Herro so I know we already have somewhat of a book type thread, but I am making my own. There are lots of books out there and I have read a lot of books, so I am going to tell you all about them. Like reviews, what type of reads, recommendations, etc.. I am going to make a list of the books and then later on tell you about them. Also don't look up some of these online because there is spoilers everywhere. To make things more easier and to keep you all up to date I have added some stuff. NOTE: Coming soon means that the review will come soon and means that I probably haven't started writing it yet . Writing In-depth review means that I am writing an in-depth review for it. Writing review means that I am writing the review for it. - Hatchet

Tangerine
Well today I am going to review the book entitled Tangerine. Well I would have to say I totally disliked this book. The book was a well written book, but it wasn't a my cup of tea or anyone's cup of tea for that matter. There are many problems in this book. I haven't read it in a couple of years so I don't remember all that much about it. The main character was a problem. Nobody liked him. I forget his name. Oh yeah his name is Paul. Well nothing about him interested me. There wasn't anything about him that made a click in my mind, he did want to just fit in which I think a lot of people can relate to. Also you can relate to him is that he didn't get put on the team for a BS reason. He made the school soccer team, but was considered ineligible to play by his coach. He has these big glasses he wears because of his vision, which is why his coach says no to him playing. I felt bad for the kid kind of. But luckily for him a giant sinkhole comes out of the planet random and totally screws his school up. Paul then transfers to some other school in orange county (I think it is called that) where he lies about his vision and gets to play. He looks really funny with his glasses on. It shows him with them on in the cover for the book. The kids on his soccer team are quite annoying actually. I forget all their names, but I remember them acting like they are in the Olympics are something. Paul has a brother named Erik, who is an asshole. I believe the reason why they moved down to orange county is because of how Erik is some big time football kicker. He is a real douche about it too, thinking that he can do anything he wants. The annoying thing is that he gets away with it. Spoilers: Erik sprayed paint in his eyes which made him go somewhat blind and ends up having to wear the glasses. I don't remember what exactly he did to piss Erik off, but I remember it was something really small and stupid. I think Paul told on Erik's friend or something like that. Erik didn't even get into trouble. Erik is a punk. He stole stuff from the neighborhood with his other punk friend. Oh yeah he also is racist. He called one of Pauls' soccer pals something racist I think. Then he even punched him I think. Later on the brother of the kid that got punched by Erik went to go confront Erik, but the wussy like Erik is had his friend use a sock with a bar of soap in it I think (Forgot what the name of that specifically called is) hit the brother with it. He appeared fine but Spoilers died later in the book because of the hit. I could go on to tell about how it ended but I don't want to. Another thing that you can relate to Paul is that he is overshadowed by his brother, Erik. Paul does have a talent as a goalie in soccer but is not gotten much recognition for it because his brother is making records kicking footballs. Lets just say that Paul and his soccer team don't get along with Erik. It all ends up badly. This book does have a surprising amount of death. A kid gets zapped by lightning and another guy dies. I think Erik had something bad to do with the kid getting zapped by lightning. The characters are vivid in this book. Like I said I thought this book was well written I just didn't like it. Well in the other reviews I will go more in depth.
Recommended: To kids in middle school through high school. 8.4/10 on the well written scale 5.7/10 on how much I enjoyed it scale

Flowers For Algernon
Description: With more than five million copies sold, Flowers for Algernon is the beloved, classic story of a mentally disabled man whose experimental quest for intelligence mirrors that of Algernon, an extraordinary lab mouse. In poignant diary entries, Charlie tells how a brain operation increases his IQ and changes his life. As the experimental procedure takes effect, Charlie's intelligence expands until it surpasses that of the doctors who engineered his metamorphosis. The experiment seems to be a scientific breakthrough of paramount importance--until Algernon begins his sudden, unexpected deterioration. Will the same happen to Charlie?
Flowers for Algernon is a great book. The story starts out with a handicapped man named Charlie Gordon, who gets bullied and he doesn't even know it. The author really made me feel sympathetic for Charlie. I felt so bad for him, especially because he thinks the bullies are his friends. The bullies are his co workers. Charlie gets chosen from some scientist to make him smarter with an operation, but Charlie must make a journal about his thoughts and feelings before and after the operation. The book format is the journals he writes. So you get to see what his thoughts are and what he feels. Soon he does get slowly smarter after the operation. At first in his journals he has a bad vocabulary and misspells many things. But after the operation it soon gets better, which is apparent when reading the journals. Charlie gets really smart. But he soon realizes that his so called friends were not laughing with him, but rather laughing at him. He gets to see the cruelty in the world. Charlie becomes friends with the mouse that they are also using the same operation on named Algernon. As Charlie gets smarter he ends up beating the mouse in a maize type simulation. But Algernon ends up dying, which Charlie has to grabble the pain he may get if he ends up losing his intelligence. I highly recommend this to everyone here.

Morning Girl
This book it total Potato Rules in a bag. I read this book in like second grade...I don't remember much about it but I remember that I hated it. The two main characters in it were a girl named morning girl and a boy named star boy...yeah very stupid. Morning girl liked to wake up really early, because she was a morning girl. Star boy liked to stay up late, because he was a star boy. Yeah that's the book right there. That's all its about pretty much. I didn't like anything in this book. It bored the hell out of me, I only finished it because I had to for school.
Recommended: To dead people... 1/10 Enjoyment I gave it a one because the name of the characters amused me...
