Watched the first three episodes... Honestly writing quality is not much worse than Rebels maybe about the same. But they are trash at making main characters. The MC for this is terrible about as bad or worse than Ezra. Why do they have to be annoying as fuck with high pitched screaming all the time? The voice actors for this guy and Ezra both suck.
The animation with a few tweaks could be okay I think. It doesn't really feel very fluid the characters seem kinda jumpy I guess. It's also really flat and smooth. I guess it's like Rebels animation in 2D. Some more detail would've been good
But idk I just can't put aside my hatred of the sequels when watching this. The sequels have made this whole time period terrible. One of the things I hate most is the First Order and Resistance conflict. It makes no sense and neither do the belligerents. Ripping off the OT to this level has seriously hurt the universe. It doesn't matter if they actually make something decent, if it's set in the sequel era I don't think I can like it.

Wow this show actually isn't utter garbage like I thought it would be... Often it's even less cringe than Rebels. I mean it's not great either but it's watchable I think. If you can get through Rebels I think you can get through this.
It would probably even be decent if it was set during the Empire era. But sadly it's in the bootleg knock off Empire era...
It's kinda boring though. Like they never leave their station. Maybe it's because I just don't like or care about any of the characters and there's not much of a story

I hate the First Order so much their existence does not make any sense. The battered remains of the Empire hide in the unknown regions for 30 years and then suddenly become a galactic superpower possessing sleeker and more advanced technology and equipment than the New Republic. And the New Republic doesn't do anything to stop them either... Like how incompetent are they that they will allow a second Empire to establish itself right under their nose
So because the First Order is stupid, their inclusion in this show makes the show suffer. So the Captain of the Collosus platform, an ex Imperial, debates whether or not to allow a First Order occupation. The First Order stems from the Empire so I'm not sure why this is a hard decision for him they should basically be his friends. Also the citizens are totally cool with the FO occupation because they think it's nice to have extra security from pirates... Wtf?
Does no one remember the Empire? There are literally the exact same TIE fighters flying around and exact same Stormtroopers on patrol. If people didn't like the Empire, why would they think the FO could be better when they look exactly the fucking same. Even people who liked the Empire probably changed their mind later because if they got overthrown, that would make them weak and not worth supporting
Fuck Disney for ruining the canon. Copy/pasting the OT has seriously detrimental effects on the universe. Including just some in-universe politics could help explain this stuff but that's right politics bad.....

Just finished season 1. I wish it wasn't 20 episodes per season it's kind of a slog... But not terrible, it can be fun. Kinda like Rebels it has a sort of "cozy" feeling like I like the premise behind the Colossus platform. Unfortunately there's just not a single character I like except maybe Captain Doza but he has a small role. Rebels at least had a couple likeable characters in the main ensemble like Kanan and Kallus
But like I said being in the sequel era just holds it back. I did like Poe in this though he acted cool and not like a cocky and impulsive hothead like he was in TLJ...

Along with Luke's character assassination, the First Order/Resistance conflict is one of the worst things Disney added to Star Wars and is just several layers of stupid. It's just so utterly forced in trying to bring back the Empire/Rebellion status quo. What's worse is the whole "Evil Empire vs resistance" is just such a painfully overly used trope now. If they at least had the FO face the New Republic instead it would it would've improved things. Frankly though, it would've been better if they made a whole new threat, but that's too risky, because you'd have to be creative... |

Finished the show. Yeah idk it's just kinda boring... Poe just disappeared suddenly which I thought was weird. I guess they couldn't get Oscar back. In season 1 he was leaving for Jakku indicating the start of TFA but I think he could've at least been referenced somehow again. It's weird because Kaz' spy mission is over but he doesn't get any new orders from the Resistance.
I think Phasma also only appeared once in season 2. I believe they got a different VA for her so they could've shown her without Gwendolyn's voice. Maybe at least reference her death in TLJ. I knew Kylo would be in this season from the trailer but I expected a larger role. He literally didn't do anything just force choked a couple people through a hologram in the finale... Pretty pointless... Matthew Wood voiced him though lol
Actually some cool voice actors on the show. Elijah Wood played a recurring character and Liam McIntyre, voice of Pyre, also did Taron Malicos in Fallen Order

It doesn't really make sense how season 2 was just about being on the run from the FO though. Like in the first season FO wanted the platform because it was a strategic resupply location or something. But in season 2 they take the platform into space. Don't think it has any strategic value then. Kinda dumb for the FO to waste so many resources on destroying a ship that's mostly just civilians. Not really even a rebel cell.
Idk I might've missed some stuff because I was on my phone during a lot of episodes lol
Sidon Ithano also had a cameo which was cool. But they could've done way more with him don't know what possible reason there is not to use him. Could've showed Kix with him that would've been dope
But anyway yeah idk some cool things here and there. Like planets and designs and whatnot. Overall not great. Finale wasn't too impressive I think season 1's was better. But I guess it got a decently satisfying happy ending unlike TCW.... Or maybe I'm just satisfied because I don't care about seeing more lol
