I fucked up bros. My driver's license expires in like two weeks and I didn't realize how long the waitlist for an appointment at the DMV would be. So earliest I can go there is January 7 and it'll be some weeks after that for my actual license to come in as well... So that's like at least a month of not being able to drive. 😔 Well that stinks Do you have any decent access to public transport?

Tbh public transport isn't really the norm here outside of like the big cities such as New York or maybe big tourism spots. I mean there's occasional busses here but I've never used one in my life. My perception is in suburban cities most everyone has a car it's really only sort of "marginalized groups" that rely on public transport...

Jeez, that's some heavy pricing. With trains here I bought a year long railcard that cuts down the price of train fare, which saves a good bit. I'm not sure if you have something like that there though and to be honest the subscription for the weekends sounds cheaper Yeah, I can easily imagine that being a real sinking feeling when such a privilege disappears Yeah they have discounts here too. But it is probably more beneficial if only occasionally use the train. For me it is my primary mode of transport, so even with all the discounts it is still expensive. Man, that is rotten Public transport here is also pretty brutal. We live just a few miles outside the city and the bus is still a big price.

From what I've seen and heard public transport really sticks mostly to the city in the US. I guess it's why buying and owning a car there isn't quite as costly as it is here. Perhaps cycling can be a solution?

Perhaps cycling can be a solution? Lol I wish cycling or walking was better here. Sidewalks and bike lanes are not consistent though, especially the latter. I do see cyclists on main roads sometimes but personally I'd be pretty wary to do that with all the car traffic. Everything's also pretty spread out. Like my parents' house and even when I'm at college campus, both locations are close to shops and whatnot but not so close that you could easily walk there Oh well. I did manage to move up the appointment by a week so it probably won't be that bad I don't really go out much anyway lol

Preordered Cyberpunk even though it's coming out tomorrow. Best Buy is giving free steel books with it so thought why not lol. Unfortunately I've heard the game looks like crap on OG Xbox One which is what I have but I'm expecting them to put out some patches to improve it soon. If it never becomes good enough idk maybe I just won't play it until I get a new console. Since the next gen upgrade is free I figure not much of a difference between getting it now and waiting
Kinda stupid though that it's not optimized for next gen when it releases around the same time but also somehow not optimized for current gen when it would've been in development for that the longest... Also while I always wanted to get the game, I can't say I'm hyped enough to need it on day one... But whatever we'll see

I just assumed it would release on all simultaneously. Feels like they spent more time gameplay tweaking.

The launch of Cyberpunk has decimated the reputation of the company. That was horrible.

The launch of Cyberpunk has decimated the reputation of the company. That was horrible. What happened? It's super buggy and also looks terrible. Not really an expert on the technical stuff but on the older consoles everything looks blurry, constant frame drops, textures not loading, etc. along with crashes and stuff. Seems like there's not enough NPCs in the world to save on memory I guess and certain features like changing your character appearance after you start the game are not available I'm praying they're able to make improvements with some patches soon. My copy hasn't come in yet but I'll be playing on the weakest console so I'm really worried about performance. If it never gets better I'll probably just shelf the game until I upgrade to a next gen system It's kinda dumb though like this game has been in dev for so many years yet there's so many problems. It is also supposed to be a last gen title so it should work on all last gen consoles. If they couldn't optimize for them they should've just locked it to next gen only. But I guess I get it they were kind of in a tough spot. It's already been delayed for so long even more delays would've caused a lot of outrage. And people not being able to play it on the consoles they have would've caused some outcry too.

I’ve been having fun with cyberpunk so far but it’s definitely no Witcher 3. Also Kenbo you can still drive just don’t get pulled over. I went 180KM on the highway with no insurance info in my car lol

I think patches are inbound, but it's still a shame it hasn't exactly hit the ground running.

Been reading a book about George Lucas and it's actually been a good read. It's oddly sweet and somewhat relateable hearing about the feelings he had growing up. One take away though is that Francis Ford Coppola was one outrageously crafty fox in getting the studios to do what he wanted

Jeez, I think I just read the story of the first Star Wars fan being created. Apparently a Fox executive that'd been one of the few who had faith in the film saw a rough cut and wept with joy watching it and told his wife it was the most extraordinary day of his life. I never thought studio suits ever reacted like that

Turns out big seven seaters require you be to be at least 25 to get behind the wheel in the UK. Sadly I found that out right when I got my license, which kinda dashed my hopes then

Besides, if they're worried about speed demon hooligans in their late teens and early 20s, what would make them want a joyride from a car like that?

Well... my father got corona... I am in quarantine now for at least 10 days... Aw man, that just sucks Pinda. Has your dad got symptoms, or is he asymptomatic? So far he has mild symptoms, but he has only been ill for 3 days now. Usually the fifth day is the most crucial apparently. He is generally quite healthy though... but he does have asthma, which could be an extra risk. He actually got it from a colleague (he is a teacher and had to work on location) on the last day before primary and secondary education would go into lockdown again. So if they had reintroduced the lockdown a day earlier there would be no problem.

At least it's only mild and if it helps my dad has asthma and in the most recent times when we got a bug, he was normally the least affected by it.

My mother tested positive too and had slightly worse symptoms, but still very mild. My father quarantined himself at his school (they are closed until mid January anyway). And I tested negative yesterday, if I do that again in two days I can leave the house again.
Let's hope this is it. And we are all done in a week.
