I’ve seen speculation as well that the Hand Tattoo relates to Thrawn. In the old EU a symbol of a Hand was very prominent with his character.

Also is season 2 actually going to be next year? I know there’s only 2 seasons, I thought I heard somewhere they filmed it all at once…. The show was originally announced back in like 2018 I think.
The problem with the show imo is the release format. The one episode a week is too slow for this show, but the content is interesting still. It should have been released in 3 episode batches imo. Even if it was Bi-weekly would still be fine. This is honestly a better show to binge at once similar to Witcher on Netflix.

Lot to praise in this episode. The Eye was beautiful, a lot better than expected. The heist was fantastic. I thought the blocking during all those scenes was really good and the actors did a great job. All the troop movements and whatnot were really believable.
Actually really curious about the characters that were left behind and if we'll see them again. Cinta, Jayhold, even the comms officer, Kimzi or whatever, he was cool. Also kinda feel like some of the characters that died may not be actually be dead. But tbh this doesn't seem like the kind of show to do fakeout deaths.
One thing I'll say is I think it was a missed opportunity making the Dhanis human. Seriously there are no aliens in this show. Maybe extensive prosthetics for such a large group would've been difficult but at least some kind of simple makeup to differentiate them from humans surely could've been doable.
Guess I'm actually a little curious about what happens next because up until now the plot direction was pretty easy to predict. But Cassian ditching them was a bit of a twist. He'll probably resume the search for his sister and maybe that'll somehow loop him back in with the rebellion. Also didn't get why he killed the guy, he didn't seem like a threat.

I'm actually worried this is the only time we will see the senate. That'd be so disappointing if this throwaway scene is all we get. I want to see a full session with the Emperor present.
Still don't find any characters to be very likeable or interesting tbh. Everyone is raving about the slow burn being worth it for the character development but where exactly is the character development? There's been no good character moments so far. It's just backstory info dumps.
This show hasn't had a single moment that will become memorable. I don't think it will have more than one or two by the time the season ends. It's just not a fun show. Star Wars is all about elaborate set pieces and action sequences which are missing here. This might be really nitpicky but even the credits are lame. It's just white text on black background. Not even blue text like the rest of Star Wars. Mando has awesome credits with the concept art and music like I actually watch those every time

I think this season is a lot of setup, I think next season will honestly have Krennic and some of the heavy hitter imperials doing their own thing.
Honestly there’s not gonna be any fake deaths, the inspiration and writing is from Rogue One and everybody dies in that movie. I think this is the one Star Wars content that when somebody looks dead, they gonna be dead.
I liked the episode, I kind of figured the heist would be coordinated for stealth rather then blasting their way in. I’m a little surprised everyone died but again I guess thst hones back to Rogue One. Cinta i feel like we won’t see again, maybe not even Vel much for thst matter. Isn’t Cinta a native of that planet though? Maybe she has no reason to leave and I think Vel is going back to be with her anyway.
Hoping the stuff on Coruscant and the ISB gets a bigger focus in the next arc while Andor is off soul searching or whatever.

My dad and I were both wondering why we haven’t seen a real Stormtrooper yet. We figured cause it’s not an active warzone is why everyone is in more casual outfits, but still kind of weird. But then again Han kind of looked like that in Solo on the Mimban battlefield as well.
Also I’m pretty sure I remember there being clones in one of the trailers, guessing there will be more flashbacks at some point

The Eye was a pretty satisfying conclusion to that story. Wasn't sure what to expect with the light show, but it was a cool backdrop to a really well-done heist. I actually like the quick cuts to other characters a lot. It helps add to the story's scope and complexity, something we didn't really get in any previous Star Wars shows.
Also I think Andor has done a good job developing its characters. There were lots of small moments with the heist crew to give them a little more substance, like the book for that one guy and another one being a former stormtrooper. We even saw the Commandant share some moments with his family to help humanize him versus being a stereotypical evil officer. I appreciate how they're fleshing them out to feel real and part of a bigger universe.
In a lot of ways it continues to remind me of the OT. We're teased of character backgrounds and name drops without full explanations given. It adds to the mystery and drama for me, and future Star Wars projects should emulate this.
Not too sure where the story goes from here either. I was surprised Andor killed that dude, but I guess it makes sense for him to want to be on his own again. The ISB story should become more prominent as well, and I'm sure some of those characters may even stick around for season 2. Definitely excited to see where it goes. Like Newan said, I just wish it dropped 3 episodes at a time since it flows much better that way.

Also I’m pretty sure I remember there being clones in one of the trailers, guessing there will be more flashbacks at some point I think at some point it was retconned that Stormtroopers are the Empire's elite force rather than their regular infantry. So what we see in Andor and on Mimban are the basic army grunts. And Stormtroopers are saved for more vital operations like the ones that related to the Death Star and whatnot. Kinda don't buy that because of how large the stormtrooper corp is and it's clear they are supposed to be the basic infantry unit but whatever. I imagine we'll see stormtroopers towards the end if something major goes down. As for the clones I'm actually starting to think they will appear in the present day and not a flashback. We haven't gotten a continuation of the flashback storyline since young Cassian left his home planet. Though it's possible they will return to that stuff. I feel like we will be seeing that construction planet playing a big role later along with all the characters there like the droid, Cassian's adoptive mom, Bix, etc. Maybe they try to liberate that planet and that's the endgame.

So apparently the next episode is more of a standalone. Then we return to the arc format with 8-10 being a 3-parter and 11-12 serving as a 2-parter.
Interested to see what makes this next episode stand more so on its own. Lots of speculation that it involves the clone troopers we briefly saw from the trailer. Seems likely to me that we'll only see Andor this week and how he's feeling following the heist. Maybe some more flashbacks too. Then I'd assume 8-10 brings the ISB/political plots to center stage.

As much as I like seeing Disney taking L's, unfortunately I think this will be bad long term because Lucasfilm is probably going to take away the wrong lessons again like they did with Solo. They will probably come to the conclusion that new characters are not popular and will go back to milking old stuff.
Kinda sad because Andor does a lot of things right. It is one of the most polished Disney Star Wars content in terms of direction and other production values. The lack of nostalgia milking and fan service is generally a good thing even if I think they went a bit too far with avoiding that stuff. The difference made by hiring actually talented and competent writers is noticeable. Sadly I think going forward projects will see lower budgets. BOBF/OWK will probably be the baseline for future content.

Episode 7 was decent. Good references and worldbuilding like the Palpatine/Grand Vizier name drops. Seeing Yularen was nice but he seemed a little abrasive. I guess I got used to TCW Yularen coming across as a nicer guy but gotta remember he was a Palpatine loyalist and shared their Imperial values.
The Mon Mothma and the ISB stuff is my favorite part of the show, really the only thing I'm watching for lol. Cassian is still not doing anything for me as a character so my interest in his storyline fluctuates. I guess space Miami was kinda cool though.
I liked that other senator as well, Mothma's friend. I was really hoping that would be Bel Iblis from the Thrawn trilogy, that would've been crazy but oh well. The clone flashback was shorter than I expected, it was pretty much just the shots from the trailer.

I wonder if there will be more to show on Aldhani. If they dispatched an ISD I feel like something is going down there. And Cinta will probably stay to feed Luthen information
Cereal guy's storyline is probably weakest and the one that feels least like Star Wars. I just want Saw to show up honestly. Idk if I misinterpreted it but I think the investigation stuff with the ISB lady and theft of military components is not related to Aldhani but rather something Saw's Partisans have been doing off screen.
I gotta say really feels like something is missing from the show. I'm just not excited to tune in every week. I think the new characters that are not familiar or not connected to the Empire are lacking a cool factor to them. I also think they might've benefited from incorporating a character with ties to the Jedi/the Force. Not like another Jedi survivor because that very cliche at this point but something different. I get a lot of people don't want to see Jedi in everything but like it is a core part of the franchise.
That and we definitely need a little more action. Hopefully there will be another rebel operation soon or perhaps Saw's introduction will weave one in

I liked the episode, the ISB stuff is definitely the best part. I’d be interested in a show purely centred around the Empire tbh. Colonel Yularen was a good addition, I think Rebels established he’s the head of the ISB if I’m not mistaken? You’d think he’d be a higher rank though like a Moff or even General since it seems like the ISB is using ground infantry rankings. Idk his rank just seems low for someone who communicates directly with the Emperor. Usually the lore had that reserved for Vader, Tarkin, Thrawn, etc.
I still think we will see higher ranking imperials if not this season then definitely next season. Krennic for sure, but hoping for Tarkin or Thrawn. I know Tarkin would be brief though if they use CGI.
Glad we finally saw some Stormtroopers and I really like Shoretroopers so also cool they added those in. This show does a good job respecting the established lore while doing its own thing.
A few things, I do agree maybe we should see some more aliens. At least established aliens. We saw some on the resort, I guess you can make the argument that the Empire forced most of them to the lower levels of Coruscant and only ones with relevance to the empire would still be allowed up top. I believe there was an Ithorian at Mon Mothma’s party. Also I’d like some more sky shots of Coruscant, maybe even show the Jedi Temple as well.

I don’t really remember the names of episodes but so far I’d probably rank them like:
Episode 1: 7/10 Episode 2: 5/10 Episode 3: 8/10 Episode 4: 7/10 Episode 5: 6/10 Episode 6: 9/10 Episode 7: 7/10
Overall: 7.5/10
There’s little parts in each episode that raise the score, like Episode 4 for example is when we first see the ISB and Coruscant but the stuff with Cassian was pretty boring. And you can tell with my scores how the 3 part arcs are going… I think this show needed to be released in 3 episode batches or the entire season at once.
The acting, writing, cinematography is all excellent. Just a little slow for what it is.

I think word will get out and this show will become more popular post release tbh… it’s only 2 seasons and it already got renewed for season 2 so at least we will see the story to fruition. I think it is somewhat comparable to HBO dramas the way it's structured and written with the multiple plotlines around different characters. But idk Andor still lacks something. I remember with like GOT, you were hooked instantly. Even episodes that didn't have much action were engaging because of character or world developments. Even if there were few morally good characters to root for, we found all of them interesting to watch. There was a lot more suspense and cliffhangers were utilized better. Andor's characters don't really click for some reason. I don't need action like lots of dramas are great without using action. But since so much of Andor is so bland, I'd prefer at least having some flashy action sequences. Plus it's Star Wars so action is usually a part of it. I don’t really remember the names of episodes but so far I’d probably rank them like: Episode 1: 7/10 Episode 2: 5/10 Episode 3: 8/10 Episode 4: 7/10 Episode 5: 6/10 Episode 6: 9/10 Episode 7: 7/10 Overall: 7.5/10 There’s little parts in each episode that raise the score, like Episode 4 for example is when we first see the ISB and Coruscant but the stuff with Cassian was pretty boring. But this kind of show is harder to rate. Other Star Wars shows, even if their not really episodic series, kinda have like one main thing going on in every episode and it can be good or bad or cooler/lamer than another episode if that makes sense. It's like how rating every episode of Breaking Bad would be kinda hard

You can obviously tell this is a show with adult writing, but the content has to stay PG13. No nudity, sexual content really or any graphic violence. Looking through the episodes you can tell where they would have wanted to place those kinds of things if it was a HBO show. The show at least took a chance, I think BoBF and Kenobi tried to emulate Mando a lot and just doesn’t work. Mandos character kinda works perfectly for that show as well him not saying anything or not having much character doesn’t really matter. But I do agree compared to Mando the side characters here don’t seem as interesting. Mayfield, Cara, Karga, etc are all better.

I was surprised we saw all the plot lines this episode, but it was refreshing that this one felt like a direct continuation of last week versus a soft reset for a new arc. I agree that the ISB/Mothma stories are best. Two of my favorite moments this episode were Partagaz's discussion at the ISB table and Mothma's conversation with Tay during the dinner. It's so nice how much stronger the writing is for Andor versus the previous series.
It was a nice touch to have Yularen appear and show how they are tightening their grip even more. I also liked Luthen's line about how the Empire's been strangling the public so slowly people have forgotten. With all the Palpatine references, I hope we get a glimpse of him before the end of the season.
Also I appreciated the various shots of Coruscant as Luthen's assistant met with Vel. Even little world building like that shows the kind of detail this show strives to reach.

So at this point, the most organized rebel activity seems to be Saw's extremists and whatever Mothma/Organa/Luthen are doing? I guess they're somewhat linked, but obviously the closer we get to ANH, the more Saw is looked down upon by the majority of the Alliance.
Oh, and the Ghost crew is also starting up around this time. It would be a nice touch if the ISB name dropped Lothal or something. Maybe even opens the door for Thrawn, Pryce, or Kallus to cameo. Just hope they don't shoehorn stuff like that in, but so far the creators seem intent on avoiding fan service like that which is good.
Thrawn is the most exciting possibility obviously. Since he seems to be the main villain in the post-ROTJ shows era, it would be a nice connection to introduction him here, especially to audiences that didn't watch Rebels.

I still maintain my belief they should go broader and escape the Saga time period all together and explore the old eras. Great Hyperspace War, Great Sith War, the Mandalorian Wars, the discovery of the Force on Typhon, there are tons to choose from and develop unique and visually distinct points in the timeline.

Somehow I like Rogue One Cassian more than Andor's Cassian. Which is funny because you'd think a show would provide more opportunity to flesh out the character. One of the silliest things about Andor which I don't see anyone talking about is how they are trying to show Cassian as a womanizer for literally no reason. I just can't buy him as that guy lol and even if I could like there is really no relevance for this little character trait Other eras would be cool but they're clearly afraid of that and/or don't have the creativity for it. I would like to see them going back to the roots with a group of friends going on adventures. I really think Star Wars has been lacking that sense of adventure lately. Even TROS had more of that stuff lol

There’s actually reports now that Andor is doing a lot better then what was initially reported a few days ago and the demand at times has been exceptional. Apparently everyone jumped on a not very accurate source earlier this week.
Rings of Power just ended, She Hulk ended (trash anyway) and House of the Dragon ends on Sunday while Andor still has 5 episodes left. Might start gaining a lot of traction with some of the bigger shows around it no longer bringing out new episodes. Despite how awful it’s been this year for Video Games and Movies it seems TV shows have been going pretty strong.

I really want to hear Thrawn at least mentioned. Saw has been active since well Bad Batch, actually his splinter group should be really active as in Fallen Order he was trying to liberate the Wookiee on Kashyyyk.

Luthen is 100% a Saw supporter imo and Mon Mothma doesn’t know that. It’s probably why Saw gets ostracized from the Rebellion because she’s a lot softer and wants to rebuild the republic.

Just realized something interesting. When Mon Mothma is in the Senate chamber talking about the thing with the Ghormans, it's referencing this scene from rebels from that episode where they escort her. It's either part of the same speech from Andor that we didn't get to see or another speech about the same topic she would've delivered around the same time.
There will probably be more Rebels stuff in the show, could see a Lothal name drop

Found this to be the most interesting/least slow episode so far. I think George Lucas would've liked this episode, all the prison stuff felt very THX-1138.
I guess the show is getting better as it goes on. It was good seeing Saw and I hope he has a larger role and wasn't just there for this cameo. I'm still mildly annoyed that there are almost never any aliens and when there are, they're from the sequels... Like how was there not a single alien in the prison? I saw some argument saying The lack of aliens is because the Empire has genocided a bunch of species but that is dumb as hell because the OT is full of aliens. And if the Empire is so discriminatory against them, you'd expect to see a bunch in their prisons.
