Also the Tusken Child is really cool imo… like obviously no Baby Yoda but hes pretty wholesome in his own way.

What a mess. I find myself questioning so many of their decisions. Half the scenes/dialogue feel like they're out of a comedy, the cyberpunk kids were out of place, the speeder chase was so slow and bad. The Krrsantan fight was really lame he just stood around the entire time. Why the hell didn't he bring his gun lmao. And all the Tuskens just suddenly drop dead. Really don't know what they're doing
People are calling out Rodriguez's directing. I thought the action in his Mando episode was pretty cool. I wanted to like the guy because of his work on westerns and how he's friends with Tarantino but comparing the direction between this episode and the last one, it's night and day. Funnily I think Steph Green is a relatively no name compared to Rodriguez too
Also honestly Boba just does not feel like Boba at all. He's so lame. I think they're just wasting Tem. Like his acting is quite good but they're not giving him good stuff to work with. Idk maybe he's not able to do a lot of action stuff now but he really doesn't have to. How many stunts did Clint Eastwood do? Just standing and shooting shit can be intimidating enough especially with the helmet on. Why does he never have the helmet on smh I think they lost me here

That chase would've at least been tolerable if it was Boba chasing on his jetpack and coldly killing that idiot after getting the info lol I knew the tribe would die, but jeez that was rushed. Also, those kids just have no visual place here and boy the acting the poor. The Hutts problem just disappeared bizarrely and I don't know, I get Boba's a changed man, but with this episode it feels a bit too defanged. I mean, where's the action he should be getting stuck into? The Krrsantan fight was a bit wasted. Would've been cooler if Boba had his armour.
Really hope this is just a bad egg in a good batch here, because this was a bit of a dive downwards.

And the Krrsantan fight was so highly anticipated but so lame. Boba didn't even suit up. Thinking about it I don't think Boba's fired a blaster even once up to this point... Boba asking those loser kids for help was so cringe lol. Better off just hiring Krrsantan. And yeah the Tusken deaths was so rushed and so badly done. No further development between them, no goodbye. Very unsatisfying

Yeah I think I got to call it. They've officially butchered Boba the same way they did Luke. It's crazy to say that a character which was essentially a blank slate could be ruined but that's how I feel. The success of the character in the OT is very simple. Not seeing his face makes him mysterious, his design is cool and iconic, and he's a western inspired bounty hunter which makes him badass. All you have to do to write Boba is keep these traits that give him his cool factor and it's likely to be a home run.
Instead they ended up taking all those traits away. He never wears his iconic helmet which reduces his mystery and intimidation factor and being in a crime boss role has basically taken him out of the action. And like I said I really don't think it's Tem. He could've pulled off a proper Boba, they just wrote him wrong. I think they had interesting ideas but the execution is bad. If Boba is comfortable working with the Empire and Hutts, you get the impression he isn't supposed to be a good guy. So why's he so nice here? Maybe the sarlacc fall changed him. But they never really showed that. They didn't tell either. There's nothing with him regretting his past actions and wanting to be better or really any general explanation for his overall motivation.
Also what is up with the "humor"? It's on par with TLJ's your mom joke. Why is Boba joking about the guy's one eye? It's so bad I can't imagine OT Boba talking like that. It's hard to believe Favreau wrote this after seeing Mando. I think he put a lot more thought and effort into Mando while he's not taking this seriously at all. Idk I hope they can redeem themselves in some way. Some opportunities are already lost though. Apparently 5, 6, and 7 are supposed to be the heavy hitters with 6 being written by Filoni so I guess we'll see what happens...

Honestly it’s just too slow atm, I think it will pick up though. But Boba has not killed or shot anyone in the present day yet… I still don’t mind the show that much as a side story. I’m sure what’s likely to happen is he rallies the tuskens in the present to fight the Pykes.
I really don’t know why Fennec is so loyal to him though, not really sure what she’s getting out of all this.

Only 7 episodes so hoping it picks up soon… I’m thinking one more weird one before a good final 3.
On the bright side it’s all one continuous story, or two I guess, there’s no blatant filler episodes like Mando had sometimes even though even those I enjoy for world building

Very unsatisfying I'd be so surprised if that's all of the Hutts. Surely, they have more of a part to play. Also, the lack of Rotta opens up a lot of questions. I will say I get how they're setting up Krrsantan to help as a favour in the future, but why not just have him around as Fett's new muscle? Sounds like a cool idea to me. Also, they coudl've saved themselves so much if they changed it in the script from lame acting cyberpunk biker kids to something like outcast Mandalorians or something lol

Apparently it's confirmed in an interview with Tem, the Slave 1 is now renamed Firespray. Now, while you can say they never called it that in any of the films, it's more to do with how this is just some blatant attempt from Disney in sterilising Star Wars of everything and anything that has a whiff of political incorrectness (despite the fact this really isn't). Their attempt of having a squeaky clean image just doesn't mesh with Star Wars and details like this really show it.

I think they've done a good job with this series so far. It's not too grand in scale or moving along quickly yet, but I'm hopeful this is their way of establishing groundwork for the final episodes and future projects.
Temura is fantastic as Boba. It's a little jarring to see him play more of the crime boss than bounty hunter, but it's not that out of character for him to develop this way. He's older now and been through a lot so he's "qualified" for a position like this. If Boba were to stay as the same exact figure we saw from the OT, I think it would come across kind of unrealistic and arguably boring. If they wanted to have a show with Boba being OT Boba during his bounty hunting prime, they could've set a show around ANH to cover that, so clearly Filoni/Favreau have a different direction in mind for Boba and his progression as a character.
Don't really know much about Krrsantan from the comics, but it's cool they're including him here even if he doesn't appear again in this series. I've heard that Dr. Aphra and him are interesting in the comics, so maybe there's good content to draw from there for future stories.
With the Pykes appearing to be the main villain, it makes me wonder if we'll see more elements from Solo come into play. Perhaps the Mayor has ties to Crimson Dawn/Q'ira or there's been conflict between these parties. Since we don't have Maul anymore, Boba could be a means to continue some of those plot threads. I also hope the Hutts have more to contribute because the Twins were underwhelming if that's all we get.

Okay, a return to better form, though I do have issues. Why do they keep pushing this stupid hipster cyberpunk idea? It doesn't fit and it's really lame. Also, I think they need to give Boba more of his fangs back. I'm all for a stone cold bounty hunter trying to turn a new leaf and all, but he needs more of his killer, ruthless instinct. Feels like Disney has no balls in giving Star Wars even a tinge of edginess, which is just stifling. The renaming of Slave 1 says it all.
That being said, I did love how Slave 1 was used here. Seeing Boba just mow down those bikers was satisfying in how we finally saw him being the badass killer he's supposed to be. And while I know the whole sarlacc scene was just a contrived way to put a seismic charge down its throat, I can't lie, it was worth it lol
Nice to see Krrsantan getting hired too. I know the Mando music means Din's coming, but I hope we get more hunters like Bossk and Dengar. Feels like Crimson Dawn's getting in on the action too at some point.

Still meh for me. Boba is still so incompetent and sloppy like look at how he trashed the kitchen. This man has not fired a blaster once in four episodes.
Why did Fennec get the kill on the sarlacc? And why should we find the Pykes to be a compelling antagonist? They were not set up well at all. And Firespray gunship lol.
I think all I liked in this episode was seeing more of the palace and the LEP droid. I actually liked the mod shop and the music during that scene as well because I'm a fan of cyberpunk stuff but it's so out of place on Tatooine. Would've been very cool on Coruscant. The whole scene felt like something from TCW even the music was like Kiner's first season work.
Whatever, I think people from the show said 5-7 are good so here's hoping. I wonder if they were teasing a Mando appearance since his theme played at the end.

I think they shot themselves in the foot with the Godfather premise. It just doesn't provide that much opportunity for action. Literally having someone else vying for power and Boba working under them would've allowed the character to stay true and see more action. Like what if Rotta tried to claim power and Boba worked for him. He doesn't have to like it, maybe he could even leave or betray Rotta at the end. Also why not explore something about him being a clone? So many angles they could've went with. Wasted potential
The truth is they already used up all their tricks with Mando. He is Disney's version of Boba Fett. So now it's like creating a knock off of a knock off. This show was my most anticipated of all the ones announced and now all I want is for them to just go back to Mando lmao

Well we basically got Mando season 3 episode 1 here... Sad that the best episode of the Boba show is actually an episode of the Mandalorian... There was a lot to love in this but I still have some nitpicks. The TLJ horse reference annoyed me. Why is the darksaber heavy? Are there only three X-Wing cops in the whole galaxy? And how did Fennec know Mando was on Tatooine? Also I think there was a little too much fan service.
I wish they didn't do Boba so dirty. I don't even care about him anymore I just want to get back to Din. It felt good seeing all this worldbuilding, it was like a reminder we were in the Star Wars galaxy.

Okay, why was Mando season 3 in this? Why did the budget look higher this time? Why did we get a load of time focused on rebuilding a ship when it could just be a montage? Why not have Boba get his bounty hunter buds together as well for the extra hype factor? Why more of the stupid X-Wing pilot stuff? I don't get it. It's like it's hard to make a kickass Boba show, but Disney sure seems to make it out to be sometimes.

I wanted to like this but this episode just made me feel bad... I liked seeing Cobb, I figured he would return. He might become one of my favorites tbh if he has more appearances. The bit with him kicking the spice was just really cool.
But after that the disappointment starts... Seeing the TLJ temple being built sucked so much. Another reminder there is no escape from the sequels. Why not go to Yavin like in legends or reclaim the Coruscant temple? But nah let's go to lazy grass planet with ugly rock buildings. I get it's cheaper but just knowing what happens is frustrating.
Knightfall scene was sick. They didn't have to do it but it was a nice treat seeing the 501st. Though we still don't know how Grogu escaped
Then Filoni's waifu returns... I wish they saved Ahsoka for a more meaningful interaction with Luke. Are we not going to see how they met? Luke telling her about Vader's redemption?
Then there's Cad Bane. He looked kinda weird but not a big deal. Wonder if they had a body double and had the TCW voice actor dub the lines. But I'm honestly sick of them just throwing in fan favorite characters everywhere to distract the audience from bad writing. I think he showed up kinda late too. The antagonists of the Boba story are so weak. I still don't get why the Pykes are a big deal. So what if they're running spice through Tatooine? That's nothing new, no one cared before. They should've shown why they are trouble for the people of Tatooine. I guess they blew up the sanctuary in this episode but again kinda late...
And of course Boba has been made a side character in his own show lmao. I feel bad for Tem.

So the main thing that made me feel bad from this episode was Luke and Filoni's asinine decision with him. There is no way Luke would follow the attachment rule. Attachment allowed him to save Vader. Luke's Jedi are supposed to be different from the old order. It shows you don't need to strictly adhere to the rules to be a good and noble Jedi. This is in line with Qui-Gon's ideals.
Cannot believe he gave that ultimatum to a baby. Luke would never do that. He was such an asshole in this episode tbh like I actually wondered if this was Luuke lol. These are very small things but I thought him lifting those frogs and just dropping them was wrong. Why disturb them? And when he and Grogu were walking through the forest and Luke kept force pushing him to keep up, that was kinda weird too. Ahsoka was also a bitch for not letting Din see Grogu. This all seems to be in line with TLJ's Jedi bad philosophy...
I wanted to see Luke very badly and he looked beautiful here. The voice was a bit off, kinda sounded like a robot I guess because it literally is lol. Not that big of a deal. But I just can't appreciate it because I think they wrote him wrong once again.
Oh bonus points for Filoni once again arrogantly shitting on publishing content and overwriting Yoda's saber being melted by Mas Amedda

I really hope Luke is just pulling our legs and it's meant as a big gotcha moment in the next one, because if not, I'm more disappointed in Dave than usual with this kind of writing fumble. The EU made a lot of mistakes, but the handling of Luke was not one of them when it came to defining the new Jedi Order's views on attachment. I mean, maybe this is just trick question for Grogu, but why the hell is Ahsoka adhering to this ideology when she left the Order over such ideological issues!? Hell, she was trained by Anakin, so she'd be even less likely to follow it.
I think you're really on the money Obi with having these big league characters basically mask the poor writing. It's an excellent distraction from the poor choices and, guess what? It works a charm and fools a lot of people.

Having Luke instead rebuilding the Jedi temple on Coruscant would've been so much more impactful, or at least have the Jedi Praxeum on Yavin 4 or a startup on Cloud City. Don't get me wrong, I liked the bamboo planet, but the temple is lame.

But I don't know if Filoni would get his own character wrong. My explanation is she fell back on the order's code after learning about Vader. But then if she learned how Luke saved him would she not change her view again? I probably would've preferred her to die before ANH so as not to diminish Luke's significance. But I figured by keeping her around, we'd at least get the incredible story opportunity of Anakin's apprentice meeting his son. And we actually got to that point only to have that moment occur off screen... Here's hoping for some flashbacks in the Ahsoka series or something

Some cool action scenes I guess but it was never going to redeem the bad writing of the first four episodes. Also everyone's cheering for Boba after his Rancor leveled half the town? Lol. Guarantee the Pykes caused less harm to the planet than him. I still do not understand why they were a problem aside from "drugs bad"...
Back to the rancor, tbh it felt kinda silly for Boba to bring it in instead of the Slave I. Or they should've had Fennec fly the Slave I to cover more ground. Also did I miss it or did they not even destroy the third droid?
Filoni actually killing off one of his OCs is a surprise. Man he always kills off characters at the wrong time though like look at Taun awe for example. They show up as a cool little cameo and then they're dead. I would've preferred if Bane was introduced earlier and played a more significant role in the story.
5/10 show for me honestly. The 5 Boba episodes were weak and the 2 Mando episodes had a little too much fan service that ended up taking me out of it. It's also annoying how disjointed those episodes made the series like Boba should've gotten his own thing without Mando needlessly hijacking it.
Also thank god Han didn't show up. A Boba vs Han rematch was all I wanted before this show started but this version of Boba would never fight him

Also Fennec always steals Boba's glory. Why did she kill all the leaders instead of Boba? She also killed the Sarlacc. I guess the only person Boba actually killed was Bane.
And I can't comment too much on the Luke/Grogu stuff because they might plan to revisit it. But imagine if they don't revisit it... So Grogu and Luke parted ways for good? What happened to "I will give my life to protect the child"?

After watching this, you really wonder if they're just making it up as they go along like the ST. It's like the whole story with Grogu through all the Mando episodes was a pointless exercise, because it made season 2's ending pointless. We now have to believe both Luke and Ahsoka are actually stupidly falling into the old Order's pitfalls, Bane gets one major return for like two seconds just to get pecked off (to be honest, he should've been dead long, long before this), irritating comic relief that once again remind us Star Wars humour is best staying with its old school dry, sarcastic stuff ANH started with and some bizarrely thought out actions scenes.
I just don't get it, there's so much that feels like it's so desperate to be like an old western, it forgets its own sense of logic and strategy. Not to mention there's too many times where this show doesn't quite have enough budget to match its ambition. It tries aiming high, yet ends up feeling tinny.
Above all else, it's incredibly disjointed, puts its main character through an odd shift in attitude and kind of weakens him for the sake of the plot. Again, I'm left wondering, why do these guys make it seem like it's so hard to make Star Wars really good?

Someone talented might've been able to turn them into a good HBO drama but what we got just felt very rushed and messy. Too much time wasted on the flashbacks and Mando episodes leaving not enough to flesh out the story and set up the antagonistic forces. There is also so much tell instead of show. Like the important thing is Boba establishing his little empire but we never see this. We never see the people on his side or why he is loyal to them. The end feels like back to square one with struggling to start out a criminal empire with no allies. Tbh I could go on and on like it's crazy how sloppy the writing is. It's like TROS level The lack of Slave 1 and the generally weak villains in the Pykes just makes things worse. There's no Crimson Dawn to get involved, no curveball, nothing. Right there was like no world building. Crimson Dawn, maybe an old Q'ira would've been an interesting angle. I guess the little tease at the end was Cobb still being alive but what happens with that? I can't imagine there being a season 2. I hope there isn't considering there was barely a season 1 for Boba. And as much as I like Cobb, I don't really want him to get a show because frankly that will officially be too much of Tatooine and the western theme.

My dad was away for a month on work so I waited for him to finished episodes 4-7.
Ok first off… no way is Bane dead. This is Star Wars. They introduced this whole concept of cybernetics throughout the whole season. Which Bane already is and the beeping when they zoomed in on his body? I mean yeah he might not be seen in content for awhile but they left the window open for him to come back. But he’s old now as well. I did like his inclusion though, they used the CW voice actor for sure and the duel was sort of a fitting end for the rivals. Kinda better then Kenobi vs Maul at least.
I really still want to see that Clone Wars arc though, honestly I think we might still get it eventually. You’d have to imagine these two met sometime during the empire era though…
