I think one of the reasons why TCW looked so good was because George Lucas helped fund it. He didn't care if it made money or not, he just wanted to make them (which was also his stance on the movies). Rebels has the risk of not being very profitable so it has less quality animation because of that. It sucks but you just need to deal with it. Anyone have a good link online of where to watch this? TCW made a profit though. So Rebels could have made a profit too, probably even a greater profit since Disney advertised it a lot. I don't think it made that large of a profit. Its animation probably cost a lot and its viewership was slowly declining (Cartoon Network moving its time to Saturday mornings didn't help with that...).

It was roughly 200,000 - 250,000 per episode. The movie had a budget of 8.5 million and that was basically four episodes. I think the budget's more than 200,000. I've heard 1-2 million from some people before. I think we all sort of got spoiled by TCW's animation. Most animated shows don't have animation that's that good. And even if you still think Rebels should spend as much money on episodes as TCW did, you need to take into mind that this is some people's job and the show still needs to make money to keep going.

I'm not sure if they would really need like 50 animators and I'm not sure how much of a difference they would make..

Intersting. I wonder what the budget of Sacrifice was. Yeah either they somehow went over it or they just had less than normal but either way not enough because they had to like give Dooku armor and stuff

Interesting. I wonder what the budget of Sacrifice was. Considering the fact that they couldn't afford Dooku's cape, I'd say it was relatively low. I think that might have been because of Disney interference. I think in the original version Dooku would have had his cape but Disney gave some sort of budget for TCW crew to deal with. But I thought it would have been high because of Sidious' robes, Yoda's cloak, Fiery Darth Bane and Sith Warriors. (It even said this on the Sacrfice guide.) Also why couldn't Dooku just appear without the cloak?

They couldn't make new music either. It was all repeated music. Nothing new. You can tell because the music quality was very low for TCW. (Bonus content wise)

They couldn't afford Dooku's cape because they spent a lot of money on Sidious' cape and on animating Darth Bane. But I still don't get why they had to give Dooku armor... they could have just gave him no cape and it would have worked.

TBH I think I would have preferred if they didn't do the armor since it was sort of random.

I didn't really mind it was a small thing And he looks kind of weird without the cloak as well so I think the armor helped that

I'm sorry but I just couldn't finish the first episode. I was bored with it. It's not that the animation is the problem but it's just so boring to look at. Not too mention the characters make me want to carve my ears out.

I mean... gah. I dunno how to put this. It's not really terrible... but it's not good either. I just hate to watch something like this that is just basically A New Hope. I wanted them to improve and expand the OT. Make Stormtroopers good and deadly. Make the Empire dark not troopers who throw food and ask people for identity and be rude for no apparent reason. Give me a villain that makes me want to hate him. It's hard for me to hate villains but if you give me a reason to hate them (besides character development and animation) than that's good because villains are supposed to be hated. (Besides LOK because their villains have good intentions and are quality complex villains) And I should not hate and find myself clawing my eyes out over the protagonists, aka Ezra. The storyline is so bad, there's no motivation or drive that's keeping these protagonists from going, besides "helping people" from the "villains". I know it is just a kids show but they should be trying to impress fans that stuck with the series for awhile not some new kiddies who probably have no clue who Darth Vader is or who the fudge is Obi Wan, or have no clue what Clones and the Prequels were.

I get the feeling Disney is never going to mention the prequels or clones again anyway. And I think villains are not supposed to be hated, at least they shouldn't just be hated. They should have a good side, that makes them more realistic, like the villains in Game of Thrones and Legend of Korra. If you see these scenes with Zaheer and P'li in Legend of Korra you don't think "I hate this guy, he's truly evil" which makes it realistic and more interesting to watch than when you have a villain that's just purely evil and kicks humans being to their death for fun (like Agent Kallus did).
