I liked this one more than I thought I would. Mayfeld wasn’t as annoying in this one and I don’t mind the break out wasn’t a big focus of the episode. Would’ve been kinda weird to have two prison break episodes so soon anyway
While Marok looked kinda Earth-like too it was way better than Tython. Also about time we got a fight on top of a “train” lol. But I don’t understand why those “pirates” would blow up the fuel instead of stealing it...
I have a feeling eventually Din might abandon the helmet rule. I mean he basically already broke it in this episode people saw him. Kinda no point now
Surprised Operation Cinder was mentioned. Cool that Mayfeld was a survivor of that. Too bad it doesn’t make any sense because of fucking TROS. But then again I suppose it never made that much sense anyway lol
Don’t like Boba repainted his armor it looked so dope with the chipped paint... But that seismic charge though. Surprised we didn’t see some epic rhydonium explosion like in TCW/Rebels

Given Boba did not get a show I’m guessing he may remain as a recurring character on Mando. That would make sense and would be fine with me as long as he isn’t killed off. Keep him and Bo-Katan as players for the Mandalore arc
Speaking of that should be next season right I mean I’m not sure what else they’re gonna do. I don’t see how Din could be involved in the Jedi stuff so I don’t see that being a big focus of the story. I think they might end the show at 4 seasons unless they’re told to keep dragging it out. I could even see season 3 being the end honestly but I think they’d want to keep it going to have crossovers with Ahsoka and Rangers
But back to Boba I hope they give him more to do. So far he’s just been the chauffeur kinda like Chewie in the sequels

I was worried this was going to be a lot of action and not much substance again, but it turned out to be a good mix of both. Mayfield was much better this time around, and I liked the added bits of history they gave his character. That Imperial officer gave off pretty creepy vibes too. I honestly didn't expect Mayfield to kill him, I figured he just wanted to stir the pot and get more info about what Gideon's plans are.
Even though Boba was sidelined mostly, I think it works for now. We should still be focused more on Mando through the end of this season, and then (potentially) transition to a Mandalore focused plot next season. Also loved seeing the seismic charge at the end, that was a great touch instead of another dogfight.
It was kind of neat seeing another junkyard planet with remnants of the Empire, similar to how Bracca was a Republic junkyard. Speaking of which, I've seen a fair amount of people online claiming Cal might appear in the series at some point. Honestly doesn't make much sense or seem likely to me, would rather it be Luke, Ezra, or someone new. Although if it somehow turned out to be Cal, I guess I wouldn't be too upset.

Even though it's not related to the episode, I think it's cool that Fennec Shand is going to appear in the Bad Batch tv series. Also, if Mando is going to dive deeper into a Mandalore plot for future seasons, I could see the Bad Batch series dropping some cool bits that lead into what we see. With the Ahsoka series confirmed, I think that could mean a lot of the First Order/Force-related stuff we've had so far in Mando could transition there for further development. A lot could change based on how the finale goes down, but I'm beginning to wonder whether Gideon will stick around much longer. I hope he does, otherwise it wastes Giancarlo's acting and a seemingly cool character. But... I could see him dying and then a Mandalorian conflict erupting surrounding the Darksaber in the final season or two. Plus, Gideon's death could allow for a Thrawn/First Order tease that we'd see more of in the Ahsoka (or even Rangers) series. Or maybe that's all way off, who knows I'm just spitballing ideas. But it's going to be interesting having 3 live action shows all interconnecting. I guess TCW sort of did that with some plots (i.e. Sith/Maul, Mandalore), but this is still pretty different.

One of the better episodes, though it's a bit sad Boba was relegated to getaway driver in this one... Also, I'm not a big fan of his cleaned up armour. Some have said having it as a big part of Mandalorian honour would mean keeping it in good shape, yet Boba was pretty cool leaving the scratches and dent around in the OT... I will say I got a bit giddy with the seismic charge reappearance though Also I'm starting to wonder if that rumour of Pedro having issues with wearing the helmet all the time is either not true, or it led to them having Din move towards no longer committing to the idea. I mean this episode makes some pretty good arguments over the rule and frankly Din's growing more and more willing to let his skin breath a little I think it'll lead to him just abandoning it. Actually it's kinda why I ended up liking Mayfeld in this. Made him a lot more interesting with revealing the crappy situations Imperial grunts were put through. Dear god though, I know stormtroopers go down like punks any day of the week, but this episode made them utter skittles to the crew's bowling balls My funny head canon is that they only let Mayfeld go because he met their stormtrooper kill count requirements lol

So... They scan the DNA of people entering the refinery, so Boba and the others couldn't come with them because they are in databases... But apparently they don't actually have a database of their own personnel to check... Great writing once again...

They are most likely checking for New Republic/ Rebel affiliations or criminal databases. I mean it’s the same in our world really... if you have no criminal record you don’t tend to come back with anything on you in a criminal background check. In this context they might also exclude aliens though cause empire.

Decent episode, I have a feeling Moff Gideon dies next episode but then we get a Thrawn reveal or something idk.
At the same time Gideon has the dark saber and I get the feeling a Mandalore plot is still gonna be a thing
