Well that's pretty convenient. Would buying cutlery off Ebay ease the costs? And as s someone who very much likes to save up, I can understand the feeling Do you have a plan on getting income to top up the reserves? Well not from Ebay, most of the stuff comes from outside the EU there which means you have to pay import and delivery fees that surpass the price, so it is rarely worth buying there. But my girlfriend said she found some cutlery package at Ikea for 40 euros, so I suppose we will just get that. And yeah I guess I have to get some income to cover the monthly costs. I can borrow almost 1000 euros a month, which would more than cover the costs, but I would prefer keeping my debts low. I can't work much because I am still in university, but my girlfriend works 16 hours a week and that makes her about 400 euros which covers a significant part of her share of the monthly costs probably. If I do the same that's 800 a month we can use to pay rent and service costs, that should ensure we won't have to borrow too much. Ah yes, the tried and tested Ikea method of filling a house Well that's not so bad then. I sure hope you won't be needing to borrow too much. When dept gets high, it can weigh down on you. At least that's what I think I would feel

At least that's what I think I would feel Well the conditions for borrowing from the government are pretty lax. You only have to pay it back once you have an acceptable income and then only a certain percentage so it won't get you in financial troubles. You also pay 0% interest. Still, it will be a problem to have debts if you ever want to buy a house. Luckily everyone of our generation has higher debts due to the new borrowing system (before education was almost free). So we will still be less screwed than everyone else.

Jeez, the more I hear about the financial and legal framework in the Netherlands, the more I want some of that here I don't think you can get anything like that kind of borrowing arrangement here Well that's oddly convenient Still, I get the feeling people of our generation are better off there than over here. Housing isn't in short supply, but the costs are just outrageous and unfair, if you don't mind the Anakin quote Doesn't help that people take up such massive student loans and wind up with substandard education. Seriously, our schooling system is just a joke.

Y'know, I just realised the next Matrix movie is coming out near my birthday and it's so weird how there's still zero marketing or title to speak of

Seemed like the story ended. It sure did, but now the Wachowskis are going back to the well because all studios think these days is "nostalgia sells". The big part I wonder is if they'll stick to the same visual style as the original films. I wonder about that because the Matrix's style just screams late 90s/early 2000s and I wonder if this will look like a blast from the past

You painting the walls in your home or are you painting pictures as a new hobby and it hasn't been as fun as you hoped?

It's time to do something new. I feel like that's a growing sentiment really. I saw that new Free Guy movie and I just found it so refreshing to see a big, new film that goes with something halfway original. Kinda hope we can see a trend of studios slowly trying out new ideas here and there, because it's getting so old seeing the same, old stuff being used...

Best I can do is abstract painting, because there's no rules Are you almost done with wall painting now?

Painting walls yourself seems like quite an endeavor. Couldn’t imagine doing it lol. We had professionals repaint our house and it looks like so much work

We had professionals repaint our house and it looks like so much work My dad's painted our walls in the past and I can confirm it can take a very long time if it's a one man job. And now my grandma is offering to pay me and my brother to paint one of her walls. Can't tell you how pleased I am about doing just one wall

Jeez, sure has been quiet here this past week... Moving takes up a lot of time. I also started working at the train station, selling snacks and stuff like that. It's 16 hours a week and it sucks, but it provides me with enough money to pay for the costs of my house + some more. So I won't end up with any student debt now. What have you been up to?

Though admittedly we only did the living room and a few other walls. But it was easy enough. The bedroom had all these holes in the wall though so we had to put up wallpaper... now THAT was a lot of work...

Well congrats on the job. Sounds a lot better than any cleaning jobs I've seen for train stations Been writing articles for people. It's a bit tricky though as I've been regularly writing video game articles for a customer that all focus on games I've never played before Been also hunting for more writer jobs, but it's always coming up with subjects I'd really need a degree in first like medical and technical writing.

Are you doing more review stuff or like information articles on websites? Not so much review stuff, but more like guides and articles and they can get pretty specific. One regular customer had me writing a 1000 word long article detailing what happens in a particular raid in the Destiny 2 game Every article I do for her also has to have one last paragraph basically shilling for this game boosting site (it's a service where you literally pay someone to play a game for you to level up, get particular stuff etc. ) I also did a whole guide on coffee machines, which was oddly enlightening, since I don't drink coffee

Hello. How has everyone been? I had a feeling some people would still be around. Honestly, it was still fairly active for a long time, but the last few months have been kind of dead... Thanks in part to me I guess. I got randomly selected for a housing offer (which is very rare in the Netherlands, there is a housing crisis) and I actually have been quite busy moving to a new house in a new city with my girlfriend. How have you been?

But a lot of eager kids out tonight trick or treating that’s for sure. Went to a Halloween party with some work colleagues yesterday as well
