Other then Old Republic the interwar years between ROTS and ANH were my favorite. But I'm not certain about this show. Seems to be based around BB8 and pilots? Kinda cool they got Oscar Isaac and Gwendoline Christie I guess... I doubt it's gonna be a long series because of it though, they probably don't have time to dedicate to an animated show for an extended period.

Looks like it's gonna be a more traditional/ main stream animation style though unlike TCW and Rebels with its full 3D animation.

I think this will just be like a longer version of Forces of Destiny. If it's focused around BB-8 I doubt there will even be any proper story...
And it's still on Disney XD great... They need to make a show on Netflix but that's right, they're pulling all their stuff from Netflix for their own streaming shit... That no one will use

Nothing about this, except the idea of it being 2D and anime inspired (a la Voltron and Avatar) excites me. I mean how many of us were interested in knowing more about bleeding Resistance pilots? I know I'm not and I know that Rebels burned too much for me to bother any more.

Like when TFA came out I was pretty sad we weren’t seeing the intended stories of characters like Cad Bane or Asajj Ventress. But like the moment I saw the Resistance pilot played by a Sand Snake, I stood up and said there’s a character I could follow. There’s a character I could watch every week on Friday 9/8 Central, only on Disney XD. |

This sounds worse than Rebels... did not think that would be possible. Who cares about a bunch of random pilots? Also didn't Rebels end on some kind of cliffhanger? (I have only seen bits of the finale). Wouldn't it make more sense to have a series set directly after ROTJ first? Or are they just going to pretend nothing happened to Rebels/TCW characters in that time again? I mean I dislike Rebels, but they should probably tie up the lose ends first right?

So is this supposed to be the next main animated series like Rebels was? Or is it a smaller scale one that's killing time before the next true one?
The general concept isn't horrible, but the direction it seems to be taking seems boring.

Since they got actual movie actors to play the parts I'm guessing it's not going to be a long series... just a tie over kind of thing until the real next animated series comes out. Forces of Destiny got the real actors and voice actors and those were only shorts, the movie guys just don't have time to commit to this animated stuff a lot |

Maybe a mini series like the original Clone Wars which in total length isn't that long. Probably will be longer then that but of the same quality at best

I hope it doesn’t try to be like Rebels and take things older fans want (like they did with Ahsoka, Maul, Thrawn) and force them to partake in kiddy crap.
If Rebels just stayed 100% kiddie crap, I would’ve just accepted it and ignored it. (Well at least if it wasn’t replacing TCW)

Sadly I can't help thinking Ahsoka and Thrawn might be thrown in that pile as well I don't think Ezra of Thrawn will be in it, I think there's something greater planned for those two after the ending of Rebels and since DF is not directly involve in Resistance I don't think he will approve of taking the next step with those two. Ahsoka and Thrawn were fine though in Rebels and Rex was very well used imo, I think he was a very fitting character for the rebellion especially after his development in TCW. Maul was more questionable but his overall conclusion was ok. It was always going to be Obi-Wan killing him. As for Resistance, I think it's aimed at very young audiences, new Star Wars fans brought in my the sequels. I'm fine with it, I probably won't even watch it tbh. |

Animation looks really nice imo. Love all those colors. And it’s on regular Disney and not XD? That’s good
But I don’t like the humor they do in this stuff. It’s not funny it’s cringe. And my problem with all sequels era content is hardly any of the characters are like able. This main dude and probably even the girl seem like copies of Ezra and Sabine, two not so great characters. I’m curious about seeing Poe though I wonder if he’ll be a regular or just like a guest appearance in the first episode.
