We still have all of November and half of December but as Star said it may or may not be on purpose. I think we'll get at least one more before the movie. The one we got was just enough to keep me hooked. I want more though .

!!!!. That was amazing. Man that gets me excited for this film. Saruman said he would go after Sauron alone. I wonder if that leads him to a defeat, prompting his choice to betray his friends in the LOTR trilogy because he realized that Sauron qs to strong to win against. This part should be interesting , can't wait!

A few thoughts (of many more to come): - The music in this trailer is outstanding! - Thranduil's line "I came to reclaim something of mine" is so badass along with the music right after as it swiftly turns darker. Gives me chills - all of the army shots look amazing - looks like we'll be getting a nice variety of orc soldiers - I'm glad they're including the bats like in the book - is that the 9 at 0:57? - Elrond looks epic at 1:00 - Saruman saying "Leave Saroun to me" sounds a little cheesy, but that's alright considering the potential of that confrontation between the two. I really hope that it shows Saruman admiring Sauron's powers as well as realizing the Dark Lord is so mighty that it begins his fall to the Enemy. Plus I just want to see Saruman actually fight - White Council in action is gonna be awesome!!! - I like how Dwalin and Kili each say lines about how greedy and obsessed Thorin has become (just like Bilbo said) - looks like there'll be a lot of Thranduil much of which will have him pitted with Bard against the dwarves - lake-town scenes look like a good enough action scene to be the climax of any movie. But since it isn't, this just shows how epic this movie will be! - looks like some Kili and Tauriel scenes again. Hopefully they aren't too frequent or long but I have a feeling that since Tauriel will most likely die, they're trying to make this more emotional. Especially with Kili not making it either - Tauriel vs Thranduil? He looks pretty mad at her at 1:47 - 1:48 looks like Azog. But he looks kinda different. Maybe that's just me, but IDK. He does appear to have armor though - I'm not quite sure what 1:51 is (probably part of lead up to battle) but it certainly looked cool - lol ugly orc at 1:51 - lol demonic orc eyes at 1:52 with Bilbo - at 1:52 and some other parts though, it looks like they'll be fighting at more places then just the Lonely Mountain. I'm assuming that's Dale...? - Azog vs Thorin again at 1:54. Wonder how that'll go... - Bolg throwing Tauriel lol that made me smile - Legolas is being flamboyant as usual during 2:04 (that was a pretty sick spin move on the icy ground though) - more awesome battle shots Yeah, this looks epic.

Didn't mean to make the list that long. I got carried away... I'll quote your long list here since this post is shorter . Music was great and timed perfectly. More than that it seems like we will be getting a lot from this movie. I'm excited, lots of action, sequence and conflicts. We get to see both Elrond and Saruman fight on a mission, which we haven't seen such a thing ever from either of them before. I like how they chose Dwalin to speak up to Thorin. I always thought of him and Balin as his right hand mans. So for him to say those things about Throin really adds to the effect. And if Saruman and Sauron fight! On top of the five armies battle and even possibly seeing Beorn in action in his bear form as well. I'm so seeing this in IMAX 3D .

If you pause the trailer at 1:47, you can see Thrandrial striking his sword at Tauriel. I wonder why, I thought they were close but I'm interested to see why and what they fight over. Your thoughts?

Yeah I pointed that out in my thoughts. And honestly, I'm not too sure. Maybe something to do with Kili? Perhaps she helped the dwarves or betrayed the elves and men, somewhat like how Bilbo does except the other way around.

Oh, Christopher Lee's going to be so epic from what I see in this trailer, I can feel it in my bones. I know stretching this book into three huge movies was a bad idea, but god this could be the pay off I've been waiting for

I was watching a scene from the extended version of Desolation of Smaug. There was a scene were Gandalf finds and speaks withThrain who was imprisoned in Gol Dur. If you haven't watched it, which I'm surest have, it's on YouTube. For those who have why didn't Thrain advise his son to entree mountain ? Because of the dragon or some other reason? Last, Azog took a ring off the hand of Thrain during the battle of the mines of Moira it said in a flashback scene. Thrain said "they took it" and then Gandalf said " the last of the 7". It would make sense if it wre 9 to summon the nine Nazgul but what seven things?

That she better die. She may, but I don't think they will kill off both Kili and Tauriel. The romance stuff is just for ratings to appeal for more audience but I don't think it belongs in the Hobbit. It fit with LOTR with Aragorn needing a queen but this is pointless love. If anything I think Tauriel should be Legolas' girl.

But even still what advantage would that give the enemy even if they did have all seven? Wasn't it Saurons plan from the begging to give those seven rings to them so he could use the ring of power to control the other rings and in turn the dwarf race? Why collect them though.

*****SPOILERS AHEAD*****
I really hope that Smaug doesn't die too early. That's the only thing I could see running the movie for me. There's some speculations floating about saying that Samug will be dead with the first 5-15 mins. I know they intend to open the movie with him burning Lake-town, but I hope it isn't too quick. I would hope for at least 20-30 mins. But then again, if the whole beginning is dedicated to just that, maybe it will feel longer? IDK, it just feels weird to have him die so early in this third film even though he's no longer the main focus compared to the second.
And on another note, I hope the Dol Guldur scenes aren't too brief like they were in DOS. Still, I think they'll be among the coolest in the movie.

In the last trailer you can see Thranduil slash his sword past Tauriel's lower area while he has an angry expression and blood on his face. Later in the trailer Tauriel lays down on the ground looking up, crying and holding her stomach as if though she has been cut by a sword. These two things appear to happen at the same location in the trailer. Does Thranduil kill Tauriel i wonder now.

As you said the two scenes seem to be placed beside each other. Maybe, just spit balling, Kili comes to her aid shortly after her injury and he fights Thrandrial in order to save her. That seems unlikely but maybe because scenes do seem like they are right next t each other. If you have a stomach wound that bad you wouldn't libations long anyway, so more than likely they are.

Anyway, when she's 'holding her stomach' she was in fact holding Kili. You can sort of see his body.

I want to see this the first day it comes out in theaters. It probably won't be until like January until I see it however it would be nice to see it as the first viewers. I'm really excited to see this. This last chapter looks really cool. I remember how amazing the last chapter of the LOTR trilogy was back in 03. That was with old technology as well. I can't wait to see the epic conclusion we have awaiting. BTW as a side note has any ever sat in theaters in the very first row, lol I wonder what it's like.
