Feel like most of us don't really care about the spoilers at this point but I thought I'd make a separate thread just in case and so we don't have to keep using the spoiler tag to discuss
Anyway I saw cam footage of Palpatine's fate. So basically he shoots his lightning at Rey who is blocking it with I guess Leia's lightsaber (??). She then force pulls Anakin's lightsaber from the ground and crosses it against Leia's to make an X. Palpatine is surprised but he doesn't stop his lightning as Rey moves forward towards him. The lightning starts getting deflected into his skull and he starts disintegrating basically.
Just turn off the lighting bro....... What the fuck a man as smart as Palpatine wouldn't allow himself to be killed with his own lightning. It's kinda like what he did with Mace but I think that can be justified as him trying to manipulate Anakin into turning on Mace. But here...

I have to give it to Rian Johnson, the TLJ is a masterpiece compared to this... Maybe they should have let him do the last movie. Sure, it would still have sucked, but at least he might not have ruined Sheev and Anakin...

I think a good idea would've been cast young actors for the big three and bring in Thrawn. Or if they had to have two super powers at war, bring in the Vong or something similar. Lots of good ideas for a post ROTJ story but I think besides Mandalorian they aren't going to return to this era for a while. They will probably try to forget sequels ever happened. Who knows they might even do this by returning to the PT.. Just hope that doesn't get butchered. I do think the next big thing might be Old Republic though

Lots of good ideas for a post ROTJ story but I think besides Mandalorian they aren't going to return to this era for a while. They will probably try to forget sequels ever happened. Who knows they might even do this by returning to the PT.. Just hope that doesn't get butchered. I think if they got anyone other than Rian, they would've tried to continue JJ's vision after TFA. Rian literally decided to do the exact opposite of what JJ had laid out. Now it seems JJ did the same to Rian with TROS People are asking who this movie is for. Literally everyone is mad. OT fans are mad because they reset all the characters, their development, and their achievements PT fans mad because no Anakin TLJ fans mad because apparently TROS shits on it and Rian Reylo fans mad because they didn't get a happy ending There is no artistic vision with these movies. It is a Frankenstein monster of a corporate product heavily reliant on nostalgia and riddled with social politics and agendas |

Just got back from the movie. I liked it more than the Force Awakens but it wasn't as phenomenal as the Last Jedi. However, those that have not enjoyed the new movies will absolutely loathe this one.

Also, it felt weird the ending shot have no 3PO and R2 and no Ben alongside Luke and Leia. Just felt incomplete. And can we just realise Han's probably sensitive to the Force slightly? Makes his piloting, sharpshooting, carbonite surviving, blaster shot avoiding, perfectly timed lightspeed jumping, ghost appearing all the more believable. Plus it adds a bit of hilarious irony what with his previous disbelief |

I always thought she didn't bother with the Jedi business and I'm pretty sure even canon novels/comics talked about that. People are saying the ending is stupid because all the Skywalkers hate Tatooine lol It is also so dumb that basically Palpatine wins... His bloodline lives on while the Skywalker line dies off. And Rey is what all future Jedi will be like... Wtffff |

Rumors saying original villain was the Son to be played by Matt Smith after JJ discussed ideas with Lucas. This was scrapped because JJ thought that would alienate the casual audience
Damn I wish Matt was at least in this. Him and Anakin were the two things I wanted to see most and neither made it in

Ok I just got back... obvious spoilers ahead,
This was a decent film, a fairly good Star Wars movie even. And I’m going to give JJ credit he did all he could to dig this trilogy out of the mess from TLJ. That is the real problem here... TLJ. Rian Johnson decided to write fan fiction instead of continuing a trilogy. LITERALLY almost nothing in TLJ matters besides a few scenes with Luke and Rey and the force bond established with Rey and Kylo. But the other 2 hours of that film were totally pointless.
The idea of Palpatine returning is actually ok and kind of lines up with the old EU... but that’s another problem. So much of this is ripped from the EU. Dark Side Nexus planet? Yep Korriban, Malachor, Byss, Ziost, etc... Force Heal? It’s in the EU. Force Bond? Revan and Bastila, Traya and Exile, etc. Palpatine returning? Was in the EU. Planet killing star destroyers? Already done.... almost seems pointless to make the EU legends.
Rey was tolerable in the movie, Poe was by far my favorite character, Kylos redemption was pretty good, Hux was 100% ruined after TFA, Finn was useless and should have died in TLJ.
Anyways my new movie ranking.

I do like how there was only two Sith wayfinders... Palpatine had one with him on DSII. The other was on Mustafar at the start, I assume Vader had one that got scavenged from his castle, nice continuity at least there.

Oh and the idea of Leia being trained is wonderful, totally believable, and makes her force exploits fit in much better. That was a good plot point, and the cgi for young Leia and Luke was good.

So I actually saw this. Damn. I don't watch many movies in theaters but the ones I have watched I usually am glad I got to experience in a theater. I've never left feeling disappointed until now.
This shit was soul crushingly bad. My soul is actually crushed because I know this garbage fan fiction is the canon continuation of the true Skywalker saga. Star Wars is literally my favorite thing ever and it is so sad to see this is what has become of it.
So many things just do not make sense. More questions are raised than answered. More characters ruined and/or made annoying. And honestly the dialogue sucked as well. This movie is more cringey than AOTC
