Through Imperial Eyes
Fun I guess. Really liked seeing Yularen the only legacy character return that didn't feel forced. Framing Lyste was pretty weak on Kallus' part though like it won't be that hard to figure out he's the traitor and not Lyste. I am glad Thrawn knows though I was worried they would make Thrawn seem stupid
Secret Cargo
Sucks that most of this episode was yet another lame ass space battle... But the ending was kinda nice it's good seeing the rebellion all come together
Double Agent Droid
Stupid fucking episode. My favorite part was when the lobot knockoff's brain exploded. And AP-5 singing with the space birds are you fucking kidding me? This show sucks

I love Through Imperial Eyes. An Empire-oriented story works so well, and Kallus serves as an interesting person to use for it. The beginning POV shot immediately distinguishes this episode from others. A nice little detail is seeing a sink, I'm not sure we've seen one before in the SW universe.
Introducing Yularen here is perfect. It feels completely natural, and he brings a sense of competence and authority that only Thrawn, Vader, and Tarkin have done. Framing Lyste wasn't the smartest move by Kallus, but he didn't really have alternatives. I'm glad Thrawn and Yularen see through this, it really demonstrates their intelligence. It was also pretty cool seeing Thrawn train with the sentry droids. The code word "Rukh" was a nice easter egg.
On a side note, Ezra was very likable this episode. However, his disguise as an officer seems really bad, I'm not sure how he'd pass for one...
This episode is definitely a 10/10 for me. It's so unique, has a great cast of characters, and progresses the plot too. I wish we had gotten another 1-2 episodes like this, especially if they included Tarkin, Vader, or Krennic.

Oh, Kenbo your female Imperial officer from Ghosts of Geonosis appeared again in this episode. Apparently, her name is Captain Brunson.

Secret Cargo makes some neat connections to the OT. We see Mon Mothma join the rebel movement publicly, references to Dantoonie, and signs of the larger rebel alliance. The Archeon Nebula offers a nice change in pace to other space battles and kind of reminds me of Shadow of Malevolence and Legends of the Lasat. However, we get to see the TIE Defender in action for the first time here, which is cool.
The explosion at the end looks stunning, I'd put it up there with Missing in Action for prettiest explosions on TCW and Rebels. It also lets the rebels escape without making Konstantine or Pryce seem incompetent.
This episode does run the line of feeling like filler though, and if not for Mon Mothma, it would be pretty forgettable. I'll give it a 6/10.

Okay, Double Agent Droid is pretty bad... It has an interesting concept with the Imperial Intelligence Office, but we're basically getting a worse version of Warhead. I'm not even sure what point having Wedge in the lead serves other than him being ignorant enough to not notice how different Chopper acts. He feels like a YA dystopian novel lead, not a rebel.
Any respect I build for AP-5 during the episode vanishes when he starts singing in space at the end. I have no clue why that scene exists. It's a little weird not having Kanan around again for the second episode in a row, too.
The ending felt a little wacky with Hera sending a reverse signal that blows up the ship. This episode would've felt more necessary if the Controller succeeded and then informed Thrawn of Chopper Base's location. Not really a fan of this one. 4/10.

Double Agent Droid I would say is probably the second worst episode of the show after Iron Squadron. Can't believe they made this unnecessary bullshit instead of showing Thrawn feed Kallus false information. Would've been a good episode to show that. Idk which is worse AP-5's Disney Princess moment or helicopter lightsabers...
Also is it a coincidence the Controller, who is based on story group member Pablo Hidalgo, is another annoying character just like Mart Mattin? Lol. Seriously fuck those two clowns idk what happened to the SG. They seemed competent during the Lucas era. Pablo basically became a yes man and allowed KK and the sequel directors to destroy the canon

I’m pretty sure Ahsoka used a sink in Season 5.

Through Imperial Eyes might be the best episode of the show. It felt like it had real tension throughout. And Kallus makes for a great protagonist.
I liked all they want through to set up the Lieutenant, but that Thrawn was able to see through the shit. I really liked the way he figured it out. Ezra was pretty good here, though I question why they gave him a disguise that would show his face.
This is a 9/10. I think we’ve established the Rebels is at its best when it goes small scale and cuts away from the repetitive “let’s find this thing that will give us a small advantage over the Empire” stories.

I like the argument they have with the gold squad pilots. They’re acknowledging how the Ghost friends methods are reckless and short sighted. We should have been having stuff like this for the last two seasons.

Cool idea to bring in Dutch van der Linde in his pilot days. Not sure I like how he’s portrayed though. The accent is all wrong and I’m doubtful he has a plan.

I really like the ending of the episode. But I guess in some ways I am disappointed that it’s coming this late into the series.
I guess I half expected a moment like this to come in Fire Across the Galaxy, where the Alliance reveals itself and the Rebellion begins. They decided to have that moment here, okay fine. But it doesn’t feel like we really built three seasons to reach it.
I guess I just wish there were more weight behind this moment. Like so much had been sacrificed and fought for to bring this organization together(like it felt like in The Force Unleashed) but it kinda comes out of nowhere. Sure a lot of individual episodes delay with getting some minor advantage over the Empire, but those episodes never had the proper weight or momentum to them. Many of them you could watch ok any order and you wouldn’t miss anything.
I guess this isn’t so much a critique of the episode, but that the actual rebellion being formed felt like a surprise. I wish I were invested in it but nothing has even been given to make me care. More time was spent building up to Padme’s speech in Pursuit of Peace.
As for the episode. Eh it was alright. Ending was great but the rest was generic. Cool to see Dutch. Would like to get Hosea next season but who knows. 6/10.

Have we seen people wear glasses in Star Wars before? Something about that feels wrong. Like goggles, sure. But who wears glasses?

Do they paint and repaint Chopper every time his goes undercover? How does the paint dry so quickly 🤔 But holy shit every other episode is them painting Chopper and stealing Stormtrooper armor... It's ridiculous
