Oh, and socialism. If you work hard, and succeed in life, I think you should be allowed to keep most of your money. If you depend on the government and receive unemployment checks just because you do not want to get a job, I don't think you should anywhere near as much money. But then ethics get involved, like who is actually "lazy" and who really can't work...and in this economy, its extremely hard to find a job. My dad has been looking for a job for a LONG time. Same for a lot of my friends. my own family relied on government aid for awhile. But we actually did need it. But many do not. And brings us all down through Obama's socialist policies.

I also want to know how a republican would classify the characteristics of a republican. I have grown up in a democrat household, (aside from my dad) and I do get a lot of things from my mom, but I like to research them and form my own conclusion on all subjects. Here you go: -Believe in free-market capitalism -Does not believe in giving money to the lazy; does think you should have to work hard for your money, and then keep a fair amount -Wants small, transparent government -Defends the constitution, and follows it -No abortion or gay marriage -No unfair taxes -Help small businesses -Allow immigrants only through legal processes -NO SOCIALISM Hmm, those are very interesting. I find that giving money to the "lazy" is not always the case, I've seen many people who have worked hard in life and have had things happen to them, and shouldn't they get a second chance? If they decide to use the money and be lazy that is one thing, but I feel as if republicans only want money to benefit them. Defending the constitution is a good thing, but at the same time do republicans think that it could be "outdated"? I mean, it is pretty old, back when it was somewhat more peaceful. I find abortion and gay marriage shouldn't go into politics, ESPECIALLY since they root from the bible, (I am a Christian) because that is unfair to other religions if your country uses that as the reason they practice it. I mean it is a democracy right? It seems to limit freedom of those who practice it. I mean if republicans go on that field they might as well lock everyone up who is atheist. I do somewhat agree with the unfair taxes, if I am correct, democrats want to tax hard working republicans more money than anyone else. At that standpoint, republicans find it unfair that they get taxed more, yet they try to make gay marriage equality unfair for the partakers. Maybe unrelated but just wanted to bring that unfairness up. I find it strange, you say republicans help small business's, but aren't most of them the ones with big corporations or at least fueling them? Spider, I'd like to ask your argument against this post I made. I am interested in what you would think.

Helps small businesses? Republicans seem to like corporations a whole awful lot. Also, no abortion or gay marriage? I can't seem to understand how either of those would affect anyone other than those going through them. Being homophobic is like being angry that a guy is ordering lettuce on his sandwich at Subway - it doesn't affect you. And abortion should totally be up to women. And what's wrong with socialism? Just curious. Republicans like businesses. We like the economy going. And lettuce isn't shoved in our face everywhere as to where we're forced to like it or we're evil. The child's soul doesn't belong to the woman. It goes against god-given and constitutional rights to let them kill it. Oh, religious beliefs. I understand. But IMO, in order to have a good government that benefits all, Church should be separated from State.

Please explain to me how such a racist nation is a "good" thing. Right now they're persecuting African migrants. Saying Israel is a good thing is saying racism and apartheid are good things too. Not to mention that at one point they wanted to introduce racially-segregated schools. Very good, yes.
My religious beliefs.... I don't agree with the things they do, but in the end....
I understand. But religion shouldn't always be mindlessly followed.

What I meant is if republicans were to go by the Bible in politics then any other religion would be discarded, if republicans used the influence of the Bible, then even more rules of God would be implemented. Also, I have seen a lot of atheists, and they do not hate Christians. A lot just don't agree with the presence of a God.

And even the lazy deserve basic needs. 3- Then why do you think the government should care about gay marriage and abortion? 4- I think both should be allowed and while I could see your point against abortion... I never understood why people were against gay marriage other than just because isn't in the bible. It's not like you'd actually be disadvantaged or hurt if two men/women married. 5- Well there should never be unfair taxes... but what is unfair? 6- Without Socialism you'd be living under terrible conditions, unless you were one of the upper classes of course.

I don't know what Obama is doing to companies so I'll not reply to this. 2. Yes, because the majority of unemployed are eating chips all day... 3. But then they'd be interfering with people's personal lives. So the government is still playing a large role in society. 4. Lots countries don't recognize a relationship between two unmarried people, I think this includes the US. They'd have all kind of disadvantages, for example if one of them died passing on belongings to the other would be much harder. And why would children need a mother and a father? There are plenty of divorced parents that raise their children alone. Why couldn't two people of the same gender do it? 5. I don't get why people always complain about taxes. Yes, the government takes up to 52% (at least here) of your income, but all prices are adapted to that. If, for instance the government would decrease all taxes by 10% companies, knowing people have more money to spend now, would just raise the prices and eventually you'd be in the same situation. You have more money, but it's worth about the same. And even if that wasn't the case, I'd gladly sacrifice half my income if that would mean other people can have better lives, and I can use all kind of public products and services. 6. I don't see how that is a reply to my original point... But unions, minimum wage and free education were all socialist ideas at the time. Without those things most of us would have far less pleasant lives.

Obama isn't socialist. In the Netherlands he would be on the far right wing... He just doesn't like to say he his. He's driving the whole nation toward socialism. 1. Obama is NOT a socialist. He may be a bit less capitalist than other American politicians, but that doesn't make him socialist. 2. Why would socialism necessarily be a bad thing?

Well I wouldn't know about that. But I heard they're a hated minority in the US and that Christians also slam them. Maybe they feel afraid? If that's not the case they're anti-theists, not atheists.

No, actually its the other way around. Most don't want to work. Fake Disabilities is another thing. Really, the people with lots of money didn't work hard to make that money? Where'd it come from then, the sky? Most of the rich people are either greedy, egoistic, lucky or just happened to be a talented at something like singing or sporting. Of course some of the worked hard, but they don't work anything harder than lower-class people, actually lower-class people probably work harder and longer. If you happen to be a talented singer you can makes enough money to retire before reaching your thirties, without any large effort. While the simple workers have to go on until they're 67 (or whatever the retirement age in the US is) and they'll still have little money. The view that you, and many others, have of unemployed people receiving money from the government is just a view formed by communist and socialist hate during the Cold War, there are no facts to proof that the majority of those people is just lazy. Actually it's quite the opposite. During the economical crisis many more people have become unemployed, while the unemployment agreements have gotten worse (here at least).

I understand. But religion shouldn't always be mindlessly followed. But it's not mindless. It's making a personal decision based on experiences and and the bible. (Well, at least Christianity) Its the vulnerability that comes from reaching out in love to something you don't understand.
