Some set pics www.denofgeek.com/tv/star-wars-obi-wan-kenobi-set-photos-villains/Nothing crazy but I guess Indira Varma is confirmed as an officer and we know there will be an imperial presence in the show (which Ewan already said in an interview). Also I figured Obi would have longer hair this time because every interview Ewan has done he's had longer hair but tbh I was kinda hoping for more closer to the ROTS look. Really curious what his outfit looks like it's funny they have to wear those black cloaks when walking around set lol

Might have a sort of visual transition towards looking more like Alec Guinness.

Supposedly trailer will drop on Disney+ day on the 12th. Very surprising if that's true as it seems like for Star Wars they always wait until the last minute to do any kind of promotion like two months before it comes out and I feel like there's still some more time until this show will come out. Or maybe not... But either way I think it might just be a very small tease, something similar to the KOTOR tease. Not a proper trailer
Also idk if you guys heard but there were some leaked/rumored plot details. Supposedly Obi-Wan will be asked to rescue some important prisoner and during the rescue he dispatches some Inquisitors before battling Vader. It's supposed to be some big duel that took a long time to film so perhaps it's toward the end of the show. I also heard Cody was supposed to have a role in searching for Kenobi but he might've been cut out and replaced with Inquisitors

A trailer dropped apparently that showed concept art. No footage just yet, but I'm telling you now, I am officially getting hyped for this. I just want to see whether we're getting Clone Wars flashbacks or not.

Holy I thought this show was 2023? It’s May 25th!?!
I’m pretty excited to see Obi-Wan and Anakin again. But looking at casting there’s a bunch of casting for Inquisitors as well. I wonder if there’s separate plots some following Vader and some following Kenobi.
Also really hope we see Qui Gon

Not sure if these are actually taken directly from the series though. I'm pretty sure EW shared some first looks for Mando season 2 and they weren't exactly the same as what was in the final cut Not too much to go off though. Ewan looks good and I'm actually looking forward to seeing Uncle Owen. Inquisitor Reva is interesting though. Breaks the numbered sister/brother theme they had going on. Kinda hope Obi or Vader kills her tbh lol. There's rumors that the Grand Inquisitor will appear which I'd be much more excited for. It'd be great if he's played by Jason Isaacs. There's some more rumors that the show will open with order 66 in the temple. A couple of masters will sacrifice themselves to save their padawans. And maybe one of those apprentices goes looking for Obi-Wan (Kumail Nanjiani perhaps?). That would be a badass opener even more so if Anakin is actually in that scene.

I can't focus on anything other than how bad Grand Inquisitor looks lmao. Seriously what is up with his head it looks like a fan made costume. Did they not get Jason Isaacs?

I think (or hope) they are taking some material from Fallen Order. They appear to be using Fortress Inquisitorious on Nur. Hoping for some Purge Troopers. Fifth Brother from Rebels is also there
I think the obvious way to write this story is like the Holocaust period with Nazis hunting Jews and the sympathizers hiding them. I'm interested in seeing that inspiration in Star Wars but tbh does it have to be Obi-Wan? Without knowing the rest of the story, I feel like that premise could be done with any new Jedi character. I'd rather see new characters hiding Jedi survivors rather than the Lars protecting Obi-Wan.
I also feel like there may be a A/B plot going on I guess like the OT. Obi-Wan doing stuff and then the Inquisitorious looking for him or someone else. Eventually the storylines will converge if Vader and Obi-Wan are to meet

Grand Inquisitor aside, I am really keen to see how this plays out. Think they're hiding a lot though (like flashbacks, Vader, etc.). However, I just feel like realistically Obi-Wan wouldn't have trouble fighting Inquisitors. They just always seem on such a lower level lol

At least that’s the plot that’s makes the most sense to me why he would leave his exile on Tatooine, if it’s in the interest of Luke it’s justifiable.

And I think a show like this might help quell some prequel hate although even since the sequels they have been loved a lot more

Apparently Maul was the original concept but replaced with Vader during rewrites, probably couldn’t make it work without retconning Rebels.
I think I prefer Vader, the whole hunting for Jedi concept makes sense over Mauls personal vendetta 25 years later… and I feel like a 6 episode plot about Maul looking for Kenobi only to end in a very predictable fashion would have dragged.

Would be nice if they just said screw Rebels and did like a second series of this with Maul lol Stil, I think it's for the best they went with Vader. Adds more emotional stake to it in the end and it means Hayden gets his big redemption comeback

If they put him in this show it would probably be Duel of the Fates 2.0 or something. I’m wondering if we might see Ahsoka in this show, I kinda don’t want to but it’s possible. Or any other Jedi for that matter, I guess they could reasonably due Yoda in the present day without making it seem weird as long as he doesn’t leave Dagobah.

It never sat well with me that they killed him off on a show that kind of made it less of the major moment it should have been exposure wise

I think siege of Mandalore was adapted to fit around Rebels and what not. They are pretty good at keeping secrets though. There was no indication at all we were getting a CGI Luke in the sequel shows and Bane was kinda surprising.

So many shots of the Inquisitors just walking lol. And why did they use that terrible shot of the Grand Inquisitor again when everyone has been complaining about it? Also I wish they didn't change the purge trooper helmets. And I think Reva is going to be a cringe character...

I can already see how this story play out now - Reva, trying to curry favour, tries to doggedly find Obi-Wan for Vader, perhaps even kidnapping Leia to draw him out even. To be honest, like Obi, I've got a nervous feeling she'll be another dud of a Disney Star Wars OC that gets in the way of the plot and characters we prefer to see

It just occurred to me how ridiculous it is for Obi-Wan to be making this much noise. Instead of staying in hiding and guarding Luke as he is supposed to be doing, he's going to different planets and drawing massive amounts of attention. So basically everyone in the Empire as well as everyone who pays attention to the bounties they issue will know Obi-Wan is alive? Kinda doesn't make sense to me...
People are arguing over the rematch with Vader but I'm kinda less bothered by that. The heat on Obi-Wan is more weird to me. I think it would've been better if the main character was some new young Jedi survivor. Someone like Cal Kestis, who is going around the galaxy sorta wreaking havoc and then at the end he is killed by the Empire. I imagine Obi has to fake his death or something a second time if the Empire just lets him go back to Tatooine
Yeah tbh as much as I want to see Ewan and Hayden again, I will be surprised if this show is actually good lol.

I think the show will honestly be really good. I think theres potential for a good story despite the reservations for the Vader vs Kenobi conflict. I think you can say its ridiculous that Kenobi would leave Tatooine, but at the same time it seems weird he wouldn't have a reason to leave over the span of 20 years where the previous 15 were extremely eventful for him.

Been seeing press stuff Ewan and Hayden have been doing and it's kind of funny seeing how you can tell Hayden's got that "How the hell did I get here?" feeling lol Honestly, genuinely happy to see him get this kind of positive attention. Really hope above all else he knocks it out of the park here

Kinda mid. First episode was better than the second. Things that were weird to me:
- Very long 5 minute recap as if no one remembers the prequels
- Temple scene is irrelevant unless there's more later and it's revealed Reva was one of the padawans
- Luke's T-16 toy didn't need a dumb backstory it's the Solo dice all over again
- Why the sudden change of heart for Kumail Nanjiani? Wasn't believable
- Why does Obi-Wan have to ask Leia how old she is?
- How can Leia figure out the Inquisitors' entire plan but not consider there might be a bounty on Obi-Wan because he's a Jedi
- Reva knowing Vader is Anakin is bad. I don't really mind the character otherwise (her parkour scene was stupid) but this being how Obi-Wan found out about Vader was super underwhelming
- Lack of aliens
Also I was kinda laughing at too many things. Why does this feel like a comedy lol? Basically predicting Solo but a tv show and it'll have the same issues. Honestly I think I'd rather have had 6 episodes on Tatooine with Obi-Wan fighting Tuskens or something. Would've meant more Owen too who was fantastic. Still not convinced they have a story to tell.

I actually quite liked episode 1. It’s cool seeing Kenobi actually doing little jobs rather then just sitting out being a hermit all the time. Tatooine here seemed better portrayed then the other shows as well imo, seemed a little more real or more like the movies at least, although there needed to be more aliens in the town. But I’m pretty sure it was originally a human colony anyway. Owen was really good.
Episode 2 is a little weird, third sister is kind of an idiot and I was hoping Kenobi would be more powerful…. Idk I can understand in ANH him being weak but Maul was literally a spider for 10 years and came back strong. I guess that could have been the nightsister magic as well but still he should be stronger. I do like we will almost certainly get a Qui-Gon cameo(s) though. I’d also really like a Palpatine cameo with Vader.
Honestly I feel like this show might be setting up a Vader show more then anything… also I’m not sure if she actually knows he’s Anakin or if that was just to taunt Kenobi. I don’t know why she would know that but she might have seen him at the temple I guess.

I do kinda like how the new canon portrays Vader as an urban legend so to speak. No content we’ve seen him in so far portrays him as being a well known person. The ghost crew didn’t know him, neither did the Mantis crew. He just kinda appears and does his thing.
