I've gotten a bit closer with R2... I was able to get him down to like 35% health along with Old Ben and Chewie. I think I can do it before the event ends.

I saw the datamine for the Luke event... looks like each stage is a different locations throughout ANH and maybe we pick up/ use different characters along the way Stage 1: Luke on Tatooine Stage 2: Luke + R2 Stage 3: Luke + R2 + Old Ben And so on until we have to use them all to escape then Death Star at the end Damn, so Han and Leia aren't until later? They're the only ones I have at 7 stars.  That part with characters being added along the way was pure speculation by me, but I saw some datamine stuff and basically the stages of the event are scenes from ANH following Luke. It's basically like ANH told in SWGOH terms. And I bet we will get it for ESB and ROTJ eventually too but it would be cool if we had events like this for every movie |

Also note that unlike Thrawn and R2 the Luke event doesn't say "extremely rare event" so this could be back kinda soon for you to do, I would keep working on the required characters for Commander Luke.
The event could even be up for the next 2 weeks, I say that because it's how long the packs are around, and the current empire packs leave at the same time R2 event ends

Ok the Luke event is EXTREMELY EASY, I betting Gear 8 is all you would need, but 100% guaranteed at gear 9.
It was very thematic though and quite enjoyable, you don't need 7 star to do every phase, you can do the first 4 without 7 star characters but ultimately you can't unlock Luke without all stages

Yup I unlocked Luke, I actually regret how much I prepared for it tbh, I bought the Omega for both of Leia's abilities and I took Stormtrooper Han and Leia to gear 10... the event was really easy and it wasn't need but Leia is a blast to play with R2, she can literally stay perma stealthed all game, and she gains tons of turn meter on her basic. As for Luke himself, mines level 85, gear 8, I've been using him in Galactic War and he's a lot of fun to play. You have a lot of options with him since his abilities once Omega'd can do some really cool things like targets with speed down lose turn meter, targets with defense down get stunned... and his unique buff let's him switch stances basically from a defensive to offensive pose. Unfortunately I can't run him in Arena yet, he's too squishy for my competition but once I get his gear up higher he's going in my main squad. And maybe I can try my first Rancor solo, never done more then 3 million damage before |

As for Zeta on Luke idk yet... I'm not going to Zeta his leader since I run Kenobi lead.
His first unique is ok but honestly Luke has his unique buff most of the time that it really doesn't seem worth it to gain extra stats for the few turns he doesn't have the buff
His second unique is very intriguing, turn meter and protection regain, I'm considering putting the Zeta on that, I got 1 Zeta ready to go

^That's the one. Makes me want to start farming Saxon soon. In fact, I really want to see a team made up of Saxon, Thrawn, Dooku, Death Trooper, and maybe Fives or something. All of those counter attacks would be insane. |

Should have most 7 star by October, assuming Thrawn is coming back by then |

I've got 20 Zeta mats, 13 Omegas, about 1 million credits, and 28 purple mats... I'm 2 short of giving R2 a Zeta.  I've tried doing Cantina battles to get the last couple purple mats, but I'm not getting any. My Galactic War's done too, so I can't get any more from there for today. I know that if I do my Galactic War tomorrow I should have them, but since I'm so close, I don't want to wait any longer. |

Barriss was my first because she's OP and works in every squad, not just certain characters.
Her unique with a Zeta is basically having a 2nd leadership

I put R2 in my squad for awhile when I first unlocked him, gear 10/ level 85, strong mods and I just didn't really like him, Fives seemed a lot better for some reason at the time, keep in mind I was running a Kenobi lead and the leadership allows Fives to taunt. Now I replaced Fives for Thrawn who is an obvious improvement But I'm glad R2 is working for you a lot of people in my guild run R2 with either 1 or 2 Zeta |

Indeed I think in the last 2 days I've either been attacked much less or people are attacking me and losing, lots of Rebels teams popping up now and for Rebels, GK + Zarriss is pretty much a brick wall |
