Watched Mission Impossible: Fallout with my dad, I enjoy the series tbh. It’s like over the top action and every scene should probably kill Tom Cruise but still it’s fun and cool he does his own stunts I've been meaning to watch that. I like the idea of the series but don't really like the older ones tbh... Ghost Protocol is my favorite and the only one I've seen multiple times. Tom Cruise is also probably one of my favorite actors

Anyone else watch Bird Box? Yeah. It was kinda dumb... I hate in these types of movies when they keep the monster vague and never really explain its origins. Also there wasn't really any plot and instead there were many plot holes. Shouldn't have been a 2 hour movie. The hype around it is likely only because the mass suicide thing is kind of a shocking concept

Also did Bandersnatch. I need to go back and try some other options but it was very trippy... Didn't feel quite satisfying though

Ok IMO Aquaman was excellent.... Jason Mamoa is such a likeable actor, the guy is really rising in fame. But everything about it was pretty great, setting, characters, etc were all fairly unique from what you expect a superhero movie to entail. There’s really no Marvel comparison quite like this, closest I guess is Black Panther due to a similar story but still Atlantis is A LOT different from Wakanda.
Even thoguh Wonder Woman is probably the greatest DC movie (post Dark Knight trilogy), even that movie is pretty comparable to Captain America just different wars.
If I were to rank the newer DC movies I’d probably say
Wonder Woman Aquaman Justice League Man of Steel Suicide Squad Batman vs Superman
Yes I do in fact think Suicide Squad is better simply because it’s not meant to be taken as seriously similar to Guardians of the Galaxy although they tried to make suicide squad a bit too serious. Hopefully Gunn does better in the sequel (which I’m confident he will given his experience on Guardians). Plus Harley and Deadshot were cool.

Cars will always be better than Toy Story . Yes I’m 21 but even still, childhood favorites stick with you.

Plus Black Panther is overrated.... Yeah I agree, still good but a lot of the hype was because it amplified black diversity. Kind of like a proud/pride factor involved to it but it wasn’t bad though but not like it was hyped as anyway.

I haven't seen Justice League, but I heard it was really bad.

It's looking like a showdown between Star Wars IX and Avengers: Endgame to win the box office this year. Before TLJ and Solo, I would've expected Star Wars to win handily, but given how those fared and the numbers Infinity War produced, it's tough to bet against Endgame.
Other films that will likely do well (but not be the best) are Captain Marvel, Toy Story 4, Frozen 2, The Lion King, and the Jumanji sequel.

Infinity War did 2 billion, and I don't think Endgame's going to do too much less. I'm expecting IX to make somewhere in between what Force Awakens and Last Jedi did. Lion King and Frozen 2 will do a ton as well, possibly more than IX.

Which sort of speaks volumes of how much Disney mucked up with Star Wars, the name that was once thought as the mother of all money makers. I get how Marvel's sort of embedded itself into the decade as one of the most fashionable movie series to watch, but still it's pretty damning

I think a lot of IX's success will hinge on word of mouth and the strength of other films releasing around it.

Yeah, agreed on Toy Story 4. I'm still kind of iffy on it since Toy Story 3 had the perfect ending... but this new one is looking pretty good so far, and it seems like a lot of people are still excited about it. I think Toy Story 3 made over a billion dollars and that was back in like 2010.

Assuming it sticks the landing well enough, it'll be piling on the De Niro till the cows come home

I thought Toy Story 3 ended the movies on a good note as well, but I don't have any reason to suspect the 4th one won't be of the same high caliber. A billion worldwide is almost certain for Toy Story 4, but it's release date is close to some other big names that could take away younger and older audiences (Dark Phoenix, Secret Life of Pets 2, Men in Black, Spider-Man). Individually, those films may not be a threat, but combined, they could reduce Toy Story's intake. Plus The Lion King will hamper any chance of an extended box office run. Also, interest for Star Wars isn't too strong outside the US. So even if IX performs well domestically, I expect it to be vulnerable to several other films in the worldwide tallies.

I wouldn't be surprised if we got 3-5 movies this year that grossed over 1.5 billion. It's looking like Endgame, Toy Story 4, The Lion King, Frozen 2, and Episode IX are all capable of exceeding that.
2015 currently has the most (unadjusted for inflation) with 3 films: Episode VII, Jurassic World, and Furious 7.

Anyone planning to see Captain Marvel? For some reason I don't have a strong interest to compared to some past MCU films, but I feel like I should before watching Endgame.
