Judging from the movie, Gareth Edwards is quite good. And The Walking Dead game is spectacular, and the writing is so well written. There is barely any cliches so hopefully he will make the movie fantastic. I got high hopes for this one, but if it's Boba fett... I don't really have much to say. He's not THAT interesting.

But judging from the release date. They have some extreme competition. They are up against Avatar 2, and Gareth might have to push back Godzilla 2. Bummer. :/

It Star Wars it will make money no matter if it's good or bad... It kinda has that effect.
And it may end up relating to episode 7. I think it's Boba or Yoda if it's character.

Sounds promising. Although I don't think a Yoda one would be the best idea. While I'm sure they could make an awesome story, I kinda like him just being a mystery. A Han Solo one would be pretty sweet though!

Fords awesome character will be ruined by a spinoff.

Bummer. :/ They could just get a new director for Godzilla 2 (they probably will at this point). JJ Abrams left Star Trek 3 for Star Wars 7 so since Gareth Edwards is doing the same for Star Wars they'll probably get a new director like they did for Star Trek 3. It Star Wars it will make money no matter if it's good or bad... It kinda has that effect. And it may end up relating to episode 7. I think it's Boba or Yoda if it's character. It's interesting to think about how they'll do against each other though... Avatar's the highest grossing movie of all time (it made nearly 2 billion dollars internationally at the box office). It's sort of lost its momentum now though since it's been 6 years since the first came out, and Star Wars will always be popular, but these two movies having the same release date will make them both lose money. Or it could be like Warcraft... that movie was due out December 18th, 2015, but when Star Wars 7 announced that release date Warcraft was pushed back to March 2016 right away.

I don't think the next avatar will be all that great I think bringing him back is more stretching the story out its better as one movie IMO. Star Wars will get sales not matter what.

Actually I just checked and Avatar 2 doesn't have an exact release date yet. All it says is December 2016, so that and this Star Wars spinoff can still have a couple weeks between them.

I really don't think it will be a big concern though Batman and a Superman is coming out next to the avengers as well right? Or cap 3 or something like that?

But even though Star Wars 7 would beat Avatar 2, they'd both be losing money from each other because most people don't see two movies in one weekend.

Not episode 7 which comes our 2015 and the spinoff is 2016 which is same time as avatar. I don't expect a spinoff to beat avatar anyways. As a matter of fact it won't happen.

That would depend on episode 7 if it gets episode one reviews (which is unlikely) then I don't know. I think avatar 2 will do better.

And Avatar is actually the highest grossing film ever with roughly 2.7 billion worldwide I'm not so sure how the second (and third) will be though...

I'm not really sure how to react to Edwards' hiring. I think he can do well, so long as the characters in the Star Wars film aren't lacking in depth as Godzilla. Yet I doubt that'll happen, since there's no big monster to centre things on

Probably so, which is what makes me feel quite invested in this guy. I'm not really sure how to react to Edwards' hiring. Yeah, that's probably the biggest let down of Godzilla. Excluding that Lego fail of course
