Anyways haven’t watched yet but seems the first episode is bringing in good ratings so that’s a solid sign

The dialogue is bad... and very limited... And why did the IG unit claim he had to kill the baby? Didn't the Imperial guy ask the Mandalorian to bring him in alive?
Why is it a thing for Mandalorians to never take off their helmets now? Pre Vizsla and Bo-Katan took it off all the time. Speaking of Vizsla and Katan... The Mandalorian smith had a horned helmet, could be a reference to Maul's Deathwatch.
And... I wonder if this Mandalorian guy lost his family during the Clone Wars and hates droids for that reason.

Also, Yoda's species just stay a baby for at least 50 years? That is pretty inconvenient...

I loved it. I have been wanting a live action Star Wars show forever and now they've finally made one and it seems really good. Even if the story ends up not being good (which I doubt would happen) the sets, the aliens, the tech and whatnot is all there and it really captures that Star Wars feel and magic that we haven't been consistently getting with Disney's releases
The baby Yoda thing is quite interesting I wonder what they will do with that. Also I wonder what will happen with IG-11 pretty sure there's more to him than dying in the first episode lol.
The Mandalorian himself is cool and I'm looking forward to learning more about him. I kinda assumed they were extremely rare nowadays but there was that den full of them... Speaking of that really looked like the Fett symbol hanging on the wall. And pretty dope that Carbon freezing is something that bounty hunters started using regularly. Guess Boba can be thanked for the idea lol

I'm glad the next episode is not too far away. I can't wait to see Cara and Moff Gideon hopefully they have a part in it

Maybe they have a more sudden growth spurt? Maybe their growth rate changes later down the line

So one thing that kinda bothers me is the tracking fobs... Just seems way too convenient and unrealistic. When they announced a show about bounty hunters I was curious how they would go about tracking their bounties but looks like they just get a magic fob that automatically leads them to them...

Got around to the first episode, and it's a really solid start. There was a great mix of locations, characters, exposition, and action. I worried this episode would be too much set-up, but I'm glad that wasn't the case.
Seeing Yoda's species is pretty neat, and I don't think it's strange for them to have such a long childhood. If anything, it makes sense for different species to have varying childhoods, rather than all of them following the same cycle as humans.
I agree the tracking fob was a little too convenient, but maybe that's something only for this mission. I also really liked the interactions between the Mandalorian and IG-11.

Also, Yoda's species just stay a baby for at least 50 years? That is pretty inconvenient... That would explain why there’s none in the galaxy... none survive past infancy. But all are force sensitive which also makes them a threat even as a child.

And I assume there’s more than one place in the galaxy to pick up bounties.... maybe someone else has more intel or there is a rouge element inside the imperials.
But I really enjoyed the first episode, it has very good picture quality and effects. Definitely not cheaply made imo and I don’t mind the smaller scale. It’s nice to see the universe expanded in this way, it’s the little things that are going to make these live action shows good imo.

A buddy of my brother's managed to hook us up with downloaded episodes. Anyway, the first positives have to be the costume design and music. I can't tell you how over the moon I was seeing so many classic aliens back. Never did I think my heart would be warmed by the sight of that Imperial spy bug species, but here we are The music's also so much more varied and charismatic than anything Disney's films have churned out. Visuals carry that "fanfilm" feeling, but otherwise it's excellently shot. That said, I really hope this super slow burn pacing isn't going to be a regular thing. I also wish the Mando had a bit more character to him. Considering his face is always concealed you'd think Pascal would be allowed to utilise a bit more physical acting to the table, but instead he just seems too stoic. I didn't have much of a problem with the script, but I do think it needs a bit more pizazz thrown in. In the end it's still a better, more interesting ride most of Disney's films, or Resistance, or Rebels. Hopefully Yoda Jr here can make take this interest further. Still don't know why they didn't just make this the Boba Fett show though

If he always keeps it on there’s no reason to cast someone like Pascal over a no name actor.

Yeah that was pretty good. Got some serious Red Dead vibes lol. It felt good to see the Star Wars universe in a more gritty lens. Not completely blown away but real solid.
