But wait wouldn't this be in like the same year as Rebels... 15 years after ROTS and 4 years before ANH is the same..

I'm pretty sure it takes place a few weeks or days before ANH.

One thing I didn't like about TFA was there was no familiar alien species. I hope Rogue One has some, because literally it was the first movie to not feature like a Twelik

I hope Rogue One has some, because literally it was the first movie to not feature like a Twelik I don't think this one will have many at all. The Rebellion started out as a coalition of former imperial systems. Alderaan, Chandrila, etc and being imperial these planets where dominated by humans. The Empire as mentioned hates non humans and likely kicked most of them out of the senate and replaced there representatives with Imperial puppets (Governors). So yeah anything with Rebellion vs the Empire non humans will likely be at a minimum.

They should bring back Cantina band though lol. Seeing the Stormtroopers and and Death Star just gives me a ANH vibe. I guess that's the point since it's right before ANH. I feel like I'll be expecting young Luke popping up or something while watching the movie... It's weird..

Seeing the Star Destroyers and Empire again in a movie is awesome. There's something about it that's just way better than the sequels or prequels, I guess the classic feel of it all I got chills at that part. This movie has great potential.

Unless they surprise us with Vader in an opening scene, he'll most certainly come in for the final half or more likely the final scene of the movie. As long as he gets one action sequence, I'll be content. I keep picturing the rebels about to leave an Imperial location, only to find Vader as the final obstacle between them and their ship. So then Vader and some stormtroopers take on a large group of rebels, killing nearly all of them before they somehow escape. Then Vader heads towards his Star Destroyer to pursue them, leading nicely into ANH.

A theory is that the scene with the Red Guards and the cloaked person is where Snoke is being held in a bacta tank...

A theory is that the scene with the Red Guards and the cloaked person is where Snoke is being held in a bacta tank... I heard about that too. The person kneeling for it would be Sidious then... and who would Sidious kneel for... I can only think of one answer...

I actually think it could be Vader in it (if it's a bacta tank). It would make sense that he might do that sometimes to keep his body maintained. Throughout the film we would just hear his voice from the tank, and then at the end he would reveal himself and crush the rebels in an awesome action scene. I still think the cloaked guy is Mads Mikkleson's character, so maybe he's reporting to Vader.

Well, as people online pointed out: The Imperial Guards only guard the emperor, they would not guard Darth Vader. Also, Vader is not known for using bacta tanks.

I think it's possible the guards could have been used for other things. Also, I'm sure Vader could have used a bacta tank, or something similar to it (he did use that chamber in Empire Strikes Back). I think it's too soon to make assumptions on things we thought we knew though, because this movie's going to have a lot of new things despite being a prequel (like all the new types of stormtroopers).

I will say this though... Snoke being in that tank is the first Snoke theory that I've found at least partially credible. I still don't think he's in there though. And even if it was him, I'd rather not see Palpatine kneel to anyone.

So... thoughts on the Rogue One character info that leaked a few days ago?
I love the names Bodhi Rook and Cassian Andor. They're probably some of my favorite Star Wars names. I'm also happy that there's actually going to be a couple aliens on the strike team (even if they'll end up being cannon fodder).

Kind of hoped for classic alien species to be used instead of what look like discount Chewbaccas Still, good names though. Particularly like Cassian Andor.

Vader is most likely inside the bacta tank. Makes me wonder if Rogue One will provide an explanation (besides the obvious reason of technology) of why Vader moves so much slower and appears to have lost some of his power between the Prequels and Originals. It's not a huge deal IMO, but it could be neat to see it included.

Disney thought the movie was too dark and they ordered a series of reshoots of the film, pointing to the director for its faults.

So, we all knew it already, but now it's been officially confirmed that Darth Vader's in the movie.
Also, Forest Whitaker's character is apparently someone who some Star Wars fans will recognize... any thoughts on who he could be? I saw a theory that he could be Captain Panaka and the age seems to line up.
