Well that took a weird turn. But is that bad? I don't know. But anyway, here is the penultimate arc of the show... until now.
March 29th - April 4th 2019

I went with the title Ivar-Jedi suggested a long time ago because TCW doesn't do Part Twos.

I might post Week 36 early since TCW will go off Netflix on the seventh.

If I recall correctly, Jar-Jar worked pretty well in these episodes.

When I pull up an episode on Netflix, it stills says it will be up until April 7. It always does that for like the last 406 times it was it was leaving and then is still around the day after I know but this time I actually kinda believe it since we know where it’s going. Could be wrong but it’s cutting close.

I’m starting to wonder if Disney cut their music budget for this season. I mean it’s surprising that they would use recycled music for Fives’ death and at the beginning of the second episode of this arc it plays Satine’s theme for no apparent reason.

Or maybe not. The music after that doesn’t sound like we’ve heard it before. Sometimes they just reuse tracks in weird ways.

The Disappeared is not one of my favorite episodes but it’s an all around okay time. An episode centered around Jar Jar sounds like a recipe for disaster but he has dare I say... character development?
The show is very aware of how unpopular Jar Jar is so I like how they kind of incorporate that into how the other characters talk about him while at the same time growing him past that. Yoda says that he has “the mind of a child” but strangely he actually feels a bit more mature here than he ever has before.
Mace Windu is pretty good here. I like how despite not being happy about the assignment, that he doesn’t complain or really ever show his displeasure. It’s a cool thing ghag kinda separates him from other characters on the show. He also makes for strangely functional pairing with Jar Jar.
The setting is different than pretty much anything we’ve ever seen and I don’t really have feelings either way. Most of the episode looks like China and the end looks like something from Indiana Jones. I’d say the ending fight is overall pretty cool and I like how Jar Jar actually tries to fight back instead of his usual shenanigans.
This is an okay episode. Perfectly enjoyable but not one I’d go back to over and over again. 6/10

I enjoy The Ritual a bit more than the last one since there’s little to set up and it’s basically one big chase. And there’s even a few slow moments between Mace and Jar Jar thrown in there that I like.
Jar Jar is at his best in this episode. In the last one he tried to fight, in this one he actually succeeds. You keep expecting him to accidentally save the day but picks up one of those guns and actually takes control of the situation. That’s honestly pretty cool.
Mace is just as cool as ever and I like seeing him begrudgingly start to like Jar Jar. I’m not sure about having Talzin show up. It’s a cool twist and one you definitely wouldn’t expect but she feels much more like a villain of the week. It’s cool to know that she’s still out there but this almost feels like too light of an appearance to have her show up. It’s like having an R2 centered episode with Darth Maul as the villain. It’s just kinda weird.
But that really is my only gripe with the episode. It’s good fun. I never thought my favorite part of an episode would be Jar Jar’s character growth but here we are. I guess Captain Rex’s blaster training paid off. This episode actually wanted me to see more of him and see if they could redeem him further. Strange times.
7/10.

This actually kinda makes me wonder if the line about training at the end of “Mystery of a Thousand Moons” was a hint to their intentions of making Jar Jar more competant in the future.

Just adding that, it’s good that they still stayed true to Jar Jar’s character and made his growth feel natural. I wouldn’t ever want to see Jar Jar as a full fledged badass.

The Disappeared is an ok side adventure but it’s pretty out of place with everything else in season 6. Basically the entire episode is Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. Disappearing Villagers, cult, sacrifice, very much the same imagery and reactions from characters here as in Indiana Jones. I very much liked starting this episode on Coruscant though. The planet itself is ok and the people are also ok but nothing amazing, I still find Jar Jar fairly annoying but he makes for a decent duo with Windu. Windu is pretty awesome though, I like his aggressive but controlled fighting style and it’s just cool to see him do something again. I always wanted a Windu vs Dooku fight Anyways I’ll also give this one a 6, it’s decent and unique but not something I’m crazy about,

The Ritual is better than The Disappeared, it’s just a fun side adventure. I really enjoy these kinds of episodes a lot more than say Political episodes. I’d compare something like this to a lot of season 1 episodes like say Trespass for example.
Mace is pretty cool tbh, he was never my favorite character but he’s pretty wise in a simple way and he just feels like an invincible character. You never expect him to lose, no matter how many enemies are against him you always expect Mace Windu to prevail and it’s fun watching him overcome his enemies with relative ease. Mace really feels in touch with what the Jedi should be if there was no war imo.
Jar Jar is more tolerable in this episode and he has quite a few humorous scenes both by himself and when talking to Mace. I also did not expect Talzin the first time, not before “The Great Mother” line was dropped at least. She feels out of place here but it’s not terrible.
Anyways it’s going to be a 7 from me, fun side adventure but again nothing that really takes you back.

Final score is 13/20 or 65%... feels like it deserves a bit higher but again this ain’t stuff you want to watch continuously.

The Disappeared is a pretty unique episode within TCW. Even though it overuses the Indiana Jones tropes, it's not a bad episode. Jar Jar is at his most tolerable in these episodes I think, which arguably could be due to his shared time with Windu. They work together much better than you would expect, and seeing them both placed together in such a strange location is interesting.
I like the mystery vibe we have the first half of this episode. It's nothing super elaborate, and the final half of the story gives some nice payoff with a Temple of Doom inspired sequence. It's neat hearing that certain planets don't see the Jedi as a benevolent force, and in the case of this episode, they're labeled as kidnappers.
If it didn't keep a pretty brisk pace, I'd probably rate it lower, but I'll go with 7/10.

I'm not a huge fan of The Ritual. It's basically one giant chase sequence out of a video game, but all the small bits don't hold much weight for me. It's obvious these encounters are just filler leading into the final few minutes. Yet even the final battle is underwhelming. Mother Talzin's inclusion is neat, but I find it way too rushed. We also don't get to see much of Windu vs Talzin. It would've been nice to have less filler in the middle of the episode so we could have more time devoted to them talking and fighting at the end.
The prior episode could work as a standalone if needed (of course changing the ending slightly), but this episode doesn't add much overall to what we saw in that. Jar Jar and Windu still present a neat duo, but when all they're doing is fighting, it loses some of the charm/ potential.
On a side note, the planet itself is a very cool setting. We also see a Loth-cat here, which I believe is the first time they were shown on screen. I'll go with 6/10 for this one.
