The prequels had a good story, Lucas just did a poorer job at executing them compared to the originals. All the films still have plot holes and flaws, the prequels simply stand out more with theirs since they came second. Or because the prequels have more flaws, ROTS probably has less flaws then ROTJ (maybe) but if you compare the first two of each trilogy the yeah... Prequels lose no contest, It's actually pretty hard to think of anything major wrong with episode 4 or 5. Well I don't get why Obi-Wan couldn't just e-mail the plans to Bail Organa or why Luke didn't kill the Wampa and stay in its cave but yeah I get what you mean.

Well a transmission like that certainly would have been intercepted with a fleet in orbit of a back water world. I don't think he would have been found in the cave and I doubt his comm worked in the storm, either way he would have froze to death I think but Han saved him

I watched episode 5 first, then the prequels and then A New Hope... and I definitely liked it the least (still kind of do). ROTJ is actually a the best original movie in my opinion.

ANH may be my second favourite, I love the classic feel and it's one of the few movies that I think are flawlessly built up to the final confrontation not one that leaves you with questions or ends on a cliffhanger. I like ROTJ a lot as well though, not really sure why it gets hate. There's a few things here and there but Ewoks > Gungans. I mean one of them was actually smart enough to pick up the blasters.... You know the Gungans only had to lure the army into the field... You can have then retreated into the trees.

Yeah, at least the Gungans had a proper army, the Ewoks were just a bunch of disorganized bears with spears and they still easily defeated the most powerful organization in the galaxy...

The Empire did not expect resistance from the Ewoks, how could they? Palpatine wanted to lure the Rebels into a trap but knew they would not have the fleet or the land forces for a prolonged sustained assault. So a stealth attack on the shield generator was the best option and Palpatines plan did work since all the Rebels got captured however it was an oversight by the Empire to neglect the Ewoks.
It was by chance the Rebels even met up with the Ewoks as well if that didn't happen and they continued on with the orginal plan they would have lost.
The real question should be why didn't the Empire send more reinforcements to the surface after the attack from the Ewoks started... They either thought they had it under control or more likely the Empire jamming the Rebels communications (Lando mentions that) probably also didn't allow the Empire to contact eachother from the surface to the fleet

Now the Trade Federation is just retarded... They had no reason to actually assemble an army to attack the Gungans. They had a fortified position in Theed... There was absolutely no reason to fall for an obvious trap.
Also you got to remember that the Gungans also where fighting in a huge open field against Tanks as well. Ewoks where fighting in trees which gives them a huge advantage. Gungans would have had an advantage as well over droids if they fell back to the swamp...

The Ewoks literally won for the same reason that the men, elves, and dwarves won in the Battle of the Five Armies: because it's the last movie and the plot demands it.

I really don't think it's that unrealistic the Ewoks ended up winning... The empire had a strong enough force to guard a shield generator from a squad of rebels (which is what they expected) but they didn't have the forces and did not expect the Ewoks to be aggressive. Plus like I said the Ewoks did have an advantage in that environment. But the entire prequels is based on the plot demands it, that plot being Anakin has to become Vader and the Empire has to be created. Everything fits together so perfectly and nobody asks questions or really thinks with any logic. Realistically if you're a guy like Yoda or Windu at the top and know everything that happens then it shouldn't be too hard to figure out who really behind the war...

Accept that it's a flaw. Not really, he most likely did build some kind of shelter. You ever see some camping tents when they're folded up? They're actually quite small... I'm sure those Taun Tauns have some kind of survival kit on their gear.

Well Han was supposed to die but he didn't, he will die for sure in TFA. But I think Vader provided quite a bit of sacrifice for his son though.

Today Kathleen Kennedy said that they're still looking into stuff from 1313 and the live action TV Series. It makes me pretty happy that they at least didn't just disregard all of that altogether. I've got to say that I'm really confident in Kathleen Kennedy being in charge of everything. She seems to be handling it all well.

If they're saying they may release 1313 I honestly couldn't really care much, the game looked alright but there should be a Star Wars game by Visceral next year which is apparently a open world sandbox game, sounds pretty cool

When you hear all the hate about Jar Jar defeating a bunch of droid through luck and then you remember this scene exists: Well it certainly isn't as stupid... But he didn't die in the old EU and I highly doubt he stays dead now. They got like 30 years of gaps they can fill now between ROTJ and TFA since the legends stuff doesn't really fit into the sequels and I'm pretty sure Boba will have a part in it. In fact a Boba Fett spinoff is still very possible

That was sort of just a random thing, doesn't matter if he was a professional. I don't think it as originally the intention they established you don't really die by being in the sarlac so really his fate could easily be ther he survives. A lot more believable then Palpatine, Maul, Echo (lol...) or these new Plageuis theories

Plus two of his three hearts already failed from an assassination attempt before if we want to continue into the EU. I also highly doubt Palpatine would fail to kill his master Still, if Plagueis was powerful enough to manipulate life he could probably somehow survive Palpatine's murder attempt. Like maybe not in a physical form, but like a force ghost or Zaros kind of thing. Either way it would be more believable than Palpatine, Boba, Maul or Echo surviving.

Speaking of Plagueis they revealed that Snoke is 7 foot and has a very thin face... That means theoretically the Palgueis theories could still be true... I mean that is exactly how Plagueis looked in the EU. Although I guess him being a new character would still make more sense based on what we know (even though it would kind of suck).

I think Palpatine would have made sure he got the job done, and there was no way for Plagueis to actually expect that . He really couldn't control that power or understand actually how it worked either.

A sculpting model of Snoke's final (or at least really close to final) design leaked out today. I won't post it here for people who don't want to be spoiled, but you should be able to find it. It's... interesting. A bit too similar to the Emperor IMO. I would have preferred the snake look.
