Finally for around to watching ATLA. I know I've seen about 20 episodes or so of the series but that was a while ago so I'm just rewatching them all. I forgot how good this show was. I'm halfway through Book 1 right now. I'll probably finish it by Wednesday. Hopefully I can get to Korra soon. But out of the first 10 episodes, I'd have to say episodes 5,7, and 9 were my favorites (hopefully those are the ones I'm thinking of, I don't remember the titles). But 5 was the Earth King one (Lettuce Lead joke. Brings back memories from years ago ) and Episode 7 was the about Aang meeting the previous Avatar plus a cool opening scene with a blockade. Episode 9 had the pirates. But all of them have been really good for the most part.

LOK Book 4 has rumours of a 4 part finale. Like how they did with "Sozin's Comet part 1-4". The rumored titles are - "The New Nation Part 1: The Goddess Unifying" "The New Nation Part 2: Older Generation" "The New Nation Part 3: Judgement Day" "The New nation Part 4: ... Avatar Korra..." And 13 episodes may be the total for this season + the Series Finale = 4 episodes so technically 17 episodes. I kind of want this to happen

I almost forgot the new episode would be airing today... my math test distracted me from Korra

Well... this is definitely going to be the best season of all avatar series. Even though Kuvira is kinda too evil...
Also, it's a bit weird how the metalbenders actually listened to Varrick...

So, I guess all vines were destroyed in the explosion... this would give Kuvira a good reason to invade the swamp. Either that or she is going to invade Republic City... it also has vines and remember, it was Earth kingdom territory originally... So that may be a more likely option...

UGH The episodes are sooo good but I want more! I wish they were longer! 9.5/10 for this one. Another great fantastic episode. The complexity and realism is so great in this show. But I didn't catch what Kuvira said at the end of the episode? "Begin dismantling...." ?

Kuvira is starting to break, when she was fighting Korra after Korra got the upper hand you can tell she was surprised that she was easily defeated like that. I have a feeling since so far Amon, Zaheer, all have a 3D side to them that Kuvira may turn out like Azula. We might see her start to break and in reality she feels bad for terrorizing her own "adoptive" mother, conquering her own home, and being so evil and she will finally see her ways.
I really hope Toph though now has a reason to come out, does she not realize her daughters are in potential danger? I'm sure the swamp is a major part due to their vines but Toph doesn't seem to care for her daughters since she hasn't bothered to come out yet.

You know, I don't like how out of all seasons they had a good guy on the bad guy's side for this season. IT would have made so much more sense if one of the "good guys" sided with Amon or Zaheer, since they were mostly good people. But Kuvira is an insane dictator... I don't see how Bolin (or anyone else) didn't see that from the start.

Kuvira is a "people person" AKA Azula's technique. Like on the day of black sun Azula knew how to stall, she knew how to poetically speak things to make her enemies break and confront her. Kuvira's learned from the greatest villain

But I think she has a deeper motive for being a "dictator" "bad person". She's going to eventually break. Just like Zaheer did. Just like Amon did. They got overcomed because they didn't think their enemies could overcome them.

I think he is the only villain that didn't become insane near the end... And in Amon's defense, he took away the avatar's bending... how was he supposed to know that it somehow didn't affect airbending, the element she didn't even master yet...

Even if he was aware of Tarrlok's intentions and was capable of stopping him in time, he didn't kill himself... And he didn't break, he was just defeated, like pretty much every villain. He didn't lose his sanity.

Maybe he could sense what Tarrlok was going to do (due to his bloodbending abilities) but even if that was the case he might have been unable to stop him, or perhaps he just gave up at that point.

I think he gave up yeah. Just accepted his death. But I seriously hope Korra goes and visits Zaheer.... Maybe Azula is kept in there as well! This could all tie in together and answer questions too. But I know it's not that likely but I really hope it is.

Like what else would need the type of White Lotus protection? But also in the comics Azula is sort of "good" ish... so I kind of think she leaves prison or her mental facility eventually.

I just got the idea that she could have changed her face with the aid of the face changing spirit in that forest... maybe that was her intention. She changed near the end, perhaps she decided to start a new life with a new face... Either way, they may keep Azula's story for the comics only.

I forget it's been awhile since I read the comics. I kind of want to reread them though. I haven't read the ones that show Toph meeting her father.

My only complaint with this is that there's not enough Lin or Tenzin..

Otherwise, I don't think I'd rank any episode of this Book below an 8.5. So good.

Otherwise, I don't think I'd rank any episode of this Book below an 8.5. So good. IGNS ratings were roughly Episode 1- 8.5 Episode 2- 10 Episode 3- 8 Episode 4- 8.7 Episode 5- 8.3 Episode 6- 8.6 TBH I don't know why they gave The Calling a high 8.7 and the rest lower than that. I thought that was the weakest so far (Still great episode! but not as extraordinary as the rest.) For me I would've said Episode 1- 8.5 Episode 2- 10 Episode 3- 8.6 Episode 4- 8.0 Episode 5- 9.0 Episode 6- 9.2
