^Maul cutting clones in half wasn't enough Some good chatter between the two force-wielders though. Loved when Maul asked for a fighting chance and Ahsoka just said "I'm not rooting for you." Anyone notice they said Ridge was down against Maul? Apparently that's a clone from all the way back in the original animated movie. Made it through the entire war just to be killed by stupid Palpatine's stupid plans.

Maul is the best Star Wars character. I’m still pretty mixed on that because at the end of the day his character really didn’t need to come back and honestly even if he hadn’t come back it doesn’t change much in the saga. His fate is still the same from the same person tbh... I’m like 90% certain he would have originally be revived and then killed again in this show. Idk while his stories were cool I still stand by my opinion that he returned to have cool action sequences/ lightsaber fights and because Dave and George reallt didn’t know how to drag out 8 seasons without doing something drastic like Maul. He didn't need to return, no. But his character is still really great. He has the most depth out of all Star Wars villains. I don't think they planned to kill him in TCW though. I think they were always planning on exploring the time between ROTS and ANH after TCW, and I am certain they would have had him die there. The Siege of Mandalore was their end game for a while before the show got cancelled, and Maul was a key character, but Kenobi wasn't involved. They were never going to give away the kill to someone else.

So I was thinking about the voices... why did Ahsoka and Maul hear them? Did every Jedi hear that? Probably not. Probably Ahsoka bond with Anakin in her case. Maul and Sidious probably have some sort of connection as well. Of course this was established with Dooku and Yoda in season 6. I mean, did Maul and Ahsoka even hear it? I think they sensed something was happening and the voices just served as a way of telling the audience what was going on. Or they did hear the voices... I guess they both have a strong enough connection to Anakin/Palps to justify it. It's interesting how their former apprentices were together when it all went down.

Here is my prediction for the finale: Rex and Ahsoka fake their deaths and create fake graves (I read the Ahsoka novel and I believe that's what they did). Then the final scene will show Vader for the first time as he finds those graves and his last connection to the light/past is broken.
I think they just have to show Vader because of how central Anakin was to the show. We may also see Obi-wan's warning hologram as he is the third key character. You cannot end this without those two being involved somehow. I just hope we get a glimpse of Sheev as well...

I'm not sure there's a lot of weight comparing to the very novel this show has sort of made non canon. A lot of the details in it don't line up with what this arc has shown Still, I like that idea. Ensures Vader will stay in that dark, twisted place in his mind without any form of emotional lifeline. I mean, as much as I'm low key hoping for a Maul/Vader fight, I just want a reason for Vader to pop up in any way

This episode probably serves as one of the most unsettling in the show. After they leave Mandalore, there's a sense of dread here that doesn't let up. Even after Order 66 is given, it's chilling seeing Rex and the others hunt down Ahsoka.
I'm glad we get to see Rex play out the orders before Ahsoka saves him, it made the episode that much better I think. Given the kind of person Ahsoka is, it also makes sense for her to do all she can to save one of her closest friends, which is Rex. She's not going to give up on him immediately, and her desire not to kill any of the clones shows how close she became with them over the war.
The Jedi Council scene was great, the way it ties into ROTS is flawless. Kind of crazy how Mace is a big reason a lot of Palpatine's plans work in the final moments before Anakin becomes Vader. The way Yoda looks at Ahsoka also made for a powerful moment. He's probably the only council member besides Obi-Wan that truly trusts Ahsoka still, and seeing her refuse to say anything about what she heard from Maul makes it that much sadder when everything goes down.

I could've done without the droids playing such a central role, but I guess it made Ahsoka's evasion from the clones this episode more realistic. It's funny how R7 is the same one Ahsoka had in season 1, nice little callback there.

I actually think the rest of the Jedi trust Ahsoka too. She proved them wrong in season 5 and just caught one of their most wanted enemies. I think the biggest issue is her lack of trust, which of course sadly is caused by the screw-up of Mace and most of the council. But yeah, if she was still a Jedi at this point she probably tells Yoda everything now and that could have given them all time to regroup before confronting Sidious.
