Figured there should be a thread for this. We all knew this was coming.
According to the latest rumors, it’s not gonna be Old Republic, but something called the “High Republic” which is much closer to the Rise of the Empire and would likely include Yoda.

Pre TPM stuff honestly wouldn’t be terrible if it respects the prequels well enough,
Probably gonna be long before the movies though.

I've seen 400 years before TPM. It sounds interesting and I would love to see the Jedi at their height once again. That's what I love about the PT seeing the order as it once was as opposed to almost no Jedi left by the time of the OT
Sadly Disney's track record is terrible so I'm afraid this'll be another thing they fuck up. I think the pattern I'm seeing is the more Lucasfilms meddles in projects, the worse they end up being. If they just keep their dumbass hands off and give people who actually understand Star Wars more creative control, shit might actually be good

You have good contrast between scholars, warriors, consulars, etc. The Jedi are in their prime and stand against darkness. The prequel Jedi and anything centuries after the rule of two formation the Jedi are just pretty lazy, there is no major threats, they are no longer warriors and corruption and outside interference begins to take root inside the order. They become too complacent.

As much as I like to see the Jedi in full force, we’ve already seen that. I’m not an Old Republic fan (not saying it’s bad I’ve just never played any of it) but I want to see the Sith at their fucking height.
Unless they want to retcon Phantom Menace, they couldn’t even use the Sith except for shadowy behind the scenes stuff.

But yeah seeing the Sith pre rule of two would've been interesting

But yeah seeing the Sith pre rule of two would've been interesting I don’t know how they would do it though.... something lost rule of two, won’t have much Sith stuff. Also it’s likely to be stories about the Republic falling apart... the only real threats are crime bosses and I guess rogue republic worlds and civil wars. Like the Mandalorian civil war right before TPM. I think the fans in general have voiced their opinion on politics being too boring for movies so yeah not sure how they will do pre TPM. Maybe they will inspire to go back to the old canon with the Mandalorians rising against the Jedi but those stories used characters like Dooku I think. I imagine a new trilogy would take place before his time and anyone else’s time not named Yoda. Unless the plan is literally a trilogy just following Yoda, but idk the fans don’t seem to want that either else we would get a Han trilogy.

It's a book series.... Wtf? This whole time I thought it was going to be a movie(s). Or is this just a series to accompany the films? But this was today's "big reveal"... Holy shit can we just get something not lame soon? Like there's nothing to look forward to right now for Star Wars

Lol. I'd rather see classic aliens than the indistinguishable beige potato blobs from the ST

Here's them talking about stuff. Honestly I think it's super cool. There is just something about the cover like all the colors and how majestic the Jedi look... I really like it. The concept arts are very nice as well. I think the story is quite intriguing as well it's like the Jedi trying to maintain peace at the Republic's borders against mad max type gangs or whatever. Just from what little we know, it feels like something new and it feels like Star Wars at least to me.
But come on why is it a book? No one reads lol. This should be a tv show or a movie. Well since it's not a trilogy it probably doesn't fit to keep posting about it in this thread but I didn't want to make a new one because I don't think it'll be used much. So maybe someone could change the title of this one to project luminous or High Republic or something

No idea if it's been mentioned here before. I saw on Screenrant that there are rumors of an Old Republic TV Show. I don't know if those rumors are the same ones that we know know will "just" be his High Republic series. I hope not.
I really need an Old Republic show. So far most of what Disney has spat out has been a disappointment. The Trilogy was bad. Solo was so forgettable I literally don't remember a single moment other than the fact Maul showed up for a minute. Rogue One was good, and the Mandalorian had a solid first season. A Cassian Andor series sounds like a terrible idea to me.
Other than the current new episodes of Clone Wars and I suppose The Mandalorian there's really nothing Star Wars related I'm looking forward to.
