zhan's teachings but is still unable to handle his emotions (as he brutally killed the Sickmaker) when those close to him are done harm - However Zhan still saw the power to control himself in Ravi, an event that finnaly comes to occur at the end of ROTJK
