I haven't seen Breaking Ranks yet but I've seen all of the ones before it. It's a pretty good series so far. You can tell that it's silencing the haters because their criticisms are getting worse. Hopefully we get some 2 or 3 part arcs soon (although I do like how events that happened in the previous episode are mentioned in the next one).

Not. In your dreams bro. Idk I like all TCW episodes but some episodes can be kinda slow.. Like these definitely beat episodes like Ambush |

Specifically Cloak Of Darkness, Storm on Ryloth, Rookies, Lair Of Grievous, Defenders of Peace, Tresspass, The Hidden Enemy. Rebels won't compare to those, sorry but "Rise of the Old Masters" will not ever compare to season 1 episodes because it wasn't that fantastic. Neither was Breaking Ranks. |

I'm watching this show and I'm trying to keep an open mind about it but it is seriously not as good as some of you are making it out to be. I don't think I'd rank any episode above an 8/10 (maybe Rise, but that'd be generous) and it doesn't compare at all to TCW. It's certainly not a bad show when you look at its target audience, but besides that, it's not that strong.

I'd say:
Episode 1: 6/10
Episode 2: 4/10
Episode 2: 0/10 = worst thing with the Star Wars brand on it since the holiday special
Episode 3: 6,5/10
Those are generous ratings. If I compared it to TCW they would probably be even worse.

I don't think I'll keep watching Rebels for much longer... I'll see how if it improves, if it doesn't I'll just ignore it. And it is definitely not the best animated show right now. But they air it on the internet because it's too complex for a channel like Nickelodeon... and the series has a huge international audience... And 2D can be just a good as 3D animation, in some cases it's better, which is the case with Korra. Korra would look really bad with 3D animation. Also: story > animation... and in Rebels both suck. |

I finally got around to watching the Spark of the Rebellion and it was pretty decent. I'd give it a 6.5
PROS:
- The characters weren't as shallow as I thought they would be. (+++)
- Agent Kallus was a good antagonist. (++)
- The plot flowed quite well. (+++)
CONS:
- A lot of the Imperials just seemed like petty douchebags, not evil tyrants. (--)
- Lacklustre animation especially for the wookies. (--)
- Ezra was annoying. (-)
- Kanan's little talk to Ezra about the force was too derivative from Obi-Wan's conversation with Luke in ANH. (-)
- The repetitive quips of Kanan, Zeb etc were annoying. For example: "Who is that kid?". (-)
I'm going to start watching "Droid in Distress" and "Fighter Flight" soon, will probably post thoughts on them soon after.

Just watched Breaking Ranks, and... it was actually really good. It felt a lot like a TCW episode. If you don't like Rebels then at least watch this one, because it's pretty good. One thing in particular I liked about it was that it was the first episode where the Imperials weren't all portrayed as self centered jerks.
