I was actually hoping for Zaheer to fly in and distract Kuvira when they tried to get into the mech... But unfortunately Zaheer's story is over... for now... He could always return in the comics or possible future series, he is the only Korra villain that is still alive and still wants to reach his goals.

I loved what they did to Kuvira, I loved what they did to Asami's father. And it is interesting Korra mentions that "this is just the beginning, there is so much more I want to learn" indicating that this may not be the last we see of her (Korra comics confirmed).

Now I'll have to wait until Nam sees the finale so I can change my avatar to something more spoilery...

I just loved the Korra and Kuvira talk in the spirit realm. We finally learned why. It was perfect, though I wished it was longer too haha.
The only things I wished happened were a Lin and Su vs Kuvira. And cameos/appearances of Toph, Katara, and Zuko and Izumi. And I wanted more Kuvira at the end with her and Baatar and Suyin.

I really feel like there are so many moments that could have used some extra seconds/minutes from the "Lost episode", but this finale was great regardless. Although I do find it odd that they never did any more with Izumi or the spirits, those were two story elements that went nowhere.

So I was just thinking... These spirit portals allow you to travel across the world quickly (you could get from the south to the north pole within a few minutes). What if they created lots of small portals with spirit vines in a future series (assuming there will be one, which I doubt) and these portals would function as the avatar universe's version of the internet.

Alot of your theories/explanations/should'ves made a lot more sense and would have made the story flow a lot better. Like your theory that Zaheer will help Korra by having the spirits help them. But most of these problems is not with the creators and writers but Nickelodeon. But ignoring all the mistakes or should'ves this was the BEST finale, series finale, and episodes a TV show has to offer for a "childrens" show. But my only complaint was too much Wu

The spirits just said "no" and that is it... no other mention of them... but yeah nickelodeon is the problem... and Wu was annoying... his singing really interrupted the epicness of the finale. Another thing that bothers me though is that there still isn't really balance... Sure, Kuvira has been defeated, but how is that any different than when Unalaq, Amon and Zaheer were defeated? That didn't bring balance either.

Also, I actually liked how they ended things with Korra and Asami... I bet they would have kissed if it wasn't for Nickelodeon's censorship... but still, I think that ending was actually pretty well done and Korra is already getting lots of praise for it because this may be the first "Kid's show" that may have had a homosexual (or bisexual maybe) main character. So I like how progressive this show is, hopefully Korra can inspire other shows to follow that example and to teach tolerance to the next generations.

I just watched it. I am so happy right now. That ending was absolutely PERFECT, and exactly what I wanted. I was hoping Asami and Korra would lean in for a kiss, but no, this was good enough, they love each other and I consider them a couple now.
As for Kuvira... I loved what they did with her. She's the only villain I felt really sorry for. Omg I feel so happy now.

Michael Dimartino (one of the two creators of the avatar universe) posted a link to an article about a woman thanking him for including a homosexual relationship in the series so her homosexual son had an ending he could relate to. I doubt he would have posted that if they didn't mean to imply that Korra and Asami have some sort of relationship. The only thing I really wonder about is whether they wanted to add a kiss or not... it's fine if they didn't because they felt like it wasn't needed... but it would be pretty stupid if Nickelodeon told them they couldn't do it.

The only thing I really wonder about is whether they wanted to add a kiss or not... it's fine if they didn't because they felt like it wasn't needed... but it would be pretty stupid if Nickelodeon told them they couldn't do it. It was heavily hinted at throughout the show so I doubt it wasn't meant to be so. Why would they end off with Asami, who arguably isn't as big as someone like Tenzin? Why have the final scene with Asami over everyone else? Because Korra loves her. It was perfect. And I'm so glad about that link because it's true. Young people who aren't straight don't have much to relate to in cartoons. Whereas LoK just made two bisexual women of colour end up together, one of them being the main character. It's great. Although I'm not sure if Korra is lesbian or bisexual. I think Asami is bi just because she was old enough to know what she was really attracted to when she ended up with Mako... but I feel like Korra was too young and Mako was only a crush that she never understood and believed she wanted because girls are supposed to be with boys. But then she grew and matured and realized Asami was who she loved all along.

But seriously. I say Korra is FAR stronger than Aang. I know that he lost his own people and culture, but he never really knew many of them. But sure he was sad and got over it but Korra.... The first season she lost her bending, and had to deal with political inequality where both sides had good intentions and reasons. While Aang only had to deal with an oppresive tyrant and a classic cliche nation. While in the second season Korra had to fight evil himself, while almost losing her family, but then lost ALL of her past lives. She lost Raava as well. That is seriously hard for an avatar to do but still overcome that without the aid of the past Avatars and Raava herself. Then in Book 3, Korra had to bring a whole nation back, while fighting archaic dangerous group of people, something Aang could have never done. He had no understanding of political problems, while Korra could understand Zaheer's intentions, Aang could not. Then at the climax she was poisoned and fought the entire poison by HERSELF. She had no spiritual water to heal her self like Aang. Then she fought hard in order to end Zaheer, even with the poison. And now she had to go through so many disorders, specifically PTSD and fight her inner self (Kuvira and Nega Korra).
My point is, Aang never understood his rivals intentions or reasons. He never reasoned with them or had to go through the trauma unlike Korra. Korra is literally, the strongest female character. Aang couldn't stop his villains without violence. While Korra she reasoned and understood Kuvira more than anyone else and that's how she was able to defeat her. Korra > Aang.

And season 1 isn't even the best. Well since it's only 22 mins its short enough to keep to my patience... I can't really watch hour shows unless I really like them like Supernatural or Breaking Bad. I don't think I could watch an hour anime show.
