Just as Ellus Cimber solved the riddle written on the tablet, someone approached them. It was the man that had spoken to all of them during their watches. He was holding a staff with a skull on it and wearing a mask similar to the one the adventurers had found just before they were ambushed by skeletons. The adventurers drew their weapons but didn't attack, first they wanted to hear what this man had to say.
"Greeting adventurers. My name is Caedes Pythone. I'm impressed by how far you've made it. Unfortunately, there is nothing to find for you here but dead. I gave each of you the opportunity to hand over one of your friends to me, but every single one of you refused, no matter what I offered them. That is truly admirable, I suspect you got close to each other during your journey, but I think you might regret making these decisions. A you have figured out by now, a sacrifice has to be made. This sacrifice is necessary to protect this forest. In the Shadow Woods are the place from which all necromancer magic comes. If there is no sacrifice there can be no forest, so no necromancy. As the leader of the Order of Mortem it is my duty to protect the forest, by making yearly sacrifices. If you had accepted my offer I could have sacrificed one of you. But I have realized that you won't give up one of your own that easily... so I'm left with no choice but to kill you all. Goodbye adventurers!"
Pythone raised his staff in the air and the ground started to shake under the adventurer's feet. Then, the earth broke open and an enormous skeleton rose from the depths.
"Beware the protector of the forest!" Caedes Pythone yelled at the group. Ike smiled as he fought with his fellow adventurers. Although he had already lost a lot of blood, he was not afraid of dying alongside these people whom he had managed to form a slight bond with in a matter of a few days.

Korbulence used stealth, making him untargetable for one round. However he couldn't attack this round. Caedes took some extra damage to make up for the fact that there are only 4 adventurers left now. Caedes attacked Ike Delaron for 15 damage (random.org really doesn't like you).

Yeah, mainly because you are only with 4 players now instead of 6. But you have to think about your strategy here in order to get everyone through this alive. Either way, for the next quest we could reform the combat system or something to make it go faster... |
