Honestly tho this might be the best thing to come out of Disney Star Wars (TCW S7 doesn't count) All it has to do is be less cringy than Rebels and less soulless than Mando. True. I just want it to tell its stories well and not rush through them or drop them like Rebels. It'd be great if they bring back the arc format

It'd be great if they bring back the arc format I'd honestly prefer it if it weren't about the Bad Batch and just went through arcs detailing surviving Jedi like Vos. Sure, you can do the stuff with the clones as well, but hinging a whole show on characters no one in the fanbase has really fallen in love with is just taking a good idea and slightly spoiling it.

I'm not sure how much I even want to see this era of Star Wars anymore. Rebels was a swing and a miss, but I spent enough time there to get over the whole Empire-controlled-galaxy aesthetic. Just don't find it very interesting anymore.

Disney's milked out this era way too much over the years and to make matters worse most of the content set during that time isn't even very good... I think I'd be a lot happier to keep on exploring this part of the timeline if stuff like Rebels was actually decent, or, y'know, didn't even exist

I guess a lot of people want to fill in the gaps in Ahsoka and Rex's stories but I don't really care. Like they were interesting and then became uninteresting. Don't need to see how it happened.

To be honest, I think they're getting way too overexposed now. There were plenty other interesting people during the time right after Order 66, but it seems Disney and Dave are far too keen on focusing on the same people over and over again.

Yeah and we’re gonna see them again in Mando. This is just such a weird way to consume a story. The only excitement is to see whether it’s possible to make them more boring than they were in Rebels.

I've got mixed feelings. On one hand I agree there has been more than enough coverage of this time period but on the other, I think there's still things to explore and ways to make it interesting. Especially since this show will explore clones in this time, that's something we haven't really gotten before.
I do think it's a fun time period with a lot you can do with it. I think going somewhere else like pre-prequels or something is a little harder to get right. But I guess that could totally be a reason they stick with the imperial age because they're creatively bankrupt lol

Would be weird to focus back on the prequel era after TCW. They fucked up the sequel era by making it a boring retread of the OT. The plan probably was to focus there but everyone hates it now.

I guess it would be cool to see The Old Republic era. I’ve never played the games or anything but it seems like a really cool period.
Then again they’d probably fuck it up if they can’t even get their own era right. So best not.

Fennec was also shown recently. People have complained about her look but I think they nailed it. It looks like a younger stylized version of Ming Na Wen which is the best you can do

Cause I think Sabine was supposed to be more Asian then she looks tbh it’s not something that was really pulled off much in TCW either. I don’t think Fennec looks too bad but that thought comes to mind.

Honestly the animation being literally clone wars animation still surprises me, I think this will be a good series with some fun adventures. And if it does well like season 7 did on Disney + maybe all shows get this animation going forward although for this time period it’s super easy to reuse existing assets or unfinished stuff they had

I thought they were going with the TCW art style... this looks like something out of a PS2 game...

Man they put Rex in so casually lol. Well I think he was rumored and pretty obvious to show up anyway but still I'm glad I think we'll probably see Wolffe and Gregor too. And was that Saw? That was a surprise and they made him closer to the TCW appearance than Rogue One/Rebels/Fallen Order. Which makes sense I guess but seriously it's weird how much his appearance changes it's stranger than Obi-Wan from 3 to 4 lol.

Trailer looks pretty good, glad that we'll see a few characters from TCW. It's cool that Saw's original voice actor is back, I think they can do a lot with his character in this series. The premiere will be 70 mins also.

I don't know, there's just nothing there that's hooking me. I was halfway expecting some sweet reveal at the end, but instead it was nothing except for a very much expected confirmation of Rex being in it. All the other reappearing characters aren't ones I care much about either.

The premiere will be 70 mins also. 70 minutes holy shit. I think even Mando's longest episode was under an hour. That is kind of strangely long for an animated show though... Not complaining though lol. Just guessing here but I think this special may wrap up the Clone War and it's where we see the final clone vs droid skirmishes and those AT-TE battle scenes from the trailer. In fact most of the trailer I'm guessing will be from this special I don't know, there's just nothing there that's hooking me. I was halfway expecting some sweet reveal at the end, but instead it was nothing except for a very much expected confirmation of Rex being in it. All the other reappearing characters aren't ones I care much about either. I am mainly just interested in the worldbuilding and them filling in the timeline holes with the war aftermath. Though I feel like the Batch characters themselves may grow on me. I'm pretty excited tbh though it's probably because this will be the first Star Wars content after a bit of a dry spell

I’m pretty excited for this, I’m like 90% certain we will see some cool characters like Bane and Boba at some point too,
Also 70 mins is a lot, how long was the clone wars movie? Like 90-100?

TCW movie was around 90 mins (4 episodes), plus the credits that accompany a theatrical film. So I imagine that the Bad Batch premiere will be equivalent to a 3 episode pilot. Hopefully it's a lot better than TCW movie.

Actually, they might just wrap that bounty hunter arc with Cad and Boba into this if they wanted. It would need a bit of rewriting, but I think it's not impossible.

Meh, the unfinished TCW arc is still canon officially. So Bane is likely dead. Boba is going to be in it for sure though.

Apparently this might go for 14 episodes or more. Even if that includes the 70 minute premiere being a string of episodes, that's still WAY more than I ever anticipated.
