Been waiting for this one. The first four-part arc and one of the biggest battles we see. I know we dug these episodes when they came out. Are they still just as cool?

Really like the screenshots for these episodes, Spider, especially that shot of Kenobi.

I like the first 2 episodes a lot but I was never a big fan of the worm stuff. I like that stuff but it always kinda bugged me how the actual Second Battle of Geonosis was over so quickly. (Technically it was faster than Ryloth)

I like the first 2 episodes a lot but I was never a big fan of the worm stuff. The worm story always felt tacked on in my opinion, but maybe it'll seem different after watching them again.

Landing at Point Rain is such a great episode. Even though there's not too much plot-wise, the action sequences more than make up for it. Witnessing the battle from multiple fronts was awesome, and they really make the Geonosians and Battle Droids formidable here. Ki-Adi Mundi was pretty cool, and this is his biggest moment in the series.
I like the various references to AOTC, such as Kenobi referencing the arena situation to Cody. There's not really much to complain about, although I guess the final sequence felt a little easy after all the happened before it in the episode. Seeing Ahsoka and Anakin share a moment like Legolas and Gimli during Helm's Deep by counting kills was a little odd, I feel like that's something clones would do more so. Given they're both unorthodox Jedi though, I'll let it slide.

Although I think it's weaker than the previous episode, Weapons Factory is still enjoyable. They manage to flesh out Luminara more, especially her dynamic with Barriss and Anakin. It's also nice to see how Anakin reacts to the possible death of Ahsoka, which is some good foreshadowing to his actions in ROTS. The ending with both padawans could've been a little more drawn out though, it felt a little rushed.
I don't think the destruction of the factory automatically won the struggle on Geonosis, but I'm guessing it made the rest of the fight much easier. This seems a little easy when thinking about it, but it's not a huge issue. I think Yularen's mention of it being a planetary-wide assault in LAPR displays the scope of the siege.
It's also interesting to watch this episode knowing how Barriss and Ahsoka end up.

Landing at Point Rain is still one of the best battle episodes, probably was the best up until Umbara came out. Although you can’t help but wonder why the separatists didn’t have a fleet protecting Geonosis however I guess they were trying to keep it under the radar a bit since the Republic figured they already conquered the planet.
Overall not much to say, there’s no character building of greater story. Just a cool action packed battle really. 8/10

I really like the banter between Anakin and Obi-Wan in Legacy of Terror. The whole concept of that episode is pretty cool, and the line "I make observations while you think with your lightsaber" was a good touch. It was neat to learn more about Geonosis, and after watching the Geonosis arc from Rebels, this is even cooler.
Of the final two episodes, Brain Invaders handles the zombie story better. There's much more tension, and the writing was very good, since it took two characters that aren't really fan favorites (compared to Obi-Wan and Anakin at the time this aired) and made a compelling story. There's Order 66 vibes, and the setting of the Republic frigate is very fitting. I also loved the inclusion of the Imperial March when Anakin interrogated Poggle.
Overall, the zombie plotline was better than I remembered, and it definitely showed the show could take interesting turns in its stories, versus focusing only on conventional Star Wars ideas.

Weapons Factory is ok. Obviously a large portion of it is building a relationship between Ahsoka and Barriss. The action sequences and the story as a whole though were kinda meh. Like they really only had one droid foundry? And that ONE foundry was such a threat they had to conquer the whole planet when the admiral says “planet wide invaision”.
I actually think I preferred when Star Wars Rebels revisited Geonosis then seeing it again so soon after AOTC...
anyways Weapons Factory is a. 7/10. I’m not looking forward to the next two that much

Landing at Point Rain is probably the definitive TCW battle episode, and really pushed the kinds of battles the show could do. Even though we already had Ryloth and even Christophsis, those battles felt very restricted and simple by comparison. Every conflict seemed to happen in one local where everything was almost too easy to keep track of. This episode showed how much they could do now and that's what makes it unforgettable. For what I consider the first half of the show, where it was at least 80% Jedi and Clones vs Droids, this is probably the definitive episode. But is it the best one? No. Even for the first half of the show, it's pretty weak on plot, to the point where the fortune cookie doesn't really make sense. But then again, that's not really what it was trying to do. It was trying to be a badass battle episode and it passed with flying colors. Though with all that happens, the pacing is still a bit strange, especially towards the end. And given that we know this is after "The Zillo Beast" it's a little strange we see V-19s and not ARC-170s. A really good episode though in retrospect it is kinda eclipsed by things like Umbara. 8/10

Weapons Factory is a good episode. But the main issue is that it follows after "Landing at Point Rain" and the de facto end of the Second Battle of Geonosis. Even though the factory is destroyed, it doesn't feel all that satisfying. The plot is good here, it's welcome but it feels out of place to have what feels like a small character struggle after what came before. The battle here is not bad, but it feels much less impressive and ultimately similar to Season 1, which is disappointing. Again, this episode is not bad at all. It introduces Barriss and does a good job with that. But it can't help but feel like a middling part of the battle when it should have been a climax. 7/10

Also you can hear Ahsoka's theme at the end of LAPR. It's always nice to hear but I'm not sure why they added it here when really nothing emotional is happening.

Also I'm not sure how Poggle escaped in WF. I'm not sure how far those catacombs go but you think any shuttle he'd take would be shot down.

Legacy of Terror is another really good episode. I never expected TCW to play in the horror genre, but this episode does it pretty well. I think it's fair to say that the Geonosis Arc can really be broken into three arcs. First you have Senate Spy as a standalone, the two-part Second Battle of Geonosis arc, and now the Zombie Arc. Like I said, I would have liked to close out the battle in a better way but the brain worms storyline is cool and a nice change of pace, even if it's a but Star Trek. I don't really have a whole lot to say about this arc. Similar to LAPR, it takes a simple idea and does it really well. One thing that I noticed was Anakin beheading one of the Geonosians. It's really quick but you can clearly see the decapitated head on the floor. Anyway, 7/10.

Brain Invaders is great. It plays like a space horror, and the elements mesh well once again. There's a lot to unpack in this one. First, it's interesting to see Barriss talking about the role of Jedi and how they should be peacekeepers instead of warriors, especially knowing where she ends up. Also perhaps the most famous part of the episode, the force choke and the Imperial March. We had seen very little of Anakin's dark side so far in the show, so bringing it out here was really welcome, as we'd soon be seeing a lot of it. Also interesting that Barriss killing clones and fighting Ahsoka originated here. I a;ways kinda wondered what would happen if they fought without Ahsoka having the advantage of cold, but of course we'd find out. Solid one. 8/10.

Man, I forgot how incredible LAPR is. Sure, coming back to Geonosis is a retread, but it really doesn't matter when everything about it is so exceptional. Some of the cinematography here is terrific and I love the frantic, desperate. on the ropes nature going on. However, is it me, or is Anakin making games out of war a really early sign of his brutality as Vader? I'm probably over thinking it, given it's mostly droids we're talking about, but there were a lot of Geonosians as well who met his kill tally... Then again, they're end wasn't nearly as brutal as the flametrooper scene. Damn, I forget how dark that was...
Sadly, this is basically where the arc peaks. It's kind of a shame they couldn't keep this kind of momentum going.

Landing at Point Rain is pretty good. I like the beginning more, the whole landing sequence is pretty badass. I like that everything was going wrong right from the start and the moments without any music really highlighted the severity of the situation. I think it's a good episode to sort of just switch your brain off and enjoy the action. Also was it just me or did Obi-Wan seem tired in this episode? In the beginning it looked like he had bags under his eyes and his voice just sounded tired. Maybe he was having PTSD from the arena lol. I liked the shot at the end where he was relieved he didn't have to make a last stand as reinforcements arrived at the last second. I do ageee with Star though that the ending felt a little quick and taking down the shield was kinda easy for them.
I think it's actually a good thing that they went back to Geonosis. Once a planet is captured it doesn't mean it can't be recaptured and that's what they showed.
Odd that the 212th has camo armor but the 501st does not. Also it looks like Ki-Adi-Mundi's clones have the same colors as the 212th... A little weird. Would've been nice to just see Bacara and the marines

Weapons Factory is not bad. Nothing too much to say about it although I do kind of question their plan. Anakin kinda marched a Potato Rules ton of men to their deaths on that bridge... And taking out the factory was the main objective of the whole campaign but they only sent two padawans to do it? Idk
Oh yeah and did they even show Poggle escaping? Seems like they forgot about that... Or maybe I did I don't remember lol

And the 212th has normal armor again in Legacy of Terror.. hm... But again not much to say cool that they tried some horror stuff. I like that each episode in this arc had a very distinguishable plot line while still being part of the Geonosis invasion. But it feels like the planet was taken back too quickly because the battle pretty much ended before this episode.
Oh well that's a wrap for Geonosis since the next one is mainly on a ship. Can't wait to see the planet in battlefront I'm sure they will take a lot of inspiration from these episodes

Technically it’s Ghost Company for the 212th. That’s what Cody commands

Brain Invaders is good too. Hearing the Vader theme is always cool. Also animation is pretty good at this point, the part where Ahsoka ruptures the coolant looked really good and I liked her and fisto's bright colored skin contrasting with the white ship interiors. Also I noticed one of the clones shares the name Havoc with the blue ARC Trooper from the Kamino episodes. I think they're different though
I'd say this was a pretty solid arc. It was nice to see them trying new things and it was pretty impressive in many ways. Maybe not amazing compared to later stories but still very good.
