People have been talking about how the writers don't know how to pace things without the guidance of GGM I agree. I think part of the problem is that all storylines are connected now so when a lot of things happen in one location and not much happens in another things feel weird. But yeah, I don't like the pacing this season and the things that happened in last episode were the best example of how bad the sense of time has become in the series.

Apparently a hacker group, which is known to have hacked HBO files, threatened to leak the next episode soon...

I have a feeling that if the truce goes through then Cersei may demand Casterly Rock back, it isn't really important for Dany anyways

Really think the show could have used another season... or at least 10 episodes for season 7 and 8... I don't understand why they did not go for that, the story has not progressed a lot at all over the last 6 episodes...

{Spoiler}We are definitely getting a Night King taking down the wall cliffhanger...

You look at the promo for the next episode and see all the flaws of this season... how rushed it is with so little proper conclusions. Grey Worm and Euron just randomly appear but we didn't get any proper conclusion on Casterly Rock.
This season for all its great moments is also heavily flawed

I remember the soundtrack last year coming out and giving us the idea that it would end with Dany sailing to Westeros. You're right Pinda, this is probably going to be the Night King bringing down the wall.
Also, this track is amazing. It's probably going to be the Jon Snow reveal:

I don't want to wait a year+ again... It feels as if this season has only just begun.

Honestly though the music is this season is great. I can almost see the entire last scene just by listening to that "Army of the Dead" track.

Another rushed, poorly written episode... this season was one huge disappointment... I hope George gave them a clear plan for the endgame because these writers cannot get anything done on their own... This was all just aweful... no surprise deaths... the most boring and predictable things happened. The major surprise death this was Littlefinger? Complete bullshit... everyone saw that coming.
Also, LF's death was the spoiler I read... the fact that that was the most spoil-worthy thing this season had me worried... and for good reasons. We had no major twists this season. The NK getting a dragon wight? Predictable. The Wall coming down? Predictable, I think I even said that would be the final scene of the season a few months ago. Jaime leaving Cersei? So predictable.
Well time to go to bed... I will rant more tomorrow.

Well time to go to bed... I will rant more tomorrow. Yeah this season had an alright start, a pretty good middle and a meh ending.... it's defintley better then Season 5 and probably 6 as well but doesn't come close to season 2 or 4.... I fucking knew the Littlefinger storyline was going to be garbage despite all the buildup... and well it led to fucking nothing. Wasted screentime. And seriously we didn't get ANY follow up on Casterly Rock, NOTHING, not even a mention... like wtf. I really thought Jaime was going to kill Cersei at the end and perhaps the Mountain would have killed him and they would have died together, I actually thought Jaime would kill Cersei and then the Hound would come in and save Jaime, I'm not certain the Hound left with the rest of them, or at least I don't remember if he did. This episode was literally just setting up a season that may not release for 2 years... and when it does release I bet it will be in the Fall/ Winter of 2019, to keep is thematic with the winter is here stuff... so we will wait even longer

I agree with Pinda, especially about how hopefully GM gave them some guidance so they don't flounder on their own any more than they already have.

I'm going to post this here's but it's what I wrote up on the NR.
This episode is one of the worst finales yet… because all it fucking does is setup season 8 which by the way might not be until 2019 and when it gets here I’m willing to bet it will be Fall 2019 to keep it thematic with “Winter is Here” stuff…
What happened: – Truce with Dany and Cersei, lots of reunions, same stuff that’s been happening all season really – Littlefinger dies, this is predictable and disappointing because they been working his storyline since season 4 when he left Kings Landing and it has led to NOTHING. – Jon is revealed to be a Targaryen… we already know this, it wasn’t rocket science. – A dragon is converted to a wight and the wall comes down, predictable as hell – Jaime betrays Cersei, the writing has been on the wall since the last episode of season 6 when he sees Cersei on the throne. – Random and garbage Theon stuff that I’m willing to bet nobody cares about, No mention of Casterly Rock yet everybody that was there suddenly appears at the meeting. – Dany and Jon sex scene, which we knew was going to happen eventually.
In other words this episode had nothing surprising. 80 minutes of nothing of actual note.
What I wanted to happen? Jaime kill Cersei at the end and have either Jaime die by the Mountain OR have Jaime kill Cersei and have the Hound come in and save Jaime with some epic fight between the Clegane brothers. I don’t remember if the Hound left with the others or not, I can’t exactly remember.
This has been a flawed season and imo my rankings would be: Season 4 Season 2 Season 1 Season 7 Season 3 Season 6 Season 5
Granted I don’t remember too much of season 3 and 5 exactly but I don’t think there really is much of note to remember in those seasons. And season 6 really only had like 2 really good episodes.

Season 7 earns a high enough ranking because I feel they did ok with the 7 episode restraint, it cut out a lot of crappy filler we see in the previous two seasons but this season also became too rushed.

season 3 and 4 were a high point for me, kinda been downhill after that even though it hasn't been too bad since

Season 7 is definitely the worst season in my opinion... At least season 5 had major deaths or twists... and it did not feel extremely rushed. I honestly don't get why they refused to make 2 full seasons (HBO was fine with it). I thought they had good reasons to go for 13 episodes... but clearly I was wrong... They needed 20.

I'm afraid they are just going to ruin the series with writing like this. There is still a chance to redeem the series if season 8 is good... but if it is like season 7 the series is ruined, despite the first 6 seasons being good.

They asked for that time constraint because they did not think they would need full seasons to end the series... So their writing was shit because they did not even realize they needed 10 episodes...

Best thing about this episode by the way was Littlefinger's death in my opinion... Yes it made his storyline pointless... and yes it was predictable... But the actor did a great job. Littlefinger losing control and breaking down was pretty cool to see...

Idk what to think about this season. It's like so much happened yet somehow it feels like nothing happened at all.

Idk what to think about this season. It's like so much happened yet somehow it feels like nothing happened at all. Because almost nothing happened at all. Jon and Dany (and Jame?) joined forces against the NK, who has a dragon now. That's all basically the only relevant information this season... nothing else really mattered.

Sad to say Breaking Bad has officially reclaimed the "best tv show of all time" spot after the last few seasons of GoT. Good try GoT but things just didn't quite work out.
