Okay I just watched the deception arc with my dad and it's the first time I seen it for awhile...
What's the point? It seems like the whole arc is botched by this episode. I enjoyed the bounty hunters and Obi-Wan undercover and the idea of it all was cool but the execution of the last episode is terrible imo. And tbh this is like Redlettermedia TPM confusing.
First off the warehouse is a good scene (and needed) but why is Dooku there? Really has no point he put Bane in charge for a reason. Then you go to the scene with Obi-Wan talking to Mace and yet he doesn't even inform him Dooku is on Naboo for some reason. The festival and all is good nothing wrong there but then you go to the meeting spot and Dooku does not show. Well he knows of Obi-Wan but it would literally take him 30 seconds to get Palpatine on a shuttle and out of there (seems to be what they try at the end) and there's no way the Republic would shoot that down plus I don't think Obi-Wan actually knew the drop off point at the start he just followed them so he couldn't warn the Jedi in advance.
So doesn't Palpatine want the separatist prisoners released to keep the war going? And they need to be released at some point anyways as they're all in Episode III. Well I guess they try plan B with Dooku vs Anakin at first I thought this was a test for Anakin so Palpatine could watch him but Dooku was still needed so is Dooku in on the plan to manipulate Anakin or what? I mean either of them could have killed eachother they both came close. Then Dooku tries to get Palpatine out so is that the point of the fight or what? And did Padme really organize a banquet? How does Palpatine explain that one. He's the one that brought him to this trap...
I know that has a lot of questions and is somewhat of a rant but everything Palpatine does makes sense except I do not get the point of this it's the biggest question I have with the show. Maybe I'm missing something here like it's okay to leave questions like Rex asking what the point of the war was at the end of Umbara but this is just what is the point literally?
And wait one last thing who actually orchestrated all of this mess? Was it Palpatine, Dooku, Bane or Moralo Eval? Moralo is said to be the one but he becomes irrelevant in Crisis and then it's Dooku and Palpatine? Moralo coming up with it seems out of line it would have to run by the other first. They obviously accept so... Palpatine orchestrating his own capture makes somewhat sense if they wanted the war to stretch more. Bane seems to make the crisis plot at the start but then what was Moralo Evals real contribution? Why do they need Moralo at all?
Because this is so sloppy it makes me think it's not Palpatines idea but he's going along with it and even has Dooku as the king clown here.
