img style="max-width:100%;" alt="OC do not steal" src="https://i.imgur.com/o9xwzGl.png" my OC do not steal I loved Admiral Raddus... I was expecting him just to be in the background for a few shots, so the size of his role surprised me. I think I like him better than Ackbar, actually. Hopefully he survived! 2 things could have happened to him... 1. Vader kills him when he boards his ship 2. He's captured and is taken to be imprisoned in the nearest base, the Death Star. both ways...

So I wonder who of the Ghost crew was still alive at this point, they only mentioned/ showed the obvious safe choices being Hera and Chopper. Though technically General Syndulla could be her father as well, I could definitely see him joining the alliance if Hera died.
Kanan and Ezra should be dead by this point IMO...

Finally saw it. Entered with low expectations, walked out impressed. The typical war movie "They all died" ending felt like a real cop out though, but the spectacle was astonishing. I also loved the set design. It wasn't quite as much of a hipster grunge fest I was thinking it would be. Jedha was a great place. The creature design was so cool there. And we finally got Vader's castle. Freaking. Finally. Okay, it's not Vjun, but Mustafar more than suffice. Forcing Vader's house to be the same place as the one where his life got ruined is possibly the greatest of Palpatine's trolling moments. The CGI cameos were okay, if not a little creepy. I think it might have worked better if Tarkin's role had more a Blofeld effect added to it. As for Vader, well for what he was given, he had the most presence. Sure all his scenes were fanservice, but is that kind of fanservice really deserving of stigma? I mean those last few minutes of the film were simply breath taking. I will forever read Episode IV's opening crawl in a whole new way. Still, the Jedi/Sith/Force, space mumbo jumbo makes up a large part of why I love this series, so seeing barely any of it here does dampen it slightly. I still think Vader should've had a much larger role that hovered over Krennic (who by the way felt like a petulant child at times). It was a good film though. Definitely not the best in the series, but a sterling effort.

IMO it would have been a cop out if they all lived or if only one or two of them died. But yeah, this movie does make me look at the crawl in A New Hope and ANH itself in a new way.

I just watched Angry Joes spoiler review...
A few things they pointed out but Rouge One fills in the Death Star question quite well. Why did it take so long to build? And well it really didn't take so long, they had most of it already built, it was just the laser aspect they couldn't figure out, which is why Galen had too come back. That last part they add on during the film just took them a long time.
Which makes sense as too why the second Death Star was really quick since they had that solved.
And I really liked the X-Wing pilots in this film, they where all mid age white guys with mustaches, quite classic lol. I noticed that when I was watching that THESE where real X-Wing pilots that I remember.

Finally saw it. It was good but honestly I was expecting a lot more.... I kind of got spoiled on a lot of things like everyone dying, Vader's scenes, etc. but it was still cool to actually see. I liked all the Easter eggs, you guys mentioned most of the ones I noticed except like the blue milk. Turbo Tank was cool as well I was thinking they were phased out and replaced with walkers but I guess they serve other purposes.
The death troopers were badass mostly because of their like scrambled comms or whatever that was... I wish we saw some more of them there's a lot of theories going around about them.
But I don't think everyone needed to die... Maybe Chirrut, Baze, and the pilot (Bodhi?) but Jyn and Cassian at least could've lived along with K2SO. I really wanted Chirrut to face Vader only to be killed by him but whatever. I really wanted Vader on the beach actually but idk maybe he wouldn't have had time to escape...

And I'm glad they're bringing Saw back in Rebels, he was really weird in this so some background for his Rogue One role would be good...
And the CGI characters weren't bad I didn't expect Tarkin to have that much of a role. I'm sure that was hard to do but it was worth it.

More things:
Did Jyn have a kyber crystal necklace? I wonder if they had originally intended to do something with that.. And if Chirrut could use the force to see I think he could've used it to push that master switch....... It would've been interesting if he considered himself a Jedi rather than just being weird..
I think the movie would've been better if they didn't do all those reshoots and went with the original war movie thing.

One more post...
The music......
When they first announced Michael Giacchino was composing the score for this I was excited. He's made good stuff in Lost and Mission Impossible, but most notably Star Trek
But here... I was disappointed. There wasn't really a main theme.. He could've just done a different take of the Star Wars theme but he didn't, there were only hints of it. Along with more hints of Empire themes... I so badly wanted an Imperial March soundtrack similar to the music in the trailers but nope... ugh :\

I wonder if Vader remained in the bacta tank for like years, he would be able to regrow his limbs.... Idk if bacta is that strong i feel like it doesn't really work on full limbs although it does regrow like nerves and fingernails and whatnot according to wookieepedia....
If it would be able to heal him, I'm sure the Emperor would be keeping him very busy so he's hardly in his castle. But his burns on his head are not as bad in ROTJ probably because of it

Also I kind of liked "be careful not to choke on your aspirations, director"
I feel like that's something Anakin would say...

This track and Jyn's theme are really damn good though:

I don't really remember Jyn's theme... Overall the music is good but not exactly "memorable"... Imperial suite is good but I wish it was like the Imperial Marches from the trailer... My favorites are Hope and Krennic's Aspirations... So the Vader scenes...

Just finished building the Imperial Hovertank set from the movie, a shame this didn't get more screen time.
But the set it honestly amazing IMO for the price, the design, missle system and the little clear wheels to make it look like it's floating is really good and makes it much more interactive. Chirrut is a prettt good figure with lots of accessories, overall one of the best sets I've built in a long time

The first time I watched the movie, I didn't even realize that Krennic was on the top of that tower that got directly zapped by the superlaser. It was a pretty fitting death for him though, and I liked how he had a moment to realize that he's going to be killed by the thing he helped create.

I have Catalyst but I've only read like 70 pages so far... but it's pretty good. There's one chapter early on where the Republic Weapons Division is talking about the Death Star's construction and the entire chapter is basically just easter eggs and facts (and I mean this in a good way because I like it when the lore's expanded).

Jyn' mother was originally going to be a Jedi and she would've been shown getting killed at the end of the clone war
I wonder if we would've seen clones that would've been awesome

I think this is one of my top favorite movies it just got everything right... But honestly I wish they didn't kill everyone... Their reasoning was we don't see them later so they all need to die. Not true... But okay they could've killed Rogue One for the "suicide mission" but kept Krennic... Well actually maybe not because he was absent from the meeting on the Death Star in ANH..
But anyways, besides the Vader hallway scene I liked that flashback where it showed Krennic and Galen and Lyra just chilling... That was kinda cool how they were all friends and they'd just get together from time to time it felt normal and something different from the usual war state.
Also was that Raddus' ship Vader boards in the end? I guess he killed Raddus then. Not even he survived...

Not because they are not in the movies, that did not seem like an issue. But it made the Death Star plans more significant due to the sacrifice and the Empire would have appeared quite weak if they all got out alive.

At first, I wasn't sure if I liked it better than The Force Awakens, but now I can definitely say that I like Rogue One more.
