We know there was some plans for one before Disney but I really don't think that idea was ever going to see the light of day anyways.
Now that Disney is in charge I been thinking it's probably very possible now. When you look at the MCU ever since Disney took over they now got several shows. Daredevil for example is Netflix exclusive has a lower budget but still very well done.
Some people say the MCU is milked but I think they're just taking full advantage of the entire universe they have to explore. From Asgard to the Guardians of the Galaxy and just the things on Earth they're exploring multiple events and making them all interesting.
Star Wars on the other hand could be taking advantage of such things as well imo. Instead of just sticking close to the concepts of the six movies (TCW, Rebels, Rouge One spin off) why not make something different? There's an entire galaxy to explore and more than just the movies or Jedi, Sith, The force, etc. Why not something in the Underworld of Coruscant or something that just takes place entirely on some outer rim planet but still in the Star Wars universe. Group of Smugglers or something along those lines at least be creative with it and try something new.
A Star Wars Netflix Orginal Show (Like Daredevil for MCU) wouldn't be such a bad idea. Just a thought that came to my mind but sooner or later im sure there will be some actual shows that are not animated.

For example 1313 I doubt would have anything to do with actual force or much to do with the movies other then Boba appearing. But I think a show would be much cooler for an idea like that anyways.
Group of Smugglers running missions for a crime lord or something would be kind of cool imo.

Oh and I kind of just made this thread to discuss the possibility of other shows and ideas for them that you would find interesting. Not the cancelation of TCW or 1313 I just brought that up to make a point that there is possibility of other content outside of the usual movie related stuff.

Yeah Im sure there should be something eventually. Idk how low budget you can get with Star Wars though because there's like so much stuff like props and costumes and cgi and locations and everything I guess that's why movies are easier
An Underworld series could work like I said I kind of imagine it like Daredevil just with SW stuff however I think a big problem would be making Coruscant..

Yeah that's the problem it could cost a lot more then a usual show but I mean you could just make it on an outer rim planet or something with a group of smugglers and have it be kind of a show about that. More the criminal aspect of Star Wars not bounty hunters but other things.

I'm not totally sure how the budget would work out for this (it'd need to be pretty big even if it didn't have as many effects). But I definitely think they want to do a live action series within the next several years. I heard that it'd reuse sets from the movies once they're done shooting those in order to save money.

I hope so I kind of really want to see a Star Wars live action show after watching Daredevil and how well they did it for Marvel. I'm certainly expecting one after all Disney is pumping out tons of money to make 4 separate shows for the Defenders series (5 counting that I guess) a Star Wars show couldn't cost more than all of those combined. Plus they got Shield and Agent Carter. I wouldn't expect nor is that many shows needed but I think a couple a manageable for sure. Animation is good but I want something more now.

A show focusing on crime lords and smugglers would be really awesome I think. Maybe have it start in the Underworld and branch off to other planets or vice versa. Either way, just the concept seems really cool to me. If anyone's read the book Scoundrels, it could be similar to that, except without the same characters. I'd prefer there to be no movie characters unless it's someone like Bossk/etc.

I don't think anyone else would really be a fan of this, but maybe they could also include politics in the crime lord/smugglers show. Like one of the smugglers could be a former politician in the Senate, or they could show Senators investigating the matters and dealing with it. Maybe they could show the Imperial Senate, which could be interesting, since I doubt it'd be set before ROTS.

Politics is one of the reason why TPM is so hated so I highly doubt they would have anything to do with that. But Id honestly rather a show with no connection to that at all movie wise or any movie characters really unless it's like Boba Fett making a cameo or something. Id like an underworld show to start.

That's true, but I didn't mind the politics. I do agree that a show with little to no connection to the films would be much better than one that does though, just because it's different. Including the crime world of SW would really be interesting. And since Boba Fett is so popular (for almost no reason), I bet Disney would include him in it unless they had a good reason not to.

Boba Fett wouldn't be a main character in what I would have in mind. Id rather just group of theives running heists and smuggling stuff around the galaxy would be cool. And there wasn't that many characters in the originals so that's why Boba is popular. If anything Maul was popular for no reason imo

Well, those are four separate shows with separate budgets and sources of income. But I'm sure a Star Wars show would have a higher budget than them. Either way, though, CGI on TV shows is never really that good, and Star Wars needs lots of CGI even if it uses practical effects. I think a Star Wars show could only be done if it took place almost entirely on one planet, had no lightsabers, little blaster action, and little vehicle action. And a lot of the extras would have to be humans.

But what I mean is Disney still funds all these shows so they the budget of a Star Wars show would be less then All of those combined I think
