Didn’t they say “anime inspired” though? Idk. It really doesn’t look much like anime but this is coming from someone who doesn’t watch anime. But what about Cory in the House?  As someone who has watched a bit of Dragonball here, some Pokémon there, I can definitely say this does not look like anime. Saying it is has to be one of the flimsiest, lamest excuses for "We've got an even lower budget this time". |

I will admit, after watching that trailer again the animation is not necessarily worse than Rebels. It is harder to compare because it is a different style from both TCW and Rebels. It just looks much more childish... and it is not like Rebels was for adult audiences... I don't think this series is going to have anything good in it. It will definitely be worse than Rebels somehow. I just hope they keep the TCW characters out of this. But Filoni is working on it... so I guess we can expect an Ahsoka cameo at least.

For what it is, the animation doesn't look awful, but I prefer the 3D style of TCW and Rebels.
I doubt there will be any major characters from TCW or Rebels in this show. It seems to be focusing solely on the sequel trilogy characters, and I think that is for the best. Hopefully they don't drag this show out, that way Filoni can begin another series more along the lines of TCW.

Honestly it is just such a waste of talent that Dave Filyazaki is gonna be stuck working on this Potato Rulesty anime. This anime looks like the worst thing to come out of Japan since Pearl Harbor.

So apparently Dave Filoni is only a consultant on this show and only checks on it periodically... he said he's mainly working on TCW right now. I think it's good that they're trying to get some new talent to work on animations (Dave can't do it all and he can't do it forever), but what they have to offer so far does not look good.
With this supposedly only being set 6 months before The Force Awakens, I can't see this getting more than 2 seasons.

I do think it's worth noting though that they've specifically said this is for a younger audience than usual (even younger than Rebels). And I think that's fair, young kids should have a show to watch too. Hopefully everyone in our demographic and older get some good content out of the last Clone Wars episodes and the live action show though.

I actually just watched the 2 part premiere and episode 3 and honestly it really isn’t that bad.... the Animation is acceptable, it isn’t really any worse then like Last Airbender or something.
Honestly the show feels more connected to the franchise as a whole then the sequels do but the whole show does seem to be kind of a side adventure in the Star Wars universe. But the variety in classic aliens and stuff is kinda cool.
My only concern is the tone of the show, so far nobody has been shot or died really besides maybe that one pilot with the Stormtrooper helmet.

It’s cool that this show incorporates a lot from ALL eras.... aliens from PT, OT and ST. Coruscant was mentioned and there was a Nemoidisn with a Trade Federation shuttle from the PT.
Everything kinda feels unique too, the early days of Rebels used slot of the same background models frequently, but not here.
