Tbh I probably couldn't do that Id be too excited for the last one and I can hardly sit through one movie anyways It depends on the movie for me. Other than Star Wars, Hobbit/LOTR, Marvel and a few war movies here and there I'm typically not a big movie guy. If I don't like the movie I get antsy. I'm more of a show type of guy. But theaters are always fun to go no matter the movie, as long as it isn't as drawn out as "if I stay" or etc.

So I'm hearing a few rumors from reviews by critics that the scene where Smaug burns Lake-town is only before the title card plays. That would mean roughly 5 mins. I really hope this isn't the case. That's way too short IMO for that epic scene.

Anyone who read the book knows what it's about.

I'm just worried it'll be rushed or anticlimactic to see Smaug go either before the title card plays or immediately after. Too bad there isn't a flashback scene or anything with this film either. That's going to make the beginning of this one feel really weird since every other Middle-Earth film had one.

And LOL, I know the narration is funny/stupid, but this TV Spot has a lot of new clips in it.

Cool clips but I get the feeling there will be some scenes that are too short but should be longer.

I agree to burn a whole town and have Bars shoot and hunt down a dragon is a little much for only a five minute period. 10 woul have been better IMO but 20 minutes woul be to long. The main focus of DOS was Skaug by ibis lay part the main focus is on the battle of the five armies and the thickening Sauron plot. He IMO is only in there to gap the two movies together from where the last one left off.

But the graphics in this series so far has been outstanding so far, more so in DOS.

There is, but still, that scene deserves more than 5 mins. Some other things I hope they don't rush are Bilbo with the Arkenstone/elves along with the Dol Guldur scenes and the dwarves inside Erebor for certain parts. I'm sure the battle itself will be plenty long at 45 mins and taking up almost half the film.

They did for least te first two movies. I hope they prolong the Sauron and Sauruman scene. I'm looking Most forward to that.

But overall, how was the movie? And how would you compare it to the first 2 of the trilogy and even all 6 films combined? I assume the battle was a masterpiece.

And how would you compare it to the first 2 of the trilogy and even all 6 films combined? I assume the battle was a masterpiece. You won't easily hear me say this, but it got a little too CGI-heavy at points and, if your read the book, leave the knowledge of the book at home. Overall it is a thrill ride like every Middle-Earth movie with great performances and, yes indeed, masterful action sequences. It neatly ties in with Fellowship of The Ring at the end and after seeing the movie i understand the title change for this one. The movie is all about the battle that is to come and then unfolds before them. It is awesome! Although i can continue to praise it, i thought it was the lesser of the 6 films. Don't get me wrong i still loved and i would give a 10 just like all other Middle-Earth movies. But all combined, this was the lesser one for me.

I was watching some clips on YouTube for the Battle of The Five armies. On a comentary it said that Sauron fixes his eye on the mountain and strikes it. Whatever happened to the book where there were no orcs in the Battle of the Five armies? What happened to the goblins being the ones attacking the mountain for the treasure and seeking revenge for the Goblin kings death. What happened to that being the reason all the armies United to face the Goblins as a common enemy? Hopefuly Beorn in bear form appears, at least.

Just came back from seeing The Hobbit. What a great film and end to not only the trilogy, but the saga itself. I may post a review later on pros and cons of it as well as favorite parts, characters, etc., but let me just say that it was magnificent and the battle was possibly better than the one in ROTK.

Saw the Hobbit. Yeah I've been kinda critical of the whole bloating the movies into three hours, but it was worth it to get that awesome final chapter right there. My sister cried.

I saw this a few days ago and thought it was pretty good! It was mostly what I was expecting, but I thought it was a fitting end for the trilogy. I also made sure to stay through The Last Goodbye song during the credits.

Never seen it yet but I don't think there's any chance it's better than ROTK. But I didn't like two towers much so yeah it isn't easy to pick an option...

As of now , it's my favorite movie of the Hobbit ones. But that may change after a few months once the hype has died down. Not sure how to compare it to LOTR though. I feel like this film is a need-to-watch on the extended edition, cause it felt like a lot was skipped over near the beginning and end. Radagast possibly dying, Saruman and Sauron , and Bard becoming king just to name a few.

Im on my way to see this tonight. From the reveiws i saw above it seems to be pretty cool. I'm excited to see it. Does it explain the 60 year loophole when the movie wraps up?
