I watched it again and it is just so badass. I love the beginning with the clones and Vader saying "I will not be denied." And when he arrives on Naboo that is super cool as well. It's a very well done film it feels exactly like Star Wars.
However I kinda hope it's not Mace there that just feels a little weird to me... idk.. I know there are all the theories he survived and whatnot but I think I might prefer him to stay dead. Also looking at this as a series, introducing Mace in the second episode is a little fast lol. Definitely not Obi-Wan though I don't think he'd be on Naboo with an amethyst lightsaber... lol And I think the Death Star would've been the first time they met again. I can see Star Wars theory including Obi-Wan in the series somehow though

I really like how cool Fox looks at the end, although Fox was killed in canon very shortly after ROTS in the latest Vader comics.... Vader executes him for not telling the troopers that Vader wasn’t a Jedi

The space sequences are such high quality, it’s a shame though that he couldn’t take some of the voice lines from the prequels for the memories or use official music

And the "send in the boys in blue" line is cool as well. This is honestly what a Star Wars show should be like and what Disney needs to make

I just read volume 3 of the latest Vader series... it’s decent but not as good as the first 2 volumes. It’s cool how much from the movies and clone wars they tied in with King Lee Char, Ackbar, Raddus, etc and Mon Cala is obviously an important planet for the Rebellion just like the Jedi foresaw. I just don’t like Mon Cala as a planet, really just dislike most aspects about it...
It’s also weird how like every Jedi knows who Vader is in this series, Jocosta I could understand but this random Padawan seems weird and he wasn’t a very great match for Vader, although his little trick with Order 66 on the new batch of clones was quite clever.
I liked the two ending issues, one with Vader vs Tarkin and the last one with Krennic, both were cool and Vader’s little flashbacks during scenes were cool as well.
Anyways can’t wait for the last volume to come out in February, even though I basically know the events of the entire last issue from YouTube.

I also bought the Maul graphic novel, one with Bane and Aurra in it. And I bought the Thrawn: Alliances book.
I ordered the Obi-Wan and Anakin one off Amazon for cheap as well, should be here soon. But I like reading the Marvel graphic novels for Star Wars, they are pretty good quality. I’m very interested in the “Age of the Republic” villains and hero series they got going on now as well, they already released issues for Qui-Gon and Maul and got more on the way for Kenobi, Anakin, Jango, Dooku, Grievous and Padme. Basically they are just standalone character stories. Cool concept. They are also doing Age of Rebellion (OT) and Age of Resistance (ST) later on.

I remember seeing something like Maul has some trippy what if he was a Jedi vision in his issue and Qui-Gon goes on some force journey like Yoda did. Cool side adventures are nice, especially for lesser explored characters like Jinn and Jango

I think that one with Krennic was like an Annual issue or something, so it wasn't written by the same author that wrote the rest of the series. I didn't like it personally... it made it seem like Vader and Tarkin absolutely hate each other and are constantly thinking about putting down or killing one another. I doubt they're best friends or anything but A New Hope made it seem like they at least tolerated each other...

What was the trick The battle on Mon Cala took place about one year after ROTS. The clones that were with the Inquisitors were some of the last batches of clones that didn’t go into service until after order 66, thus they didn’t have their chips triggered yet. The Jedi said the words “Execute Order 66” and the clones turned on the Inquisitors. Of course the Inquisitors are mostly former Jedi at this time as well.

It’s literally a hierarchy where they try to out perform others to gain favor with the empire. I read the description for the 2019 Thrawn book and a lot of it is going to be his Tie Defender program vs Krennics project I believe. I’d imagine the annual issue took place quite awhile before ANH anyways, but probably quite awhile after the Mon Cala stuff as well. I wonder if Tarkin suspects who Vader is? I think there might have been something in the Tarkin book about that. I know Thrawn basically knows it’s Anakin.

Just finished the Darth Maul graphic novel, it’s decent. Gives a good pre TPM backstory to Maul and his first encounter with the Jedi. Although it’s somewhat weird that many people know what a Sith is, although I guess they were a big part of galactic history however be it over 1000 years ago.
I liked the inclusion of Bane and Aurra, would have been cool to have them encounter Maul again in TCW. The final fight with Maul and the Jedi was cool and I think it really shows the difference between Jedi and Sith in the prequels. Half of Jedi teaching is honestly theory and understanding the force and the other half is self defense. The Jedi don’t see themselves as having to really challenge themselves. Whereas Mauls training is meant for combat and killing Jedi. This is why Anakin is probably different too given he was trained at an older age, he’s a lot more interested in combat, offensive minded combat as well over theory.
Shame we never saw Nar Shaadaa in TCW, although we do see it in the background of Hutta since it’s the moon. But Nar Shaadaa is literally the criminal haven.

In a Galaxy as advanced as that of Star Wars it makes complete sense that people know what a Sith is. The Sith have only been gone for a thousand years. We, in our world, already know a decent amount about what happened a thousand years ago... and medieval human civilization was completely barbaric compared to Galactic Republic. The fact that Sith existed should be common knowledge for everyone in the galaxy who took a history class or two.
People in the sequels not believing the Jedi ever existed is completely ridiculous. They were literally everywhere during the Clone Wars, which took place approximately 50 years before TFW. Things don't turn into myths in just 50 years... At least half of the people alive in the galaxy are probably over the age of 50... They lived through the Clone Wars. Surely they must have been aware of the existence of Jedi?

I'd almost go so far in saying that was one of the earliest red flags in the sequel trilogy. Treating all aspects of the Force, its affiliated groups, including Luke himself, as some ancient, pseudo-biblical legend is utterly brainless writing. Especially when you treat that thinking with the real world. Is there anyone thinking stuff like Martin Luther King, counter-culture and the Cuban missile crisis were myths? I don't think so

The Clone Wars were the most important event in recent history because they brought an end to the Republic that had existed unopposed for a thousand years. It is basically like World War II was for our world. Yet, seventy years later we don't go around calling the Nazis "myths".

You'd have no education whatsoever and live under a rock to wind up thinking that. You could argue Rey was sort of that person, but come on, with so many travellers popping in and out of Jakku, I'm pretty sure she'd have a broad idea of the mahoosive war between an empire and a rebellion involving a Jedi Knight just three. Freaking. Decades. Ago.

I watched TFA for the second time ever today (it just never became a film I felt compelled to watch over and over again) and, yeah, as I thought, watching this reminds me of how touch-and-go these films are made. TLJ just does not feel like a natural evolution from this. Especially with how obvious it now seems that they were building Rey as some Skywalker/Solo relative. It's an all right action movie, but even here it feels like it could've done with another couple drafts. From how ridiculously multi talented Rey is for no discernible reason, to bigging up the Knights of Ren as a thing and doing nothing with them, to turning Luke, Sith, Jedi and the Force as myths, to making the whole thing too much of an Original Trilogy remix. It also suffers from how Abrams can't seem to write female characters well with how he treats Rey (and it's not helped by how bad Ridley's acting is). All that said, there's some good to come out of it (some of the comedy's on point and it's looks terrific), but, despite it all, I'd rather watch Phantom Menace over this. I know I should probably be committed for saying so, but it's just how I feel

Just read the Anakin and Kenobi graphic novel... I wasn’t sure how it was going to be but I must say it was a very good story. The period between TPM and AOTC is just not explored at all in the current canon and seeing the dynamic between Anakin and Kenobi is really cool here. Anakin idolizes Kenobi as a hero for defeating Maul and Kenobi kind of transitions from Anakin as a burden placed upon him to a responsibility to train him, even going as far to leave the order if Anakin would choose to do so.
I found Palpatine’s role to be really cool as well, his Sidious disguise was nice and I liked how he manipulated Anakin into exposing the senator like that. I guess that was their first real interaction after TPM. Also cool that they showed off Anakins various skills like fixing things and his expectional talent at dueling for his age.
Anyways I’d say it was a great read and an excellent backstory for those two. Kind of want more comics on them now. Although and Qui-Gon and Kenobi one would be cool too especially if it included Jedi Dooku. Although I already know there’s a book on those two coming out soon “Master and Apprentice”.

So no one was allowed to create stories about the Clone Wars before the prequels were made but the idea people had of what the war was about was really interesting. It was like some cloning technology went wrong and wouldn't stop creating evil clones of everyone and the Republic had to fight them. Kinda cool concept imo

I read the final issues of the recent Vader series... pretty cool stuff. I like that they gave Koth a conclusion although I’m not sure why he was kicked off the council? Was that in Dark Disciple? Can’t remember. I like that Vader killed those inquisitors as well. Overall is really liked his relationship with the inquisitors in this series and how he mainly views them as just mere tools to be exploited.
The stuff on Mustafar was cool, although would have preferred they used at least an established old republic Sith Lord. But the story behind Vader’s castle is interesting and I really kind of want to see Kylo visit it in episode 9, maybe that can be the Knights of Ren base or something.
